đ Tesla Coil: miniature low current version of the famous air core double-tuned resonate transformer invented by Nikola Tesla in 1891. The thick copper of the primary coil is set into three windings around the many windings of the tall secondary coil. This one uses a modern transistor circuit to excite the radio frequency oscillations that produce a voltage in excess of 50kV in the form of pulses that cycle about 100k times a second.
đ Gas Collection for Emission Spectra: pure samples of hydrogen, nitrogen and five noble gasses are subjected to the high frequency pulsed field of a miniature Tesla coil. Each gas has a characteristic breakdown voltage and emission spectrum- note that Nitrogen has the highest breakdown voltage and only glows when very near the coil where the field is most intense whereas Neon and Helium have the lowest breakdown voltage and begin to glow many centimeters away from the coil. The color of each gas is due to a mix of the colors emitted from electron energy transitions specific to each element- the basis of spectroscopy.
đ Switch Pitch Ball: this spherical assembly changes color by turning inside out when tossed into the air. The ball is made of multiple components hinged together. In launching the ball from the hand an upward acceleration results in a torque that pivots each component around its center of mass, causing the rotation of these components in an organized way leading to the transformation.
đ Scrap Metal Kinetic Sculpture: a bent spring becomes a coupled harmonic oscillator with two modes of oscillation, one along a horizontal direction and one at an angle. As the kinetic energy trades back and forth between these two modes the end of the spring traces out a Lissajous curve (revealed by a white LED) which gets smaller in size each cycle as friction dissipates energy from the system. The full beauty of this motion is captured by recording the light traced using the Slow Shutter Cam App which unveils the nested family of curves.
đ Dual Axis Sand Pendulum: the kinetic energy trades back and forth between swinging toward the support arm and then swinging perpendicular to that path tracing Lissajous figures in the sand.
đ Polage Display: art with polarized light using polarizing sheets and cellulose to create changing forms and colors. Rotation of the filter allows the artist to produce colorful metamorphosis. The colors in polage come from how the molecular structure of plastics can rotate the polarization of any light that passes through- but only light corresponding to yellows and greens gets rotated in plastic, reds and blues not so much.
đ Tautochrone Curve: has the special property that the time it takes for an object to slide to the bottom of it under gravity is the same no matter how high it starts up the curve. Also, the time it takes is always equal to pi times the square root of the cycloid radius divided by g. Presented here are three instances of two spheres being released at the same time, and each time they reach the bottom and collide at the center.
đ Anamorphic Business Card
đ Double Pendulum: chaotic motion from a simple assembly of two physical pendulums (one attached to the end of the other) with the energy of the system moving frenetically back and forth between the potential energy of gravity to the kinetic energy of motion.
đ Chaos as Art: The intricate path of a chaotic pendulum traced by a UV diode on to a phosphorescent screen in slow motion.
đ The Klein Bottle
đ Oil Drop Timer

Which toy you liked the most? â€ïž
The double pendulum
Definitely the different gasses, but are they at a higher/lower pressure? And does the high voltage being AC make it glow better? I tried it with pulse DC at atmospheric pressure and it didn't really work. I could imagine the AC transferring through the glass as it basically is a capacitor
The Chaotic Pendelumn
7:35 , because the bottom part of slinky forces the upper part of slinky to come towards the bottom
Or , every action has equal n opposite reaction
8:52 , it happens only when you drop it in a specific way
Nichola Tesla was a true legend.
What you think?
His many discoveries have been tried to keep as secret. And someone had tried to steal his ideas too.
Basically the inventor of the alternate current the one the whole world uses, nothing to do with the other shitty guy...
I think you mean Nikola Tesla
I do. The other shitty guy is Edison.
Heâs a pioneer, there is no way he isnât a legend.
All were mind expanding pieces of Art and Physics, my favorite was the sandscript pendulum.
2:27 i used to have that long back
*The Tesla coil* is surely among the best in your all time collection. Can be served as a perfect gift for a Physics lover.
Mid air conversation ball was nice
5:50 I just was like out loud
"Chaos is beautiful."
okay discord
I love the double pendulumđđ..the reason for the knot is due to the rotation of the ring beyond 90°, the lower ends of the chain are elongated sideways. Therefore, there is now also a restoring force component tangential to the ring. If it overcomes the frictional forces, the two ends of the chain can slide from the lower end of the ring upwards on each side of the ring. Once they make it to the middle of the ring, the knot can form
Its quite amazing experience to see all these toys. Thanks for sharing.
All of your toys are amazing and mind blowing
GREAT MUSIC SYNC!!
OK I've watched a few vids, but that edit sold me, subscribed!
I loved the gas collection in front of the tesla coil! It blew my mind! xD
Thanks for the compliment :)
I love these videos.
while falling down due to gravity ring's round shape spread the chain around it than ring falls between the overlaped chain so a note is made and chain hangs up
Double pendulum fidget!!! Already love it.
The ring hits the chair and causes the chair to whip back over it then it gets bought like that
Telsa coil is the best mind blowing
Every science toy is liked by me!!!
Answer for the quiz: The ring simply turns around and ties itself. (I slowed the video down to 0.25 speed to see what happened.)
5:19 hey thats grand illusions its nice channel
I know right
@@wingbeacon8760 X2
I'd like to see a gas tube collection for gasses people actually look for more often, like radon, CO, CO2, HC, NOX, etc.
Hey!!
I'm your new subscriber : )
I love your videosđđ
Thanks :)
I love those oil drop timers, I wish I had one
Science is always interesting ....đ€đŸ
I love this channel it calms me down when im mad
nice seeing Tim's card!
When you leave the ring the chain gets tied around it because the ring rotetes while moving down
all you just did was give the question back as an answer. try again.
That chain was like "I'll never let go"
Press like botton and motivate this video.. such a nice work seeing..
the slinkys bottom stays because when you drop it the bottom wants to meet the top in the middle but gravity keeps it in place.
I m too early ....yeeeđ btw Tesla coil was mind blowing
Thanks :)
You should see a large Tesla coil
Wow! And the 1st one is very classy . My dream was to create in my country a kind of school or fundation for poor child learn science...but like this.
I LOVE the scrap metal kinetic toy â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
The rotation from the ring causes the leading edge to pass between the strands of the bead chain, forcing the strands around the sides of the ring thusly looping the chain into a knot around the ring.
It's like making a metal rubber band chain but you aren't interfering
Mr Tesla n'est jamais loin...
The ring had bend the chain in such a way that it forms a loop that allows the chain to form a loop
I love the double pendulum
Me too
The switch pitch ball is my favourite. Also, i own an oil drop timer.
Shadow Hacker, same here except mine has these wheels
I liked the Tesla coil
Me too!
I reckon the ring and chain conundrum turns out to be a kiteflyers' favourite...âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ the larks-head hitch
Really innovative dude ...liked it...đđ
The solution is because the metallic ring spins 1 spin so the metallic rope gets stuck with it.
And that is seen in the slow motion.
When you drop the ring it tilts to the side you let go of first an when it does the ring touches the necklace but still continues to fall thw way it was and thereforw catches the rong
*R O N G*
Alex Goforth idk he sounds asian maybe hes correct

This is extremely cool! You got me as new subscriber :) I am here because of a link from electroBOOM.
Double pendulam was great
Mind blowing toys
Double Pendulum its amazing
The answer to the challenge
SCIENCE!!!!!!
Because the ring tilts when you leave it
What would Radon look like by the glowy Tesla thingy
The way the ring spins ties the metal necklacearoumd it
The answer is simple- Ish. The ring slides down the necklace and once it gets to the bottom of the necklace the necklace wraps around the ring creating a knot
Ans is while falling down the ring was in touch with the beads so the series of beads flip when the ring came at bottom the knot in beads is there so this happen
But why does that happen? It happens because he leaves the ring from his thumb first and then from his fingers. I showed this as a magic trick to a lot of people about 5-6 years ago
7:51 This is an unnecessarily convoluted way to say that the bottom of the slinky is pulled upwards as the slinky falls, thus making it look like it's not moving
Deranged mallard the pull up of the slinky and the pull down of gravity equals out
đ
So much fun! ^_^
because ITS ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL!!! Come on, I didnât even really like the movies and I even know that one!!!! haha đ
Because the ring roll
What is a good android app to capture a video of the metal kinetic sculpture pattern?
*ĐŃлОŃĐœĐ°Ń ĐżĐŸĐŽĐ±ĐŸŃĐșĐ°* đ
ХпаŃĐžĐ±ĐŸ :)
Tesla coil is amazing.
Yes !
Science is the knowledge of consequences, and dependence of one fact upon another.
Because the peristatlic movement of chain made by the ring makes it fall into loop of same chain makes it knot to the ring
You droped the ring standing, not lying as you held it so it tryed to fal throu the chains endloop. :)
Because of your hand position
I love Grand Illusions and Tim
From where can we buy the Tesla coil and how much it will cost
Great video
The force has t/t to the chain and making it spin and that's what made loop with the ring
1st experiment. Because kinetic and potential energy
2nd experiment. Because you are chitter đ You turn ring in half and letâs chain goes up, because ring masses!
Bonus: Itâs turning like sportsman in horizontal bar!
You drop the ring in the middle hole of the necklace
Ooo its beautiful đ amazinggg science
Science is magic that works.
@@physicsfun yes ı love science ı hope ı would like to be scientist and artist đđđŹđđźđšđšđš
@@physicsfun but phsiyic sometimes be harder for me...
I think that the side that touches the chain uses the torque of friction in order to flip around the chain
You are awesome!
Thanks :)
No problem
This time all we're awesome
:)
So cool
2:19 i like it
3:32
9:12 too
GREAT!!!!!đ±
I learned about this, when you drop one side of the ring early it raps around the string and as it hits the end it whips around and makes a knot
Wowww! First video clip..
where do I find the Gaz collection?
The answer is physics
2:30 I have a switch ball
Th he ring does a rotation and the two strands move up as the bottom looped to the top as well creating a knot
It helps to know that the spring forces between elements of the slinky are local. And you should note that the system was in equilibrium just before release. From there you should be able to deduce the behavior of each part of the slinky in the instant of release. And for the "next" moment and so on... It is worth thinking this through. -
As the ring fell it tilted just enough that the chain caught it and as it did that it caused it to fold in its self
1:51 The more you play with the glass tubes filled with gas the more you're contaminating the gas filling. The spark coil on the glass causes the glass "outgas" which means gas that was stable on the inside surface of the glass has been given energy to break free.
I use these gasses in my line of work, I'm a neon glass blower, I make neon signs.
When i am First time visited your Channel you have 9.8k subs & Now........!?đđ€âșïžâșïž NICE SUCCESS
â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Lovely video
Thanks for the compliment :)
8:40 it happens because when you hold the ring in such a way that you can release the thumb before a fraction of a second of leaving the ring from your fingers, the ring slides till half of the chain touching it more from the side of your thumb and hence, gets bunded upon the string as it flips the string so quickly that the human eye can barely notice it!
Amazing
Answer to last week's quiz is because the spring force keeps it pulled up until the top of the slinky slams down onto the bottom
At 5:05 that is Tim Rowett AKA Tim-The-Toy-Man. Subscribe to Grand Illusions he's a cool old guy so show him some support.
Hi. Gasses are the best!
It is due to its momentum and the motion of the ring due to gravity force.
you should credit tim for his business card clip that you took. I seriously just watched that video earlier today.
1:54 krypton has a seizure.
You twisted the ring when it falling, and make it hanging / stuck on that beads
In next video can you explain us how to make this type of toys at home
If you know that energy have been free then nobody is a legend. We are all stupid. Not because of we didn't know that. Because we haven't used that.
Physics=Magic
Physics describes the real magic of the universe.
