      Great interview! Seems like everyone from the Midwest that was born in the 70's was initiated into wrestling fandom just as he explained it. I saw my first episode of Power before listening to your interview and it really did take me back to my early childhood. Nostalgic!

    Thank you for Promoting NWA Ariel and thank you William Patrick Corgan for your investment in NWA, your goal oriented business mind, and your recent promotional efforts for the NWA brand across various forms of media. Promotion is extremely vital to the short and long term success of any entertainment brand. (Thank you Chris K. Irvine for that wise tidbit of truth)

    I'd rather watch any old school studio wrestling like the stuff from Florida and Georgia hosted by the iconic GORDON SOLIE than a big stadium production. The old Texas AWA productions with the Von Erichs and early Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty were incredible and GREAT TV. I'll be watching this promotion on CZcams. Thanks Ariel. Great interview.

      As a kid growing up in Tampa we used to watch Championship Wrestling from Florida hosted by Gordon Solie. Right down the street on my block Steve Kearn lived and I would wash his orange Corvette on Saturday's. He would show me his belts and stuff. Then at Skyway Park I would see Dusty Rhodes and Bad Bad Leroy Brown. Then many years later and I am now an adult living in Greenville, NC and I'm in line at grocery store and there is a huge bald headed guy with a thick accent English mixed with something and it occurs to me this was Ivan Koloff "The Russian Bear" so I speak with him and tell him what a fan of wrestling I was as a kid he was very humble and gracious man. Then a few years later I saw on local news he died of cancer in a small community (Winterville). It was so surreal to talk to this man who in the late 70's I would see on Championship Wrestling from Florida. I heard he had become a born again Christian and was somewhat of a preacher. As I talked to him he wore a huge silver cross.Not sure why but he and his wife were buying like 20 bunches of bananas.(maybe their church was making banana pudding.) Had also met Black Jack Mulligan at an event in Williamston N.C.. Small world after all.✌

    This is must listen if you're a wrasslin fan. I'd love to see that super show like Flair's final match. They had all sorts of wrestlers from everywhere pitching in on the show. Sadly though I don't think Tony Khan will do it. Or if he did it the show would be too much like AEW.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv Před 2 lety

      You’re saying Tony Khan wouldn’t do it, while comparing it to Ric Flairs last match? Did you forget that there were multiple AEW contracted talent on that card, included two in the main event of it? You’re not required to love TK but if you’re gonna throw a dog at him maybe don’t use your example as one that shows that he would do it and that he wouldn’t force AEW to be the focus, as he clearly did everything you said he wouldn’t in Ric Flairs Last Match.
