10/10. Easy for me as I am ancient and was taught to spell properly! 🤣😂🇬🇧👍
I don't know how old you are I'm 71 and my wife reminds how old I am because she's only 59 but it's all in jest 👏🎉🇺🇸🦅🇬🇧💖🌞
@@philb6490. A few years older than you are 😀
Our age doesn't matter as long as everyday we wake up the grass is below us and not above us have a wonderful day and evening 👍🇺🇸🦅💖🇬🇧🌞😀
@@philb6490 Same here!
Thank you for the reply by the time I received this I'm assuming you're some where in Europe hope you have a great day👍🤣🇺🇸🦅💞🎉👏🌺
I got 10 out of 10 as well, but I was born in the late 50’s. It’s astonishing how young adults today misspell common words
74 year old. These were very easy.
It would be nice to see the correct spelling after each question.
No need. I know the correct spellings.
Look it up!
Better to wait until after the answer. Makes it more challenging.
Pretty easy quiz.
10/10 I am 71 and was taught well at school and at home. There is an argument that doctorial is actually correct, but that is NOT the case. There is no such word as doctorial in the Oxford Dictionary which is the definitive source of proper English. The word is doctoral.
Doctorial is NOT spelled incorrectly! There is a synonym for it, which is doctoral. But both spellings are valid...Look it up! My score was 9/9, because one question was invalid.
Hear, hear. This man is a fake or 'frord'.
Agreed!
Yeah I paused on that one since it was spelled correct.
@@lylis-dad"correctly"
QUOTE from INTERNET: Doctorial is an adjective that describes something related to a doctor or a doctorate degree.
10/10 but i come from a time when education in the US was considered top notch and highly valued
8 out of 10
If your top ten students couldn't find the mistakes, then your country is in dire straits!!! They are so easy to spot......
10/10.
All too easy.
9/10 tonight. Now, who else started singing the Oscar Mayer song to see if it spelled baloney / bologna. 😊
Actually I first read it as balcony.
Tangent: how many people here learned to spell "encyclopedia" from Jiminy Cricket?
@@user-cf1vb6op5hI also read it as balcony
10/10. Spelling was a priority in my early education.
Easy or not, good exercise and glad for that.
10/10 Can I just say 'well done' for getting the spelling of the word MISSPELLED right.
You wouldn't believe how many people actually spell it incorrectly when they do a quiz about this.
Just remember your pedantic English teacher, Miss Pell.
I always hesitate, not remembering if it needs a hyphen. (Mis-spelled)
9/10
10/10. I'm an avid reader, therefore a visual speller. I can tell right away which word is wrong because it just looks WRONG. I'm ancient also and opposed to texting because I think it will create a future full of people who only know how to abbreviate!
10/10 I'm very old and well schooled
8/10 reminds me of the first word in a grade school spelling Bee. Having scored 100’s on spelling for ages, I got ENOUGH. Drew a total blank, said enuf and went to sit down without waiting to be told that was wrong.
Lost 5th grade spelling bee because the word was pronounced kerAsene but spelled kerOsene.
@@jeffweed3947 My 5th grade faux pas was the word beautiful. I didn't get that there was an "a".
I got them all correct...but I'm old and my mother was a member of the grammar police!!!
10/10. Indicative of the effects of technology. I know first hand that even with spell check, they still turned in papers filled with spelling mistakes.
Reading books teaches spelling (as well as punctuation and grammar). Books have been replaced with computers in schools for the most part, especially reading for pleasure. Your test is easy for people who are regular book readers of any age.
I have always read voraciously but I can’t spell worth beans. My teachers were always confounded by it.
@@colleenobrien8212 You're the exception to the rule. Glad you love to read!
10 out of 10 awesome quiz thanks for another great quiz ❤❤😊😊keep it 👍 coming
10/10 aged 86.
If you were born in the early 50's like me, you probably aced this. I questioned my son's school about the lack of spell checking in the 80's. They said spelling was not important. As long as the child knew the word it was good enough.
I got a perfect score!!!
IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU GAVE THE CORRECT SPELLING FOR EACH WORD.
Too difficult to tap the word into your phone or pad to get a correction?
You are supposed to look it up, then it sticks and you will remember the next time.
8/10. I missed doctoral.
8 out of 10 correct
Whether spelling, grammar or syntax I can suss out something wrong a mile away! How? I read books ALL THE TIME!
I’m a good speller , but only 5/10
I’m the same! Everyone here is saying how easy it was, but in a quiz like this it’s easy to overthink things. I think a lot of people would find it difficult actually.
i got em all:)
10/10.😊
10/10 thanks
10/10 , but then I read all the time.
10/10
83 years old. Taught dictation from the age of six in Perth, Scotland so it was easy to score 10/10
10/10 @ 2X Playback Speed
Pasteurised is also wrong, but I presume that you'll excuse that by being Merkan. And of course misspelt is misspelt in the title.
Depends what country you're from.
@@jvallas The language is called English, no matter which country you're butchering it in. 😉
@@arkadybron1994I refuse to take language correction from a country that cops a superior attitude when anyone doesn't find it intuitively obvious that "Leicester" is pronounced "Lester", but refers to the Central American country of "Nik-a-rag-yew-a" and drives "Jag-yew-ars".
@@user-cf1vb6op5h What you have to realise, is that English is a hybrid language and so much of it's pronunciation comes from French German Dutch Danish Hindi and so on. And also within this tiny island there are hundreds of accents, dialect variations and localisations. So when it comes right down to it, the correct pronunciation for any word, is whatever your mum said it was.
@@arkadybron1994 I'm fine with that. My problem is with those who get snooty and insist you're "wrong" If you're not saying it THEIR way, but feel free to ignore what other countries call themselves.
Missed the last one. My cat interfered! Lol! 😅😂
I got all of them except the first one.
I got ten out of ten correct. 😁😎😉👍👍👏👏
10 out of 10. Easy.
10/10 Nailed it.
They're assumong a certain level of knowledge

Been there, done that! 😂🤣😂💕👍
I agree
Love this! Love the sip of drink too
10/10...
Ten of ten
Missed one.
Was not difficult.Got all right.
9/10 good one
10, but as an Australian, there are quite a few American spellings in there that would be incorrect for us. Microsoft autocorrect has taught us which to avoid lol.
10/10.
10/10 this morning.
7/10, but English is not my first language :)
Nailed it. Easy
I got 9 out of 10, school through the 70 & 80s, 2 yr college.
I am not gifted at spelling but most of these were easy. I can recognize the misspelled word.
10/10 highly visual speller..
9/10 my second language.
Yay....10/10.....🤣😂👍🤘.
Easy. And English is not even my native language.
'doctorial' is an adjective describing things related to a doctor just like 'doctoral'.
10/10, guess we,were taught well in school
Got them all
9/10 thank you 🇿🇦
9 out of 10 not bad
10/10. Was fun.
Easy. ‘Top student’ doesn’t mean a lot these days
10/10. I learned to spell from nuns back in the 50’s and 60’s. We had spelling homework every day.
Me too! All that homework was tough at the time, but I’m grateful for it now👍
@@valeriethomas4168I hated Catholic school at the time, but looking back I am grateful for this: whatever else, you WILL have at LEAST the basics before you leave. I could have done without the brainwashing and guilt, but I remain grateful to them for teaching me to read.
Bummer . . . 8/10.
I got all of them correct. In the 1950s we learned those words in the 5th grade. Modern high school grads would have difficulty. (Leftists will say this test is discriminatory.)
8/10
10 correct, but born 1947 tells you everything
9 of 10
10/10❤❤❤ have a lovely day
9 out of 10 right.
10 out of 10. Because we didn't have spell check to bail us out.
I got one wrong. I blame dementia.
I caught nine out of ten.
I'm terrible at science and geography, among other things, but misspelled words nearly always jump out at me. I know everyone isn't the same, it's just the way my brain works. All those misspelled words were obvious to me. (At first, I couldn't figure out what the heck is the word desolve?? 😁)
I know what you mean. Sometimes a single word in the middle of a page of print.
7/10
10/10 @ 75
I got 10 out of 10. I've somehow always been able to correctly spell even words I've never heard of before, so this one was easy.
Got a 10
😂😂😂 oh goodness, how fun…
#9 - “doctorial” is a correct spelling, as an adjective, as in “There were ten doctorial candidates.”
The typical spelling in the U.S. is "doctoral," but another commenter pointed out that "doctorial" is its synonym. I hadn't known that. (Didn't autocorrect change it when you typed "doctorial?" If you use an iOS device. it did for me.)
Too bad about the comma fault in the lead-in for all ten questions.
I got them all correct, but I began reading when I was three years old and have always had a thing for spelling. Boomer here.
I’m a boomer too. I always won spelling bees. Not bragging, I just love words. 🎉100%. 10/10
I strongly believe "constant" readers usually have a higher chance of recognizing misspellings.
I missed three
I am 76 and got 2wrong
I missed one, the last one.
Missed 2
Yep. I’m old.
Doctorial, doctoral. Arent both valid?
There is no such word as doctorial in the Oxford Dictionary which is the definitive source of proper English.
Easy words for English major
😒I pride myself on my good spelling and grammar, but I only got 8 out of 10 correct. How humbling!
Teaching spelling is not done anymore, so it’s not a surprise that the boomers are doing well, others not so much. I recently found out that my grandson in grade 3 has also not learned cursive writing. All my fellow boomers probably remember how much time we spent in practising our handwriting. But then again, the only time I write anymore is to sign my name🙄
I missed #9
The truly sad thing is that spellcheck will catch and correct most of these misspellings, only people are too lazy to use it.
C'mon, this was ridiculously easy (10/10). For a better challenge, try speaking the word and see if the viewer can spell it.
I missed one.
