Pretty similar, though I'd put Monaco at A because back when the cars were smaller there were some good races there, Austria and Netherlands would also be A
I personally think the point of both Monaco and Mexico being on the calendar have been at least partially missed here. While neither the top produce particularly spectacular racing, they're both necessary inclusions because they test the car and driver in a way no other track does, they force the designers to take into account things that they otherwise wouldn't and force the drivers to prepare in ways that aren't the norm for them. Singapore, Monza and Sochi are all far more important than people realise because they're the extremes the cars are built to, though in the case of Sochi it 1) obviously has to remain cancelled in the current political environment and 2) could be easily replaced in that role with any other track that tests cold weather performance. You see it in the mixed up grids, the fatigue in the drivers, the amount of these that become races of attrition, Monaco '96 isn't the only time less than half the grid has finished there
Mexico is a circuit of two halves... the first half up to turn 6 is pretty good but from turn 6 to the finish line it doesn't produce anything interesting race-wise.
@@soundscape26 I think you're missing the point. The track itself is not spectacular after T6, sure. But the location is everything here. And that's the point.
@@soundscape26 it's not about producing an entertaining race, it's about testing how cars and drivers deal with the low oxygen levels and air density and catching or those who sacrifice it to have better performance elsewhere
@@BurningmonkeyGTR I think these rankings should reflect the potential of the circuits to hold good races, that's what makes a circuit well liked... or disliked. If you want to subject the drivers to different challenges at the expense of an entertaining race that's another thing... but while I would keep Monaco for those exact same reasons (plus history), I would get rid of Singapore in a heartbeat.
As a Hungarian i am speaking against my own country, but the Hungaroring is a potential place of borefest. The last few years are easily forgetting how technical, narrow and generally just hard to pass anyone, apart of turn 1. And if just not happening something special, its just a 70 laps yawning. Im surprised the A grade, i would put that track around C.
Don't know about S, sometimes there's too much chaos, sometimes just enough other times nothing at all. I'd say A though because 3 races there were things of beauty!

S Interlagos, Suzuka, Silverstone, Baku (The best street circuit) A Canada, Monza, Spa, Austria, Bahrain, COTA B Hungary (A-ish especially in the last few races), Singapore, Jeddah, Albert Park C Zandvoort, Yas Marina, Miami, Imola (There are moments of brilliance but races during the new era in Imola are somewhat boring if it hadn't been for climate changes, the layout is too narrow) D Monaco (A for history though and the quali is good but the race is a snoozefest), Catalunya, Qatar, Mexico. Not Rating Vegas right now but I don't it think will disappoint.
I think Vegas should have gotten an Incomplete since the race hasn't happened yet and no I'm not counting the 1981 and 1982 races in Vegas since that was a different track.
I'd change Austria to A, Canada to S, and Spa to A. Canada is a great track with an old-school vibe. Austria is just so consistent in producing good races. Spa is a great track and Eau Rouge is probably the greatest corner of the year for pure driving but there is a legitimate argument for safety, with just last week seeing another death at this circuit in the junior categories. It also doesn't produce that much wheel to wheel racing. I also think you should have held off on ranking Vegas.
How does Hungary (A) get a higher rating than Austria (B) LIKE what in the WTF1 is that Hungary is all strategy and some passing on the main straight and nearly side by side into turn 2 and maybe 4 Austria is also strategy you get passing on 3 straights, and into corners 2,3,4,5,6 with side by side action possible in turns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
Nothing against the new crop, but this video would’ve been so much better as a podcast like video with Matt, Tommy and Katie other than a rushed overview of a whole twitch stream
You out spa as S, but when was the last truly great race there? 2010 for me. The hype kills the race when everyone expects and banger but it never delivers, it is, if anything, the biggest disappointment in that it never delivers the excitement
Of course Lossail will be a C or even D for me. It wasn't built for car racing anyway, Lossail is one of those circuits purposefully built only for motorcycle racing. Once cars being raced there, surely it won't deliver any spectacular actions.
I’d prefer to see a ranking that reflects your beliefs, not just saying what you think we want to hear. 😂 Austria is my favourite circuit for its beautiful surroundings, simple and fast layout and numerous overtaking opportunities. Jeddah deserves a slightly higher rating too, take all the politics away, watching onboards there is a treat. The sense of speed is unlike any other track. It’s what Monaco wants to be. The racing isn’t even half bad either, just look at the Alpine scrap of last year, sick! Also, every country we race at has some political and ethnical problem, so we could make an argument for not racing in any country.
Overall not too bad on the rankings. I would put Miami in D because the race itself was just awful. Monza should definitely being the S category (for speed).
To be fair. Last season spain made a great Weekend up to us. Maybe due to the changes maybe luck. If this years spain is as good as last year it deserves a B
Nah Dre you are bang on with Monaco... it's shit. Qualifying is great because one tiny mistake can ruin it for a driver so its high risk. Race (2022 aside due to the rain and change in tyres) is usually boring as hell. Even at the 2022 race once it went to slicks nothing happened
Monza and Baku are S in my opinion. Monaco is B, not good racing but it is part of the Crown Jewel and you have to respect that, not good, not terrible.
miami, spain, netherlands and mexico should be D, monaco c as the quali is incredible and las vegas B as ITS VEGAS Down the strip at night and heaps of overtaking zones
Good, Monaco got a D rating! It just needs to go, there's no way you can race around there properly. In fact, even on the videogame F1 20xx series, I just cannot fathom how people can drive around the Monaco streets! I know I can't make it around even a 5 lap race without getting some sort of damage, let alone a whole 78 laps, the most laps of any circuit.
Sorry but what race did you watch last year in Imola? Rain made it interesting??! It was literally a snore fest for 95% of the time with cars stuck in a procession.
My favourite track is Brazil and my least favourite is Monaco (Las Vegas could become that as they want to recreate that in the us but without the history)
Genuinely surprised Dre didn't mention that the bus stop chicane in spain isn't going to be ran this year. Considering this is the 2023 calendar tier list, you'd think that would be mentioned.... and brought the grade up a bit since all years prior that chicane was what people sighted as the biggest problem with Barcelona. E- for research if they didn't know
We still have to wait and see how that translates on the track. It wouldn't be the first time a change is made to a track to improve the racing that in practice ends up not doing anything.
I know the new team is doing their best, but the videos here are just sounding like the The Race with some banter here and there. The fun and casual vibe to it are not there yet. I am struggling to keep my interests for the channel, but I will hold my final judgment on their IBR and Post-race pod.
Having been at COTA twice and driven it several times, I can assure you that it should be an S. It has fast zones, technical zones and lots of opportunities for passing. You WTF guys need to revisit your rankings. Not sure you can be trusted if you missed COTA as an S.
Monaco needs its own category, either E or Z to differentiate how terrible it is from the rest. It’s a boring race and no longer fit for purpose, I get the prestige but would gladly trade Monaco for Hockenhiem, Nurburgring, Istanbul or Sepang any day of the week.
Not sure there's any point in ranking Vegas with nothing to go from. And if you're docking it for "what it represents", then how do Saudi and Qatar finish above it? Makes no sense. Either give it an average B until it proves itself, or leave it off the tier list altogether.
S tier: Interlagos, Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka, Monza; A tier: Red Bull Ring, Bahrain, Cota, Gilles Villeneuve; B tier: Jeddah, Imola, Catalunya, Baku, Melbourne; C tier: Hungaroring, Zandvoort, Losail, Mexico City; D tier - Monaco, Yas Marina, Marina Bay, Miami. Can't rate Las Vegas as we haven't seen any racing on the track yet.
Hungaroring seems like a C on paper but it has given us some great races for the past years. I also think Miami deserves more than a D pending a couple more races for a proper evaluation. On the other hand I would send Singapore straight to D level. I like Monaco but get why many don't.
@@soundscape26 Hungaroring was always a bit of a hit and miss for me. When it's good, it's really good (like in 2021) but when it's not - it's more fun to watch paint dry. Also, I haven't noticed that I actually put Singapore in C. Time to edit!
All the "S" tracks are literally "S" tracks. Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka and Sao Paulo... Bit SUS if you ask me. But nah I agree. They are the 4 best! As for the Ds. Mexico is one of only a few races in my actual time zone and it is the only race of the year aside from Japan (which was at like 3am for me), that I fell asleep...3x. Mexico was so boring. Off track fans and activities were far more exciting than the actual Mexican Grand Prix. I feel like if you fall asleep and wake up and you've missed literally nothing, that's a problem. My top last year was definitely Silverstone. Action packed all the way through and most people, at least that I know, ranked it or Brazil as no. 1.
Monaco is never a D. Should always be on the f1 calender
we should've gone to megeullo instead of imola
My opinion (NOTE. This is my opinion!S tier: COTA, Spa, Monza, Suzuka, Silverstone, Imola, Interlagos
A tier: Albert Park, Mexico City, Montreal, Sakhir, Baku, Zandvoort, Spielberg
B tier: Singapore, Miami, Monaco, Abu Dhabi, Mogyorod (Hungary)
C tier: Barcelona, Lusail, Jeddah
TBD: Las Vegas
Bring back Sepang! Another thing, if they want Monaco to be interesting for the future they should make it a special grand prix where all teams same specs like F2. It would be about the driver, strategy, and tuning by the engineers.
Mostly agreed, except Monza - S, Silerstone - B, Hungary - B, Monaco - E
They gave Silverstone an S
@@satyamsaboo156 I know, these are mine, as requested at the end of the video
The British gp has been one of the best races for the last few years and throughout my time as an F1 fan. I agree with the rest though
so glad matt is gone. worst monotonous intonations I've had the chance to experience.
Not giving Monza an S is criminal!
The track has it all: History, passes, drama, unpredictability, speed and the greatest atmosphere in the calendar!
That might be true, but the layout itself is very dull...
If you start from the back, you’re almost guaranteed to finish at the back. Shit track to compete, good track to race
@@freedom_born Not really, many big teams take engine penalties at Monza (or Spa) because they know they have the pace to carve through the field and still get a decent result.
@@TheSpotify95 yeah I think I got confused I was probably thinking of Monaco. I saw Mo.. and instantly thought Monaco. Now that read my reply, I'm like wtf Monza is relatively easy to finish first from the back. At Monaco you have to rely on other cars fckng up.
Monaco is not a good track for racing but it's still very fun to see them drive around the track, I would have given it a B or C, definitely not D
nah mate, with the size of modern cars there is little to nothing happening during the race
Same, it’s not a good track for racing, but when I see a good overtake in Monaco, it will be a lot of fun watching it. I’ll give it a B.
Monaco is easily B
Monaco is only interesting on saturday. I'm not 5 years old and impressed by the bling bling. Get rid of it!
Yes, I would give it a B as well.
Have they not removed the last chicane in Spain? With that change it’s going to be easily an A tier track
Nah they didn’t do it
@@dodo8999 they did
@@dodo8999 they announced they will not run the bus stop chicane
Pretty similar, though I'd put Monaco at A because back when the cars were smaller there were some good races there, Austria and Netherlands would also be A
After watching the Rolex 24 at Daytona Beach it's difficult to call F1 racing.
You see it in the mixed up grids, the fatigue in the drivers, the amount of these that become races of attrition, Monaco '96 isn't the only time less than half the grid has finished there
Coild not agree with you more on all points.
Same goes for Malaysia with the humidity.
But maybe the removal of the chicane at spain could do the circuit some good
I disagree with some ratings like Monaco which I love because of its history and Abu Dhabi which as a Hamilton fan I liked until 2021.
There should be tier D,C,B,A,S and a Belgium section.
I agree on the LA race being D, but giving that rating based on what it represents and not doing the same for Miami is a bit unfortunate
What exactly does it represent?
As a Hungarian i am speaking against my own country, but the Hungaroring is a potential place of borefest. The last few years are easily forgetting how technical, narrow and generally just hard to pass anyone, apart of turn 1. And if just not happening something special, its just a 70 laps yawning. Im surprised the A grade, i would put that track around C.
Baku deserves an S the controversies, the last minute overtakes, fastest straight in the calendar. So exciting!!!!
Don't know about S, sometimes there's too much chaos, sometimes just enough other times nothing at all. I'd say A though because 3 races there were things of beauty!
If this were my tier list, I would put Monza, Monaco and Spain as S + Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, and Imola as A + Hungary and Cota as B.
I still have both hopes for WTF1. But I really want to know where I can find the guys now. Also, how much engagement is WTF1 getting because of their departure
Look for P1 with Matt and Tommy! Theyre back
S Interlagos, Suzuka, Silverstone, Baku (The best street circuit)
A Canada, Monza, Spa, Austria, Bahrain, COTA
B Hungary (A-ish especially in the last few races), Singapore, Jeddah, Albert Park
C Zandvoort, Yas Marina, Miami, Imola (There are moments of brilliance but races during the new era in Imola are somewhat boring if it hadn't been for climate changes, the layout is too narrow)
D Monaco (A for history though and the quali is good but the race is a snoozefest), Catalunya, Qatar, Mexico.
Not Rating Vegas right now but I don't it think will disappoint.
Why did you say "WE like Silverstone" weird. No hate tho. Pretty valid tier list
Giving Vegas a D ranking is pretty dumb tbh.
I would have had a further category for Miami. 'Carpet bomb the crap out of it'
I know that Monaco is a boring race 99.99% of the time, but putting it lower than Spain is blasphemous
Those starting with s are often indeed s
Silverstone Spa Sepang Singapore Suzuka
I like how you immediately admitted to being British-biased upon ranking Silverstone an S-tier circuit
Silverstone is an easy D
I think Vegas should have gotten an Incomplete since the race hasn't happened yet and no I'm not counting the 1981 and 1982 races in Vegas since that was a different track.
Ricardo waited for los Vegas GP but sad part he isn't racing
Is this even an f1 channel when they say they want to see chaos and not say anything about the actual racing itself....
Am I the only one here who doesn't care who the narrator is?
yes.

No

yes, tom was the one
How does Hungary (A) get a higher rating than Austria (B)
LIKE what in the WTF1 is that
Hungary is all strategy and some passing on the main straight and nearly side by side into turn 2 and maybe 4
Austria is also strategy you get passing on 3 straights, and into corners 2,3,4,5,6 with side by side action possible in turns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
This is pretty close to spot on, I think. I might argue a couple of minor changes, but I wouldn't complain if this were the final result.
Tier list without that typical tier list format doesn't seem right to me.. eg you can't compare the tracks since it's hard to keep track of ratings
We need Germany back on the calendar. Unbelievable that it got completely off the track list!
fact: 3 out of 4 tracks from s tier starts with the letter S
Almost 4 if you remember that Interlagos is in Sao Paulo. :P
Monza not being a S was disappointing
I love Monza but definitely not an S tier for the current cars
@@MahmoudHAhmad neither is spa
I agree with nearly all of this I would probably put Australia in A. I know Monaco as a race is boring, but its about the atmosphere really.
The music is too loud guys... please lower it a bit so we can hear what they are trying to say.
That ain't British bias, Silverstone will forever be S tier
Monza and Baku are S in my opinion. Monaco is B, not good racing but it is part of the Crown Jewel and you have to respect that, not good, not terrible.
miami, spain, netherlands and mexico should be D, monaco c as the quali is incredible and las vegas B as ITS VEGAS Down the strip at night and heaps of overtaking zones
Great video! I would like to see a bit more ethusiasm in the voice but other than that I'm liking the new team
2:07 the exact moment I unsubscribed, ranking Monaco alongside with Abu Dhabi is disrespectful
Jeddah is a very good circuit
I love Jeddah, too bad it's in fuckin Saudi Arabia and all the politics makes people hate it by default
@@hjjubnh tbh everything is politics
@@rayyansheik5734 Racing doesnt involve politics and between its the fastest street circuit with most epic races
Sorry but what race did you watch last year in Imola? Rain made it interesting??! It was literally a snore fest for 95% of the time with cars stuck in a procession.
Zandvoort at C is just illegal. One of the best tracks to drive on. Overtaking not too good but still good places to do it
S is for special:
- Silverstone
- Spa
- Suzuka
- Senna's circuit ;) ;)
@@ThatLaloBoy This wouldn't be the first time that the chicane wasn't used though. 2007 and earlier the chicane wasn't used
I honestly haven't read anything about the removal of the chicane for 2023.
@@soundscape26 fully confirmed the last chicane is gone
@Skeleratis chicane is officially out
I know the new team is doing their best, but the videos here are just sounding like the The Race with some banter here and there. The fun and casual vibe to it are not there yet.
I am struggling to keep my interests for the channel, but I will hold my final judgment on their IBR and Post-race pod.
Rating a track that has yet to host a race was an odd choice.
Having been at COTA twice and driven it several times, I can assure you that it should be an S. It has fast zones, technical zones and lots of opportunities for passing. You WTF guys need to revisit your rankings. Not sure you can be trusted if you missed COTA as an S.
I think it's not cause it doesn't have history, and as much fan status.if you ranked in terms of pure layout, the list would look a lot different.
You can't rank a track without seeing a race on it
Saudi is an S or an A a fast flowing street circuit providing incredible entertainment
Sochi is very good too bad we don't have it though.
Monaco needs its own category, either E or Z to differentiate how terrible it is from the rest. It’s a boring race and no longer fit for purpose, I get the prestige but would gladly trade Monaco for Hockenhiem, Nurburgring, Istanbul or Sepang any day of the week.
Wtf1 doesn’t have the same energy as matt and old team have.
Not sure there's any point in ranking Vegas with nothing to go from. And if you're docking it for "what it represents", then how do Saudi and Qatar finish above it? Makes no sense. Either give it an average B until it proves itself, or leave it off the tier list altogether.
2:22 what about now that they removed the last chicane from Spain GP?
Wow Imola B and Silverstone S wow
I will be skipping Singapore this year. I hated it in ‘22
Replace Las Vegas with Laguna Seca and replace Abu Dhabi with the Dubai Autodrome
S tier: Interlagos, Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka, Monza;
A tier: Red Bull Ring, Bahrain, Cota, Gilles Villeneuve;
B tier: Jeddah, Imola, Catalunya, Baku, Melbourne;
C tier: Hungaroring, Zandvoort, Losail, Mexico City;
D tier - Monaco, Yas Marina, Marina Bay, Miami.
The politics of Jeddah arent at all hard to ignore, in fact i never thought about them till this video, and probably wont ever again
They should race Monaco in karts.
All the "S" tracks are literally "S" tracks. Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka and Sao Paulo... Bit SUS if you ask me. But nah I agree. They are the 4 best! As for the Ds. It'll never happen but I'd rather see Monaco dropped so that Mugello or one of the German tracks can return to the calendar, or drop Miami.
Canada isn't a A,Carlos Sainz last year was setting quicker laps than verstappen but due to the track characteristics he just couldn't do it,now You Are Putting Monza in the same Tier, this makes no sense.
And at least the Netherlands is not a C nor is Austria a B,common don't be biased at least
Austria and Australia are both A/S and Monza is S, but fairly good tier list
