Hey guys, check out the long form version of this story (linked in video) if you get the chance! One of the most bizarre football stories in recent memory. Also I promise my pronunciation of Cagliari has greatly improved in this vid 😂
Crazy that a player could just straightup be prevented from performing just due to where he was born. And he can't exactly change citizenship either, not without potentially lethal repercussions against his family at home
Fr
One comment. Han is the players last/fanily name. Korean names usually have 3 syllables, the first usually being the last name (think son heung min, son is his family name). Calling the player song here is weird. Call him han (if youre going by last name) or kwang song if youre using his first name.
Totally irrelevant but that kit is 🥶
At that time he could ask for being South Korean Citenzen and could play for South Korea
That shows us that you can become pro even if your country isnt that popular with football
Pulisic, Zlatan, Haaland (dont mind pulisic, any other american is just fine)

There’s another one. An-Byong Jun was in Fifa 23 then got removed after. He is a North Korean football player that plays in South Korea for Samsung Suwon.
i hope he leaves north korea and goes back to europe
He can't, it's because the UN sanctions against North Korea
As if he can as per his wish 😢
He tried and from what this video said western sanctions are what sent him back
Meanwhile South Koreans supporting Hamas akin to North Korean dictatorship
He cannot because there are sanctions against clubs who buy North Korean players. Juventus itself was fined for over 7 million euros.
Love how the UN make it hard for civilians to leave and work elsewhere. Completely corrupt organisation
You say that without considering the fact that the North Korean government would've taken every single cent of his pay from professional football 😂

I find it messed up how he was ruined just because of his nationality. That’s basically racism/discrimination against north koreans
Yeah North Korea should let him play in different country’s so North Korea would have a good player on their international team and that would help North Korea not be so bad b it like they did with that one player from North Korea that is the only one in career mode for North Korea he got kicked off of Norwich city while Norwich were in the premier league and his ovr went from 74 gold card in FIFA 22 too now in ea fc 24 his ovr/rating is now only 67 because he plays for some south Korean team.

North korea - we have hang kwang son 😤
Idk if there spellings are correct 💀
North Korean here, he is greatest Korean footballer after our Great Master Kim Jong Un who won us a World Cup against the United Stated.
you must be rich to have wifi 😂
His family name is Han so you can call him Han! Just like Son for Son Heung-min.
Or you could just call him Gwang-Sung, which is his name.
If you call him Han it's like calling Kylian Mbappe "Mbappe"
but if you call him Gwang-Sung it'd be calling "Kylian".
They dont mind nor care tol. People have been calling Yao Ming Yao, but then again its America.
Yea they do like to put their family name first in Asian countries or atleast North and South Korea do. I don't know about the rest

He does play at a club. Problem is that DPRK FA releases only the bare minimum of information to FIFA when it comes to communication with the outside world. It is rumored that he plays for April 25 which is the best club in North Korea. Problem is that no one can really authentificate that.

He became the first North Korean player to play outside of North Korea

Due to politics another wonder kid has been wasted. @KeepPoliticsAwayFromFootball
Well I mean sometimes it's unavoidable especially for North Koreans, as the video said Han has the access to go overseas to become an OFW and he has a North Korean work permit, unfortunately as the video said UN sanctioned North Korea which will send all North Korean OFWs back to their country
@@saxonia_hsvlike OP said. Keep politics out of sport.
@@Mohagnito94 It’s unfortunate that this players career can’t continue outside of North Korea, but it is completely right that he isn’t allowed to play for foreign clubs. This is because the North Korean regime takes the salaries of these players (and any other North Koreans working abroad) as a source of foreign currency. So any club that would sign this player would be indirectly funding the North Korean regime.

So it okay for Israel player to play abroad but not North Korea. UN is a joke 🤣🤣🤣
North Korea is different. Though it isn’t very fair on North Korean players either
Israel is a democracy whilst North Korea is a totalitarian country. North Korean workers abroad endure slave like working conditions. So yah UN is doing right.
@@ethandean4 the thing is that with North Korea, no matter what you accuse them of, you have to accept that they're an isolationist nation which is not the constant cause of war and instability. It's a small nation struggling to service with most of the world against it.
Israel on the other hand, has been funded solely to help western interests in the middle east and prevent the arab world from moving away from its old colonial masters (the UK, France). It's nothing but a base for western interference into the middle east masked as a state for Jewish people.
