Problem with wild caught is having a short lifespan, you don't know how long they'll be with you

you got some really pretty spoods there!! I started raising slings last year, and it’s been great. I just bred one of my girls intentionally this year, excited to see how it goes :D hope you have fun and learn a lot!

Thanks!! I just bred one of mine too and she is sitting on a sack right now! It is so fun to watch and interact with them and I love all that I am learning with them.

I just got a female P. Regis from Tom Patterson ( wild caught) and she laid an egg sack this morning. Im just now getting used to the idea of baby jumpers running around 😂

@@spookysweetspoods1I've heard they are not that easy to take care of. She's my first female jumper & I was really hoping she wasn't gravid. I'll have to make it work though.

There are giveaways all the time that I see on Instagram and Facebook. Just follow breeders or jumper groups! Though typically they do have the winners cover shipping. I get my jumpers at expos to save on shipping cost.

How many molts do they go through til they're full size and how old are they when u get them? They look like fully grown so do u get year old spiders? I'm just wondering cuz ik they don't live that long. Also ik they go through stages like i1 i2 i3 and so on so how many do they go through til they're done molting?

It depends on the spider because if you overfeed them, they will molt faster and essentially get to maturity faster. Lifespan for them is about 2-3 years and they can molt up to i10 or i11. All these in this video are mature. Dean was the only one that wasn't, but he had a final molt almost a week or so after I posted the video. Usually, most breeders have their spiders ready for adoption at i5-7.
I have babies right now, and they are i3 and 4 months old. I think may or June they would be ready for homes, so that will make them i5ish and 5-6 months old.

    Are they wild caught?

Yea I got these knowing they were wild caught. I wanted to get some babies, and all of my other ones are juvenile/subadult and not ready to breed just yet. But I agree, it's sad that as while caught and already mature, I know their time with me is short 😞
