Inflation caused a recession spurring consumers to cut spending resulting in less money in the economy meaning lower revenues and negative growth for businesses due to the high interest rates attempting to rein in inflation. Holding interest rates will only prolong or add to inflation and lengthen recession duration. The Carbon Tax compounds inflation, recession severity & duration due to a export shock because of economy's inability to produce output at a given competitive price. So yeah ... jobs on decline already ...
