Nice bit of kit! I think they work on the principle that they charge up 4 x 3volt capacitors, then combine the voltage together to make 12v. There is one model on the market that can take all the power it needs from a flat battery to achieve the same results. If you are feeling experimental, you could try making one, but you might end up blowing yourself up!

I've got a TackLife model T8 Jumpstarter, which I tested out by starting up the engine of my 2004 Iveco Daily 2.3 van & I helped a woman, who's car wouldn't start due to a flat battery at my local Tesco's... it's fitted with some USB sockets & has an attachable 12v cigarette lighter lead, so it can be used as an18,000 Mah power bank. It is also fitted with a torch, which came in handy helping said woman start her car... Every vehicle should have one... or one similar... the TackLife T8 looks much more compact than the one you've got though Mel. You've just reminded me to check it out for it's state of charge... cheers... p.s... I've also used it with my 12v compressor to pump up my tyres...

I bought a 1000W Noco battery booster, Smaller than the one on the video, it successfully jumped my flat van battery and was even good for a few more jumps before needing recharging. Make sure you buy the correct size and type for the vehicle you have. The NOCO 500 wouldn’t touch my Van’s flat battery but the 1000W model was superb and still going strong after a year of occasional use.

Had a similar problem with my Vito 113 ( same engine I think ). I had a bad water leak which turned out to be the plastic fuel filter housing which bolts to the side of the head. It has a water channel running through it and it sela to the head with an O ring. Over the years the joint and the O ring deform. Result ...water leak. £38.00 from Mercedes, but completely inaccessable and involves a big strip out. Glad your smoke cleared up....

Blimey didn't expect that part to be made of plastic on a turbo charged engine, if you want to stop that gunking up fit an egr blanking plate, some don't throw error codes but some do and need deleting out of the map.
Its worth it more power, one less thing to go wrong and no sending dirty exhaust gas in the engine which mixes with oil from your oil breather.. Making a tar like substance that decreases engine life .. Its meant to be a save the planet valve lol.
