Donald Trump just endorsed the GOP candidate, Larry Hogan, for Senate in Maryland. And while it was clear that Trump wanted a positive response in return, the complete opposite happened. He recently talked to the media in Washington and made some charming comments about Hogan. For the first time in years, Donald Trump endorsed a promising candidate, and it came as a shock not only to us but even to Larry Hogan. Hogan's spokesman, Mike Ricci, made an official statement to utterly humiliate Donald Trump and said that he has never supported him in the past, and this time would not be any different. In his statement, Ricci noted that Governor Hogan has been clear, and he is not supporting President Trump, just as he did in 2016 and 2020. In a similar fashion, Asia Hassani, another spokesperson for Governor Hogan, came forward with the exact same statement and clarified that despite Trump's endorsement, Larry Hogan has no interest in having Trump's endorsement and it will not sway him to vote for Donald Trump.
Robert Hartley, the dean of public affairs at the University of Baltimore, talked to the media and said that this endorsement is nothing but a tactic played by Donald Trump to get in the good books of a Republican senator in Maryland because winning there is crucial for him in the upcoming elections. Donald Trump and Larry Hogan share a troubled past, as both of them have never been known to like each other. Back in 2020, Donald Trump talked about Hogan during a press conference at the White House and didn't use pretty words in the statements. This press conference was held during the time that the world was engulfed in COVID-19, and Trump had made policies to contain the spreading of the deadly virus. Apparently, Larry Hogan, the senator from Maryland, didn't agree with his policies back then, and Trump wasn't happy about it. In another similar fashion, Larry Hogan attacked Trump many times in the past, starting in 2016, when Trump took part in the presidential elections.
