    Stumbled across this then went out and took my hubs out and lubed them. A great reminder! Remember if you get water up to your hubs it's a really great idea to pull them out, clean them up and lube them. That was a heck of job getting the guts of the hubs out of there. Glad you got it done.

    So I have a 6.4 and I'm pretty sure it's the pvh solenoid cuz mine will engage no issue but one side will not disengage when I switch off the 4 wheel drive, unless I pull out the vacuum line leading to that hub and I can hear the air equalize and then the hub will free spin,
    Does this sound like a good diagnosis? That it is the pvh solenoid? Thank you in advance

    • @PowerstrokeBoiz
      @PowerstrokeBoiz  Před 2 lety

      Pulling the line doesn’t “ equalize “ the pressure. Your bleeding the pressure off by creating a leak. You have a bad/seal that’s not releasing. One side is fine. Means other hub needs to be replaced

    So i do have a question maybe y’all can give me some advice, i have a 2010 f250 6.4 diesel the truck has the hubs locked in but when selecting 4 high or low on the dash it does not engage neither does the dash light indicate that, even if it had a vacuum leak i manually engaged the hubs, would i be having a problem with the actuator or the transfer case motor? Or would the light only come on from the actuator and transfer case motor confirming it engaged. All connections on the transfer case motor are clean and dirt free.

  • @Damian.wagner
    @Damian.wagner Před 11 měsíci

    Okay the vacuum pump is necessary to operate your heater control.. however you don't really need the vacuum selector for four-wheel drive unless you're either handicap or just plain lazy.. I have bad knees and a bad back and still have no problem getting out and locking in my hubs.. no my problem could be relays. Seeing as how there's like 300 of them on my truck. But I have no way to test them and I'm not replacing all of them at $50 each.. but I have checked all of my fesus. I know that the shift motor underneath of it fried this last winter and I bought a new one and replaced it.. so I have a good shift motor and all of my fuses are good. But yet I cannot get power to my four-wheel system.. the indicator light on my dash doesn't the switch doesn't work the little lights on my switch do not light up when I engage my running lights.. I have pulled the relays and tried to find power somewhere. I've disconnected the plugs on the shift motor.. and I have no power anywhere.. on the four-wheel system.. and yes yes I know Force motto is take something simple and complicate the crap out of it.. so how do I fix it.. because I've already brought it to the Ford dealership. And they told me to check my fuses replace the motor and replace switch.. and as far as they could tell my relays were good.. I did all that it still doesn't work???? So I have a problem that not even the Ford dealership in fix.. what do I do????
