It's not madness or wildness, the simple fact is that SVG has a huge amount of natural driving talent so he can get away with situations that would put other drivers in the wall, and he can read what sort of a car he has under him so well that he can have massive confidence in what the car will do. He also understands that motor racing is entertainment...

Motorsport needs more SVG's, look at F1 (F__kin boring motorsport). SVG is to V8SC, what Senna was to F1 in the 80s and 90s. A great talent and the reason to go to races or watch them on the TV.

Kimi raikkonen its not bloody f1 car. its a 2 ton 800 hp beast and it can deal with it otherwise they wouldn't use the curbs.

      pedantic ;p..
yeah its not actually two ton ether its 1400kg I'm just making a point.
if you want to get technical there are a lot more reasons why the v8sc can deal with bumps and f1 cars cant, diff, suspension settings, steel frame vs carbon monocoque ect

Hello Mark Scaife I can quite vividly remember when you fell off the track or were accidentally punted off as we all know it does occur. BUT I have seen you wave your clenched fists on live television and threatened to punch someone. You did say in this video that we should not show the younger generation the wrong things too do I feel if you live in a glass house you know the rest. Leave SVG the man alone he is truly a dead set genius.

People have different levels of nerve and risk threshold (just like pain threshold) what is seen as too much by the majority is perfectly acceptable to the minority of guys with a gift like SVG has. Senna was in the same boat, so was Kimi Räikkönen.

Just noticed the age of the vid. I had mixed feelings on SVG at this stage of his career - sure he made for great telly but he also got a bit too keen to punt other cars off the road. That being said he's mellowed out a LOT and now he's a legit championship contender. Wasn't a fan of him in 2015 but certainly reckon he's got the goods this year though.

    • @Slaktrax

These are pro drivers if they didn't think they had the skill and it was unsafe they wouldnt do it.
I'd be more worried about fixing pit lane making it safer for all by having a 45 Degree center service bay so cars come in with the garage on their left and they turn right to enter their 45 degree service bay this way no teams are running over each others equipment pulling fuel tanks and air bottles that can and have started fires this saves pit crews from being run down fires dont spread to the garages any car in the service area can be pushed straight back across the entry lane and into their garage,
drivers get to judge their own release because they will have a better view of other cars coming or exiting their service bay.
All tires fuel and compressed air would be kept in this center service bay.
There's more good points in a pit lane setup like this than bad points look at Nascar accidents in pit lane
