    Honestly guys thank you so much!!! After I changed my cabin air filter on my own, I started getting a vibrating sound when I ran the AC/heat. Thought for sure I was going to have to tear apart the dash or take it in to have it diagnosed. Nope, in 20 mins, I had it pulled, found out there was an acorn inside of it, cleaned it out, reinstalled it, and she's right as rain now. Thank you a ton!!!

    Perfect video guys. I pulled this blower motor in my Dad's 15' silverado to remove some leaves in the fan that made an awful loud noise. For those of you trying this, those back 2 screws on the cover are a PITA to get back in. Fan sounds normal now. Thanks!!

    About a year ago I changed out my cabin air filter, after I installed the filter and put everything back together I turned my fan on for a test run. It ran great for about 10 minutes and all of a sudden I heard this loud noise so I shut it down and call my gmc dealer service department after I told him he laughed and then he now you get to learn how to remove your fan motor and to this, I said do what? So he said you either have leaves or trash in the fan blade so thanks to your video I was able to remove 3 leaves out of my fan blade

    This helped me on my 2016 HD. I had a leaf stuck in the fan making a lot of noise. As other have stated the back two bolts are almost impossible to get. To reinstall here is a trick, use some duct tape to hold the screw to the deep well socket then you can fish it through the hole. Do the back screws first so you can see where they line up while looking through the gap.

      Yep. Took me about 20+ minutes on that one screw to get in there because of how the opening conflicts with the carpeting and the fact you can’t see what you’re doing easily. Whoever thought of where to put that screw is a fucking idiot. Use clips, not screws at least.

    The one screw in the far back corner will challenge whether you will ever work on another car again. He made it sound like "no problem." Keep trying and "maybe" it will work for you. Took me about an hour. The good thing is that screw will NEVER go back in as long as I am the owner. The other 4 screws are sufficient to hold it all up.

    • @Bluntobject
      @Bluntobject Před 3 lety +1

      For future readers, it would be ideal if you had a quarter inch flex extension on your ratchet to get to these bolts. Unfortunately I didn't have this but I managed to cobble something together using a flexible hex drive attachment to my driver drill and a tiny quarter inch to hex head socket extension to the short socket. I still have to get the far right screw replaced because it fell somewhere and was never seen again. I was not happy about this and pulled apart all the trim and carpet and still couldn't find it I was really determined to finish it correctly.

      He made it look easy because they didn't show removal or replacement of the 2 most difficult screws to get to. There are 5 screws holding that cover on, not 4 as he says. Two are near the fire wall. The way I did it was I put a small piece of duct tape over the opening of the 7mm socket and jammed the hex head of the screw in the socket to hold it tight. Then I could feed it in and find the hole without having the screw fall out of the socket.
