    So cool! I'm thinking about getting a spider of my own and this is really informative!

    Considering 99% eat bugs and 1% eat fruit I'm betting bugs

    i accidently gave one of my little jumpers a cricket that was twice the size of the spider. So as im trying to get it out of his enclosure, he jumped on its back and that was the end of that cricket. Dude had a big ol booty after that cricket. lol

    New sub here. Just came upon your channel! I’m super scared of spiders, but jumping spiders are so cute and growing on me. I was wondering, how long do they live?

      Thanks for following me! Honestly, I used to be terrified of spiders and then I went down the rabbit hole of watching reels of jumping spiders and slowly got over my fear. They are honestly so sweet and curious. Their life span is around 2-3 years

      @@spookysweetspoods1 that’s awesome! I just bought a jumping spider plushy! Right now that’s about all I can handle, but hopefully some day I can make the “jump” to a real spider!

    I have a male, wild caught just like your older spider. So small. I keep waiting for him to molt and grow, but now that I see yours, I realize he may just stay this size. He won’t eat any worms, so he’s stuck with the fruit flies and the box elders that roam my house. I’m guessing that’s the right thing to do since he chose my house & box elders are plentiful here 😂

    • @spookysweetspoods1
      @spookysweetspoods1  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I was the same, waiting for Jack to molt and just nothing lol. My guy can take down those mini mealworms at least and he has take down dubia roaches. I think your doing good with your spider if he is thriving and eating!

      @@spookysweetspoods1 Oh, that's good to know that they can eat dubia's at that size. My smallest dubia's right now are about 3 times the size of him. I'll try to give him one if the adults in my colony decide to breed producing something smaller for him :)

      @spookysweetspoods1  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @divinelovebath I usually do the smaller dubias but yea they love them! And they can usually take down something their size or slightly smaller.

    Is there a big difference in the male and female behavior? Do you have a preference?

    • @spookysweetspoods1
      @spookysweetspoods1  Před 3 měsíci

      I haven't seen a huge difference between genders. Each spider has its own personality though. I love the females because I think they are so pretty. But i don't necessarily have a preference.

    jumping spiders are amazing. but i feel like all you jumpy owners really dont house your jumpys with adequate space to jump, explore, hunt. please give your jumpers a LARGE home. they will thank you.
