I live in Australia and about four years ago we had to hire a car. Standing in line at the airport to rent one I saw that the 300C was available. That started a two day love affair. Winding twisting roads and nice straight stretches were you could let it stretch its legs were all done with ease and in complete climate controlled comfort. I still remember it, stunning looks gorgeous interior and incredible performance from a V6. I have driven a lot of cars but I can honestly say that was the best to date. Nice video mate, thanks for posting it.

It’s the kind of thing you either love it or not. I have the “S” (2019), and the cruising down the road part of the equation is super. KEEP IN MIND, the 20 inch wheels are splendid to look at and on a smooth road, a great asset to the ride. It has some nice handling characteristics. On a bad bumpy road however, you are going to feel the bumps a bit more. This car produces something akin to the “German” ride. A bit stiffer anyway than say a Cadillac. It’s no secret that the 300 uses a Mercedes E class suspension design from a few years ago. I like the ride as it is less fatiguing than a super plush bump free sort of thing. Anyway, it’s my second 300 and I feel it’s a good value for the price.

It was quiet, smooth, and comfortable, and the handling was pretty great in comparison to most sedans these days. I honestly looked into purchasing one and found several good deals on a current year model year CPO but just couldn’t bring myself to bite the bullet because of the stigma around FCA vehicles being junk. I have a 2014 300S, 3.6 RWD which is basically identical . I think for most people, All Wheel Drive is a waste of money and gives much worse fuel economy. Honestly, my 300 will cruise all day from 60-80 mph and will give me anywhere from 31 to 33 mpg = courtesy of the 8-speed transmission It is truly amazing. I drove it from NJ to South Florida (1,200 miles) and I only used about 37 gallons of gas, or basically 2 fill-ups. I used to have a 2004 Mini Cooper S JCW with a manual and the mpg on my Chrysler is almost identical on the highway (and the cooper requires premium fuel, which the 300 doesn’t). I have had it for exactly 5 years, with less than 50k miles and I have had zero issues with it. If I had to do it again, I would much rather buy a used one or a demo, because this body style has been around since 2011, and the cars are basically identical (the earlier V8’s didn’t come with the 8-speed. My car drives great, with plenty of power, has had zero issues and costs very little to operate. Looks cool too, but I am really surprised that Chrysler hasn’t updated the basic car in NINE YEARS!!

Just as "MoPar minivans " (300s / Chargers/ Challengers from Brampton, factory built by AMC, by the way, while the minivans from Windsor).
Main difference for using those Ontario towns (all of them Detroit suburbs) is not the quality, but the "loonies" as the Canadian dollar has historically been below the "buck" by a margin (right now a loonie is about U$0.76).

Thanks Mike for a good review. The 300 still shares the old chassis of the E-Class I think?? Which is not a bad thing. I noticed that FCA is still part sourcing MB window switches etc as a friend just bought a new Jeep Cherokee and they are the same switches I had in my 2003 MB C-class. As for 50k? Yep, that is way too much BUT if you think of it has an older E-Class for less money then it may work. I would not pay 50K for it.

I got a 2018 300s a little over a year ago and it was priced at just under 39,000. I don't have sensors (which means no automatic speed adjust in cruise control or park assist), and I don't have automatic wipers. I'm not aware of any other features that I don't have compared to this model. I don't think those features are worth an additional 11k, but you might.

If you fold the rear seats down it is possible to haul an 8'-0" piece of lumber or two on the inside and close the trunk
