I love how they reference YMS’s Lion King 2019 video a lot Lion King 1994 is my favorite movie ever. Even as a kid I could tell there was something pretty special about it, that’s how you know something’s truly amazing.

The Lion King is actually my favorite movie. The artistry, the characters, the soundtrack, the extremely quotable script, it’s a high point of cinema and animation. I saw a few clips online of the remake, and if Beauty and the Beast destroyed my interest in these remakes, what I saw of this one made sure to dig up the corpse of said interest and violate it.
Man, I miss the DVD-exclusive menus and games...I loved the effort that was put into them. It's such a blast whenever revisit the Finding Nemo DVD menus....now DVD menus BARELY put in effort, and are as plain as unsalted crackers. -_-
If they don't want DVDs to completely die because of streaming platforms they should REALLY bring back all the fun things a DVD menu could offer and all the fun extras they could contain. Back when I rented DVDs,it would be for two days,the first day was watching the movie the second was checking and exploring all the extras. Extras bring entertainment too!!
I do disagree on TLK musical. I think it is a show that could have had a horrible adaptation. I think that the people who worked on the show were able to realize the strengths and weaknesses of theatre - which is important in adaptation. They very much knew what strengths they needed to play to. It very much reminds me of the Spongebob musical. It started off as an animated show/movie. And a lot of stuff could've gone wrong, but it ended up being adapted beautifully. The costumes are both complicated from a technical aspect, but are also so beautifully simple. I can understand not liking the costumes, they can be jarring. But I think they do capture the show itself. And it is SO much better than trying to make them look like lions. Spongebob also does this and does it well. Theatre has a high suspension of disbelief compared to stuff like, a movie. The costumes don't need to be recreations to convey the message. I think TLK's costumes show a LOT of personality. The added songs, Shadowland, They Live in You, The Madness of King Scar.... all of them fill out the show well and keep the pace of the show, like the animated movie does. They don't detract from the story, but add. Morning Report I don't think is horrible, but I think it is one of the weaker songs in the show. The opening of the musical? I got chills. The rising sun is such a beautiful opening. There is a lot of limitations to stage, but I think it is one of the best current adaptations on Broadway right now. The set is simple, as are the costumes, but they are crafted wonderfully. If you get a chance to see it on Broadway or on tour, I highly recommend. It's such a good show.
Hearing dude say how is the 2019 movie 30 minutes longer and that its was gonna be 30 minutes sh*t... and then we see the watch along for the 2019 movie and we all laugh along with them as they react on how long they focused on a beetle dragging sh*t 😂😂😂
"How does everything grow back" ??? It's a time lapse to later when the land is healed, after all the hyenas are gone and the food chain is back in order. Was that not always obvious?
I agree you STRONGLY about the Lion King 2019 remake was a terrible thing that happened. I remember me wanting to watch it because it was so cool. But everything changed because the fist song that played was a so soulless and didn’t even hold the “Sun rolling high” right! The SUN WAS BEING BLOCKED BY THE FLIPPING CLOUDS! And why the Papa Johns mind did they NOT give Rafiki the stick but gave it to him at the big battle scene later on in the film?! YMS does a big deep dive on this trash beep that I hope you check out because it’s a trip… My opinion has not been changed ever since. The ORIGINAL Lion King 1994 is the best Disney movie ever made. But I have not watched the broadway show but I had listened to the soundtrack and that was way better then the CGI movie with VR ever could
Does anyone else hear scar say brother before mufasa, or am i on drugs, cuz ive heard it every time ive ever seen this movie, and i saw it in theaters as a kid. Theres gotta be at least one other person that hears what i hear.

Like, it doesn't have counting and spelling segments, or moments where the characters break the fourth wall like say, Dora The Explorer. It's a funny world we live in...
