It was a very fun time, as I remember it. A couple of years later, we were struck with a very "hateful and mean" nasty virus called AIDS that killed millions of gay men. It destroyed gay communities around the world.

Agree with you 100 percent because I was a part of that time period. It was a very festive time, but later on, we got cursed with AIDS and that was the showstopper. A "damn shame at utmost" but true. I feel highly blessed to be a survivor.

LOVE THIS. This is a great mash-up! I was a young man back then living in both NYC and SF! What a bittersweet video this is. These tunes move me and remind me of love and loss and the way things were. How many of these lovely souls captured dancing their asses off in the video didn't even make it to 1989? I can only wonder, with a heavy heart.

I share your views as well. I was a part of that time period myself. It is a "downright disgrace" to know the havoc and tragedy that AIDS did to gay men in San Francisco, New York City (my hometown), and other places around the globe. It is even more sad to know that a very small fraction (if any) of these men is still with us. The "damn and unadmitigated nerve" this virus caused.

Also Disco/Hi-NRG music back in 70s and 80s was very popular in US gay communities. That's why many conservative redn_ck assh_les boycotted this music and they made many crimes to musicians, albums, clubs and gay people because of hate.
Village People, Patrick Cowley, Sylvester, Divine were gay and very important for that kind of music 💜
