Many seem to believe that because they do it for 8 hours a day they’re somehow good at it when in fact they often display the worst behaviours and attitudes. We need these drivers for our economies to function, we just don’t need them to think they are any better than other road users. (Consider: many of us do “their” job on the way to and from “our” job)

That pickup must've been moving at WELL above whatever the speed limit was (likely 45) to hit that hard and roll that many times.
Hopefully the person in the black car saw death incoming and leaned away from the impact... (i.e. weren't stuck nose deep in their phone)

The force of a vehicle's weight acts downward through the center of mass in the opposite direction. Also, the higher the center of gravity and mass of a vehicle means the easier it is to become unstable. Sideways momentum is very difficult to stop. When it comes to collisions the force of a collision causes a car's center of gravity to ship, tipping the vehicle over. The force of the collision doesn't just bump a car onto its side, but causes a car to roll until the momentum has subsided.

Some government official gave these people their license and it pains me to say that it was their worst mistake
problem is, you only have to pass a simple driving test, with only a few months worth of actually training. if it was required by law that you cant have a DL until your 21st birthday and you have to sit in a year of classes to drive, taught by certified pros, then you can try and test out, if you fail twice, no DL for you. if you mess up and get into an accident and it is deemed your fault your DL is removed until you take another years worth of classes and if you fail the first try, you can no longer drive.

This is actually a very common thing with automatic vehicles. Because they have "passive" throttle due to the slip clutch, where the vehicle will naturally accelerate and move forward (or rearward, if in reverse gear) at a low speed if neither gas or brake applied, slow-speed control (for example, in a parking lot or drive through lane) in an automatic is often achieved by moderating the brake pedal (with no throttle applied at all), rather than the gas pedal. The brain, through association with other driving experience, decides that if the current pedal usage is making the car go forwards, the other pedal must make it stop, resulting in some people swapping and hitting the gas pedal when intending to stop. And because the vehicle surprisingly (to the driver) accelerates instead of stopping, they panic a bit and try to press harder on the "brake" and accelerate even more rapidly.
Also, contrary to the casual sexism above, the rate of this occurring does not appear to be strongly gendered, though it occurs much more commonly in both older (>60) and younger (

He stopped at a cafe along with some other bike club members on the way to a rally, he had a pair of brand new expensive Krauser hard panniers on the bike. As he put it on the centre stand, the bike fell away from him and crashed on its side damaging the side pannier. He stormed round to pick it up swearing profusely and started to pick the bike up, only to “over do it” and the bike fell away again and landed on the opposite side crashing down and damaging the other pannier🤣🤣🤣. At least he ended up with a matching damaged set. To make matters worse he was not alone, the whole scene was witnessed by a crowd of fellow bikers-it was so funny!!🤣🤣🤣

Watching some of these makes me realise why the US has the highest rate of road deaths in the developed world. Many of the intersections are death traps for unattentive drivers. You rarely see those road layouts in Europe, especially on a high-speed highway. About 20 years ago, they finished a two-lane highway in my area in the UK with a maximum speed of 70. Part of it bypassed Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyndrobwllllantiseiliogogogoch but they kept the turning into the village, so people could cross from one carriageway right across the other to get to the village. There were 2 or 3 fatal accidents there in a couple of years under similar circumstances to some of the accidents we see in these videos. So the council blocked off that entrance to the village and traffic got redirected through the old road.
A large chunk of these clips are from countries outside the USA. We don't make death traps... We make mortal injury traps! They are much more profitable.

The US has the highest death count - but only comes out 'average' on a per-capita basis. Other 'developed' countries have far lower numbers but much higher per-capita fatalities. Particularly those 'developed' countries that have not adopted the insane numbers of safety features the US has made mandatory.
Our cost-per-event, however, is triple that of any other country on the globe, however.

You're about 5 or 6 times more likely to die on American roads than in the UK, for example. You shouldn't be trying to compare the US with somewhere in Africa and saying "good enough." Do you know what's insane? Allowing 14 year olds to drive. Apparently American driving tests are also incredibly easy, so any idiot is allowed behind the wheel. In the UK, you have to do two tests. A driving test that I think these days lasts up to an hour and a theory test where you have to get something like 95% to pass. It's not unknown for people to fail the test 30 times. And you can't drive until you're 17. I'm sure much of Europe is similar. American exceptionalism is a death trap. By my calculations, the US loses a million citizens from lax traffic and gun laws every 15 years. That's absolutely insane.

All of these seem to be a result of, in order,
1) Going WAY too fast
2) Doing something really, really stupid.
3) Not paying attention.
4) Poor road conditions.
5) A combination of 2 or more of the above.
There's valuable lessons to be learned here folks.
