Interesting that you've left the rest of the cabinet open for other storage. I have a double-wide cabinet. They specify screwing into the wall opposite the hinges, but I plan to screw into a 1x4 on the hinge side, sort of like what you have. I notice that there are no screws by the side support, but you could drill through the metal bracket and add a hole. Anyway, I feel more confident, having seen your build!
