I’m making this video to answer one of the most asked questions from the Campus Crawl series “Harvard University versus Stanford University, which one is better?”
Btw if you are new, Campus Crawl is a series where I take you to the top universities in the world and show you the student day in the life, and of course, the college campus!
So after visiting Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Columbia, Yale, Brown, NYU, UCLA and UC Berkeley and interviewing dozens of students, I think now I have a good enough understanding of what makes a great university experience. Harvard and Stanford both definitely rank at the top. If you get admitted to either university, congratulations!!

Stanford proves you can have it all. Great academics, great high paying job prospects, great athletics, and great to decent weather as it does get mildly cold in the winter, but no extremes. I believe that Stanford is the Harvard of the future, maybe even of the now. Stanford is only 135 years old while Harvard is 384 and are right there with Harvard Academically. That says a lot. Stanford is catching up to Harvard on global recognition, but again Harvard has a 249 year head start.

Don't think it as a competition. Think it as a tradition.
New schools can be founded and develop the way Stanford or MIT are doing. But the first school is still the first school. Nothing can change. Harvard is like JP Morgan and Stanford is like Google. Yes, it's new and growing fast. But look at Yahoo and Nokia. New tech was born and replaced the old easily. So don't underestimate the old that still can stand today. I call it legacy and tradition.
By the way, today Silicon Valley Bank collapsed today lol I feel like Stanford is on trend recent years. People are talking about tech too much and forget humanities.

Stanford student here. The only thing I would add that I think you missed is living in silicon valley is one of the most expensive places to live in the US. I think the Stanford bubble is more a result of how expensive it is to go anywhere else for something fun. But there are plenty of amazing things to do in silicon valley... if you can afford them. Also I find it funny you had Mark Zuckerberg as a famous Harvard alum speaker in the video since he lives and works in silicon valley you actually have a better chance of finding him around Stanford 😂

@@hotdang8885 He did drop out of Harvard to start Facebook, and eventually got an honorary degree a few years back. But I was just commenting on the fact that the video listed him as a famous Harvard alum.

It really depends on what fields you want to study or which professors you'd like to work with .
Our son went to Stanford for undergraduate and MS, now doing PhD at Harvard. We have experienced both Harvard and Stanford Universities for the past six years, and I agree with you, Hafu. If you are a science/math kid, no school can hardly beat Stanford, although Harvard has some tie with MIT. If you are liberal art student, both are good.
If you are a serious athlete, definitely go to Stanford. Our son was a "walk on athlete" at Stanford and became one of the Team USA athletes. I don't think it happened if he chose Harvard. Stanford coaches know how to train Olympic athletes.
You can be a Rhode Scholar, Phi Beta Kappa, All American and an Olympian in one life, it is possible at Stanford, but probably not at Harvard.
The other places you may want to look at also are Oxford and Cambridge, I think.
One last advice is don't let tuition or scholarship decide your school. You are not buying some product here. You are choosing what you wish to achieve in your academic life. Climb your Everest. Good luck.

This is a Great video! I agree Harvard has more of a name recognition around the world and it’s the oldest university in the US . Stanford though is right in the Silicon Valley and that’s a brand recognition around the world in itself .

Stanford is the nicest campus ever, it's yugggeee. With that said, I'll go Harvard for undergrad, then Stanford for grad school.
Ah, I think these are the best campuses, Cornell, Berkeley, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Oxford, UVA, Dartmouth, Brown, Duke and Cambridge. Architecturally, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge. But in terms of rural landscape, Cornell, Princeton and UVA. Cheers.

You should definitely travel to the uk and check out oxford, Cambridge, Imperial college London and UCL. They’re all world class universities and the first 3 are in the top 10 globally!

I'm far too stupid to go to college but being in the University of Life is plenty stressful and challenging in and of itself.
Easy choice - stanford. I would chose Duke, Boston U, NYU, Cornell over harvard.
I feel that the name of Harvard University is more famous than Stanford University ...
But I want to ask, which of these 2 universities is better in terms of Business and Economics?
My dad majored in economics at stanford, and the education you het is pretty similar to Harvard’s. They’re both great schools, and in the business world a stanford degree holds as much prestige and a harvard degree. A lot of my dad’s friends did both though. They did their undergrad years at stanford and their grad years at harvard
Gabriel Tamba Harvard is definitely better for business. For economics they are probably similar, but if you want to work in banking etc, reputation of the uni is very important, so harvard would be better.

Harvard is more popular in Government and Economics , Math. Stanford computer science and Engineering . California has better weather , Boston/Cambridge has a lot more history.

I would give the best advice for genius ones. Don't go to Harvard. I admit, it is hard to get into Harvard but it's easy to study at Harvard. What makes you more competitive is the study background at a certain university. If you want to excel in academics and get the most out of your education at advanced level, my greatest list for you would be
1. Oxford
2. MIT
3. Stanford
That is it. Period. One of the most top ranked universities for your career are given above. Choose for yourselves.

Looking at the rankings from various sources, overall, Stanford University has surpassed Harvard by a considerable margin in academics for the past 10 years.
One of them, I will go to one of them. Or another good University. I will.

When I was in 4th grade one of my teacher used to like me a lot. One day she even told the whole class that " Someday I will get accepted into Harvard ". But that time I don't used to know what is Harvard. And now I realize it. I think I should study hard and try my best to get accepted in Harvard cause I want my teacher's words to be correct.

By the way, it took a long process for me to get into Harvard. I got a 1600 on my SAT and 35 on my ACT and a 4.8 GPA. The acceptance rate was still low but somehow I still passed it. 4 years later, turns out I got a degree from Harvard and currently looking for a high paying job.

I graduated from Stanford in 1981 with a masters degree in Political Science. I also got into Brown. I did not apply to Harvard. Stanford is an amazing place. Most people don’t want to leave there, ever.
