The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Well there was a such thing as the little steps there were created by one of the original members for the Four StepBrothers Maceo Anderson.. I know this because my father was one of the stepbrothers and when they retired they wanted my dad to be apart of them but he said he was alot older then they were so he didn't want to do it.. My father replaced one of the other stepbrothers in the 1960's when Prince Spencer left the group and since my fathers name was Prince already they chose him..

Doing what the older Berry Brothers and Nicholas Brothers were doing many years before. Still great though.

@@tammyliggins2191 I knew some of the Step Brothers from StLouis. My cousin John Brooks was one of them. Thomas Gladden was another one. They performed on Ed Sullivan. I think they were called the Little Step Brothers. My cousin would be about 67 years old today.

The date is actually 10-Oct-1965, taped in Hollywood. May 7, 1970 is a Thursday, by the way. I think Sullivan did six shows in Hollywood because the theater in New York was being converted to Color Television. I don't think the Step Bros. were ever known as "The Little Step Brothers". Three Steps? Yes, in the early days. Four Steps? Yes. But the Little Steps? No, don't think so. EDIT - Now, I notice they *are* young, so maybe they are a spin off of the originals? Ed Sullivan did have the originals multiple times in the 50s. Would be nice to see one of those.

My dad (prince Bozeman) was with them when they did that. They were promoting the little steps. My dad is the last surviving member of the Four Stepbrothers.

@Flo Gladney Yes. My dad was the replacement of Prince Spencer. His stage name happened to be prince also. From 1964 or 65, my dad was the highlight of the performance until the four stepbrothers retired. He was the new young person on the crew. I think my dad watched out for the little steps. And yes, he is still alive with me in Kansas City, Kansas.

@Flo Gladney Maybe you can clear up something I am confused on. The 4 little steps on this Ed Sullivan program was Barney Adams, John Brooks, Ruben Crawford and Tom Gladney? Is this right. Around this same time there was an article in the St. Louis Post about Miss Pricilla Welch and her 5 sons, Alvin Cash, David, George Robert and Arthur Welsh. In the article it stated that Robert was in the Little Steps. Who did he replace? Is Robert in this film clip? What group were the other boys in that belong to Miss Welch that Maceo Anderson of the 4 Step Brothers signed contracts for her boys to. What was the Name of this Group? Thanks Michael
