      Which one?
“I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness; but indeed you are bearing with me. For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully…
…For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.”
      ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭4‬, ‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭

    There’s a joke
A priest and taxi driver reach the gates of heaven and are greeted by Peter
Peter says welcome good and faithful servant let me show you to yo ur inheritance
Peter takes the taxi driver up a hill to a big mansion
The priest gets excited Kos if the driver got that then he shall get a huge reward
Peter then takes the priest into the wet mouldy valley to a run down leaking shack
Peter says this is your inheritance
The priest perplexed as he believes he deserves more as he has been a faithful servant all his life. He begins to question why he didn’t get something more
To which Peter replies ‘when you spoke in church people fell asleep, when the taxi driver drove people prayed’

The Church cannot live without the people, and only the Orthodox churches are full of people every week. In Greece, Russia, Serbia, Georgia, Romania, Armenia. Look at the liturgies as they are, originally served. Only in Orthodoxy do you have that the entire Athos peninsula is in Greece is purely monastic, with 20 main monasteries, and over 100 skites and smaller monasteries, with a large number of monks living in caves. Such dedication to God does not exist anywhere.

Traditional Catholic churches are filled to capacity with large families. If the Pope and our bishop leaves us alone, mine will be standing room only in a year from now (actually it already is on feast days). Trad Catholic seminaries are also full to capacity with waiting lists to get in. Monastaries and Convents too.

Funny to see an Orthodox appear to a fallacious argument built on numbers. "Look at the Orthodox numbers of faithful in churches and monasteries. This is why we are the true church". Yet Catholicism spanks Orthodoxy on numbers across the board. We are bigger, have more people in our parishes, are growing at a faster rate across the world, etc. But "we" don't treat that as an argument. If numbers were the deciding factor we will all have to become Muslim in about 50 years.

That's the teachings of false prophets. No need for religion.
'Religion' from the Latin word 'religare' meaning, to bind again. Why bind again? See, the bible is composed of the New and Old Testament.
Why testament? Because the bottom line of the scriptures is the covenant between God and His people. And that's where 'religion' is needed. It is the institution that keeps the bond and the covenant in place.

Romans 14, Titus 3:9, Tells us not to argue with other believers. Especially about little things. If your church is sound and follows Scripture, there is no need to argue. If you are saved by the blood of Christ and believe in His sacrifice for your sins, and give your life to Him, what is there to argue about? We are brothers and sisters under God. Fighting for what? Whose church looks the coolest? Whose church can have the most traditions? Whose church can prove it is from direct apostolic succession? What does it matter; we are one family through the sacrifice of our Savior.

Having said that, as a Catholic, I think Christians across the board should avail themselves of Sacred Tradition: 2000 years of writings by the saints, church fathers, popes, etc. After Sacred Scripture, it's the next best way we have to help us to a fuller understanding of the Faith. This is my personal invitation to my Protestant brethren (the Eastern Orthodox already do this) because I love you guys.

This video was written with a biased Orthodox point of view. It says the Orthodox Church was the first Christian church, however, the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches were one church, under the pope, until the split in 1054. Then the continuing church became known as the Roman Catholic Church and the church that split off became known as the Orthodox Church. So the first Christian church would have actually been the Roman Catholic Church, though it didn’t use that name back then and the Orthodox Church was part of it.

As someone who spent several years discerning a vocation to a contemplative monastic order (Trappists), I have great appreciation for Mount Athos. I watch all the documentaries I can, and I pray the Jesus prayer with a prayer rope, etc.
However, let's be honest: if the Catholic Church had such an island, the Orthodox would be complaining about it one way or another.
In a way, Mt. Athos is symbolic of Orthodox: ethnically homogenous and isolated from the rest of the world. For those reasons, the Orthodox Church(es) cannot be the one true Church founded by Jesus because they have not made disciples of ALL nations.
Jesus gave one man the key of the perpetual office of Royal Steward in His eternal kingdom (Mt. 16:19), and He never took them back.

Actually the differences are often bigger inside/STRAIGHT THROUGH DENOMNATIONS THAN BETWEEN THEM-between individual preachers. I am myself a deeply believing christian. I am formally a Lutheran, but I am active in different christan denominations. I choose on sundays after the invidual precacher more than after denomination. For example the Catholic vicar in our town actually preaches MORE LUTHERAN than some priests in my own formally Lutheran church. (Church of Sweden). I thiink that individual preachers in most christian denominations may have the Holy Spirit with them in sermon, while other prechers in the same denomination may not have. The denominations are far from homogenous. It can differ very much within the same denomination on the distance of only 2 tram-stops.
I allways choose theologically conservative preachers (not politically but theologically) who preach the classic christian message. I think I can sometimes somewhat sense if the Holy Spirit is there or if it is not so. I think it´s important christians cooperate over denominational boundaries in todays world-where islam is predicted to be biggest religion in 2070-in 50 years from today (because of relatively high nativities.)

Good deeds arise from the faith. Our deeds are a reflection of our faith. But what we believe is that we cannot be saved because of our merit or good deeds but rather by faith in the righteousness & saving grace of Christ.. the works then follow as a result of the God’s redeeming power in the person. & that is how one can recognise whether a person is saved or not by the fruits of his or her spirit. Good works are definitely needed to be done because Jesus says that if you love me you will keep my commandants. But they are not the reason we are saved because Paul said that it is by grace through faith that one is saved so that no man can boast in their own self or works.

Wrong, the church did not change jesus promised that he will stay with he church forever unto ages of ages and protect it, and the church gave you the scriptures which you said don't change but your hero martin luther changed it and took 7 books out of it for it to fit his interpritation, the fold churchfathers interpretations are much more important than your own because they learned directly from the apostles you did not. Its dunny how you say traditions of man and interpritations of man while without us you dont have things like the trinity and also very ironic how you folloe traditions of man, the reformers. that holy spirit claim can be said about everyone, a gnostic says he has the holy spirit, and says the God of the old tastament is evil, ask 100 protestants something they will give you 100 different answers, some will say lordship salvation, others will say cheap grace, free grace, hyper grace, universalism, liberal, progressive and so many more, the truth is that the holy spirit guided the church and without the church there is no salvation because salvation is in the church, yes you may have some things right but you do not have the fullness of truth which orthodoxy has

There is one final Principal and this is of the Father and not of the Father and the Son, from whom Holy Spirit procedes.
That why I do not believe that Roman Catholic Church can claim that she is carrying the orthodox faith of st Peter. Orthodox Church is doing this. You can see this in practical dogmas, that are proclaimed by both of those churches. Only one of them is carrying faith of apostles and unfortunately it is not Roman Catholic Church.

    @stephensipe5405 Před dnem

I listened to this video and read the below comments. I laughed at it all. Jesus and His Disciples lived simply and shared simply, and determined leadership through consensus. Most Christian leaders are blind to Jesus. This started from the 2ND Century, as soon as the Disciples and 60 Assigned Followers were killed or died off. This video details some of the political, economic, and even ethnic/nationalistic motivations dividing the Jesus’ Church.
I agree all who believe in Jesus as their Savior are saved by His love. NO Christian Denomination really believes this and NONE practices this belief. Upon Jesus return, He could easily say to ALL Christian Denominations, “I do not know you!”
These are the things I would emphasize. I have them in order of importance to Salvation.
1: Was the Repentant Convict next to Jesus saved with his Spirit accompanying Jesus Spirit to Paradise on Good Friday? I say YES. Therefore, Baptism is NOT a precondition to Salvation. Only belief in Jesus is required for Salvation. Nevertheless, do you want your birthday cake as a Christian with or without icing? The Repentant Convict had NO chance at Baptism. The 105 people witnessed too and saved on Floor 105 of Tower 1 in the World Trade Center on 09/11 did NOT get Baptisms. They were all saved too. But if you are in a peaceful environment, your Baptism is a formal public celebration of the Salvation you already accepted inside. Does 1 Denominations do Baptism better than others? Well, being immersed as a person conscious of their own sinful nature is my preference. Babies cannot be Baptized because they lack a consciousness of the yet unexpressed nature. Do Baptisms happen only to adults? No. However, most males mature at about 25, and most females at about 20. I say about because family and cultural environments impact your understanding of your conscious behavior.
2: Are their more Sacraments than declaring Jesus as your Savior in your heart, and Baptism as a public expression of your inside commitment? NO. All other claimed sacraments are non-Biblical false teaching.
What about Marriage? Individuals are NOT saved by marriage. Therefore, it is NOT a Sacrament. However, Jesus said, “Where 2 or 3 are gathered in My name, I will be with them also.” This means such a gathering of Believers is a micro Church for Jesus. Thus, teaching marriage in Church where a new micro Church is being created is NOT a small event. Both parties to a marriage have to comprehend fully their roles as Husband and Wife. The Deltas of understandings in various areas have to be bridged. And although mutual attraction, humankind lust is normal, to last 50+ years without succumbing to temptation, you need great communication skills. This is what a macro Church should offer all its micro Churches created by marriage.
What about communion? Can a non-Christian take communion and be saved? NO! Communion is NOT a Sacrament just like Marriage is NOT a Sacrament. Communion comes from the Passover Meal called the Last Supper. It is a Remembrance Meal of Jesus: as your Savior from judgment of sin, as your Rabbi/teacher of what GOD wants from you in this Humankind life; and finally as an example of how following GOD’s will takes you away from those things meaningful in this life. Communion unites all Christians of the past with all Christians in the present and all Christians yet unborn into a single Fellowship. It does NOT give Salvation but should reenergize a Salvation ravaged by this world and temptations of Satan the Evil One. In this regard, as nutrition for a Christian Spirit, I can understand how it can be considered a Holy act, which most will call a Sacrament.
3: Pagan rituals and beliefs have tried to corrupt Christianity from the very beginning of Jesus’ Church. If statuary, icons, candles, and burning spices are not called Sacred, nor worshiped, nor treated in any manner other than art glorifying GOD, then all Christians should be able to accept them for what they are, man made. As soon as a greater value is placed on any of these, legacy Pagan ritual creeps into Christianity, which is heresy. Likewise, certain Christian scriptural texts are accepted as the basis of Christian faith. Any beliefs originating from texts not accepted are either Heretical Gnostic texts or early Christian Commentary. The Letters are Christian Commentary actually Canonized in the New Testament. Other Commentaries are farther from original witness to Jesus, and are just good understanding. Only the Gospel Of Jesus in the 4 accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are foundational to Christianity. In fact, most Denominational squabbles are over interpretation and application of the Letters. This is why I always push for Gospel reading to Letter reading so Jesus’ message is not straight jacketed by Letters after the fact.
4: Christian leadership often fails to fully explain mental struggles of applying GOD’s will. For example, what Season is GOD in? What Season are you in? Does GOD have macro will plan and a micro plan just for you?
For example, during WW2, big battles occurred in the Pacific. My Uncle joined the Navy to fight. He was assigned to a private yacht converted to a Destroyer to fight German U-Boats. He sailed back and forth from Texas to New Jersey guarding oil tankers. During the voyages he fished and manned his post. They only dropped depth charges once.
My Uncle thought of his time in the Navy meaningless. He was wrong. The oil brought to New Jersey ending up as gasoline for my other Uncle fight with GEN Patton. It also fueled my Dad’s plane to bomb Germany. His meaningless job to him was valuable to winning WW2.
Many Christians live lives which they might view as meaningless and boring. If they Believe in Jesus, and follow Jesus’ teachings, they are serving GOD’s will. The impact to GOD’s Church by them will not be fully appreciated until they reap rewards in Heaven they never imagined they earned. Their Salvation was a gift of GOD. The rewards in Heaven are determined by doing GOD’s will as a thank you to GOD for Salvation.
Martin Luther made 2 statements during sermons which had impacts far greater than intended. Why? Because those hearing the messages added to it.
For example, Luther said he wished his Baptism had occurred AFTER his Epiphany, or Born Again experience with GOD. This started the Baptist Denomination. In another sermon, Luther said you either followed GOD’s will or you failed to follow GOD’s will. To Luther, this did not seem like free will existed in Humankind. I believe Luther was echoing Paul’s frustration with himself. However, John Calvin translated this lack of free will into meaning GOD predestined all Humankind actions. This is truly a heresy conflicting with both Old and New Testament teachings.
GOD has a book of life. It will have as many pages as is required to achieve GOD’s will. In this book, individuals have plans. These plans are not fixed because GOD pleasures in Humankind’s free will choices. Our randomness gives Him joy. Now we humans can disappoint GOD and we can surprise Him also. His end state will be just as He wants. But He will wait until everything lines up. If individuals Believe in Jesus, follow His teachings, and listen as the Holy Spirit directs, then you will become a greater and greater part of fulfilling your plan GOD’s way while also helping to fulfill His will for Humankind. Remember, GOD always has Plan Bs, and will allow Satan to motivate and influence those to help align people to His will.

Although they both exist as separate institutions today, it wasn't the establishment of a new institution that the RC came from. Rather increasing differences over the Filioque, papal authority, as well as arguments over where Latin and Byzantine rites could be used between bishops of the East and West. The problem with making this a 3-way argument is that when you say Protestant, you're talking about thousands of denominations and hundreds of thousands of independent churches that are connected to nothing and have their own hodgepodge of beliefs. Within a couple years of the start of the Reformation, Protestants couldn't even agree on Christian essentials like the meaning of salvation, how one is saved, baptism and communion. There are even instances of warmongering and violence between Lutherans, Calvinists, the Anabaptists and followers of Zwingli. If you're going to try to say "they," got it right, you're going to need to be very specific.

Very clever wording. You don't say how long after the first Christian church came into being after the Resurrection, that the first Orthodox church was established. If one doesn't listen closely and carefully, it could sound like you're trying to 'imply' it was 33 AD.
History tells us it wasn't until 120 AD that the first Orthodox church was established, and it's totally different from the way the Book of Acts describes what early Christians believed and how they worshiped.

Today's Protestants do NOT believe in the Holy Trinity, and therefore say that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are NOT God! Another thing that this video got wrong is that Infallibility does not mean free from sin, nor is it a special charism limited only to the Supreme Pontiff. Infallibility also belongs to the entire College of Bishops when they proclaim a teaching, in doctrinal unity with the Pope as Bishop of Rome, proclaim a teaching to be true (e.g. when gathered together in an ecumenical council). Infallibility refers to the theological concept that the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church is not only free from error, but also free from the possibility of error when clearly defining a matter of faith or morals. The implicit doctrine was first explained by the First Vatican Council in 1870:

I don’t comment much about Catholicism because I don’t know enough to speak with any authority. You, however, apparently know nothing about Protestantism but have spewed a ridiculous lie. Every “mainline” Protestant denomination believes in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. We believe that God is three beings and that He is one. We believe that all three persons of the Trinity have always existed and that one is not greater or lesser than the others. Any church that does not espouse the doctrine of the Trinity is considered apostate by true Protestants. Cults such as Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Christian Science are NOT within the Protestant communion. “Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” You’d do well to remember that one if you claim to be a Christian.

At the same time, in 1054 Rome decided not to follow the Holly Tradition anymore and introduce heresy. We split because it was the right thing to do.
Accepting heresy draws you out of universality, no matter if you are a majority or not.
Check your facts before endorsing them! Check what both sides have to say and don't be unilateral until you researched and you have certainties.

There are three Churches with Apostolic Succession that are Orthodox, Catholic, and Anglican since they have Holy Orders with threefold ministry of bishop, priest, and deacon. Those with Apostolic Succession are Christian. '
However, there are other Churches such as Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, etc. that don't have Apostolic Succession since they accept the heretical doctrine of priesthood of all believers and reject the threefold ministry of Holy Orders of bishop, priest, and deacon. Those that reject Apostolic Succession are NOT Christian.

Anglican was NOT founded by an Apostle, so it is not Apostolic. The other Orthodox churches WERE founded the Apostles.

@@johnpolitis7929 he was in the Christian Church before being split because of wrongful dogmas. Actually, we, Orthodox Christians have saints from England from that period of time before the great schism. I lived in England for 4 years and I went to orthodox churches that were build by the Church of England. London is full of churches, but many of them are not in use anymore. Today GB's land is full of saints from that era before the schism. It is unfortunate the Catholic Church posed such an authority on the west but Orthodoxy really is spread out nowadays. I met dozens of British people coming into the Orthodox Church. One such place where they got baptized is The Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Nectarios, London, in Battersea area. I really miss that place. The priest there is among the best I know.

To be a truly apostolic Church, you have to be in *Communion with the Successor of Peter.* You may have apostolic aspects, but you don't have an unbroken line of succession from any of Christ's original Apostles.
Only the Catholic Church maintains this unbroken line of succession via the Pope. And that's really difficult sometimes, but it defines the Catholic Church and is the secret to it's longevity and survival against various attacks from heretics over the course of 2000 years.
