Looks solid! Easy esthetic change
Thanks! I don’t think it looks bad with it on, just looks better with it off.
I like those custom steel toe sandals. I’ve also been debating on removing the double chin lol
I have since reinstalled mine. It maybe helps get an extra mpg or so. I think I prefer it with the chin on in stock form. But I go back and forth. If I were to get a bigger/wider rim/tire I would definitely remove it. But at least it’s east to take on and off. Not sure if you have seen the new 2024 Taco air dam’s. Those are bigger than the Hoover dam.
Beautiful truck 😍
Thanks!
The running board or rock slider makes it less rugged looking.
I prefer the look with the diffuser in place. Seems like something is missing without it.
Nice truck I’ve hit the trail pretty hard with mine and if you have to damage the diffuser probably wouldn’t do well backing up through the mud any case stay on the trail
Thanks for the tip. Good to know!
Nice truck! Have a 23 Lunar Sport arriving in a couple weeks..been waiting 7mo.!
Thanks! It’s been a great truck so far and have been happy with it. Glad I went with the lunar rock as its not as common. I also like how it appears to change color depending on the lighting conditions. It looks more grey at night/low light. The green comes through more with direct sunlight. 7 months is quite a wait. I only waited a little over 3 months for mine. Good luck when you get it!
i have a 20 sport, but am trading it in for a Solar Octane pro at the end of March!
@@legiitxlara awesome, congrats! I was a little iffy with that color when it came out but seeing it in person, it’s nice. Only seen a Tundra TRD Pro. Haven’t seen a Taco yet.
@@automatereviews yea me too, I also was thinking resale value. The limited colors tend to sell for more, if I ever plan on upgrading to the new gen in the future
Protect the paint. Lunar rock paint is the worst paint so far in the Tacoma line
Took mine off yesterday, I prefer it without the chin beard🤣
🤣🤣 my Taco been clean shaven for a few weeks now. Def not going back.
I feel like if somebody were set out to remove the diffuser, took a look under the bumper, and still needed a video to figure it out... Then they probably shouldn't be working on their truck. At that point they probably need to know to turn counter-clockwise to loosen the bolts.
Then again, you have to start somewhere. But removing a few bolts from plastic body part is about as straight forward as adjusting the volume on your stereo.
The one thing I did differently is I put the bolts back in afterwards. I think it looks a little more intentional than having holes under the bumper.
Yeah I know what you mean. It’s a very basic job to do. Changing a light bulb for the license plate is a lot harder. Some people just love to see someone else try it first in case they F*ck up they don’t do it to their thing they are working on. Good idea to put the hardware back on after removal.
I wonder if putting the screws back serve any purpose?
The diffuser is only for cosmetic/aero efficiency. The screws only hold that piece in place. Putting the screws back is just a convenient way to not loose them if you want to put it back on.
What is the name of the colour
Lunar Rock
I took that plastic garbage off the front of my 2022 Tacoma too. I also wish that it did not come with those stupid running boards. They make me have to reach my leg out further to get to the ground. Unfortunately they only had one truck on the lot and I needed a truck.
I'm thinking if I leave the running boards on, maybe I'll be able to get rid of this truck down the road when the market improves.
I absolutely hate the electronics they put into the new trucks. I really miss my 2012 tacoma, but it was becoming too expensive to maintain.
Yeah I hear yeah. Unfortunately the future of vehicles is getting more expensive and bogged down with electronics. By todays standards, the current Tacoma is somewhat basic.
What is the purpose of this plastic piece?
It’s a wind diffuser that helps reduce wind drag which improves fuel economy. Since I’ve removed it I would say my fuel economy dropped 1mpg. I don’t do a lot of highway but if I did I could see it knocking it down 2 mpg.
Weird, my 23 didn't come with one! I would've taken it off anyway. Salesman probably knew that.
That is strange. And it was a sport not the off-road model?
@@automatereviews I misunderstood, mine's an off road.
@@rkba4923 no problem that makes sense then. At least you saved some time and didn't have to remove yours lol.
Lame removing it. It aids stability at higher speed and
Help with gas mileage.
I’ve noticed about 1 mpg difference or so when I had it off. Which over time adds up of course.
Ha ha ha,
Steel Toe Sandals!
