Some people will be surprised at how easy it is to play, considering all the buttons are so close together. But honestly it's really doable
This is true, the controls work pretty well, I can still pull off combos in the fighting games 👍🏾

Kinda sucks that it's lacking L2 and R2. Such a small thing that could really help sell the PS1 capabilities of this thing. Oh well.

@@TheThirdEnergy It's surprisingly sturdy. The hinge is pretty heavy and the shell feels rigid. Obviously if the kid is aggressive or doesn't know how to care for their possessions, they can break anything
You're guaranteeing their need for heavy duty glasses later on...

Funkey s vs v90 powkiddy next would be interesting to watch
I was tempted to pick one up but it really is just a novelty... If it's a gift for someone who hasn't really used modern emulator consoles it might be nice...but it is well too small for regular gaming IMO.
I bought it, but admittedly, purely for the novelty. The only time I unironically use this thing is when I'm going somewhere where I can't take my RG280M.
Most of the time, I just play on it to make people smile or it sits on display next to my GBA SP

Ace Combat 2 works amazingly with novice flight mode on

A demanding game to test on it would be something like Soul Blade, the original Soul Calibur.

Seems like all fighting games are grindy as hell on certain emulators and devices. I've noticed it with PS1 and especially Gamecube games; _Resident Evil 4_ and the _REmake_ chug a little at times but are perfectly playable on my Moto G Power 2021, while _Soul Calibur II_ and _Bloody Roar_ are both a few frames per second above a slideshow.
Just got mine. I tried Bloody Roar 2 and. It's playable but not recomended. It barely moves at 30 fps. I guess it's good for playing rpgs.
Not tried it myslef but I am not entirely surprised as that game is know to give trouble on most lower end devices. But don't let that stop your fun as there are many more titles to explore. RE3 workes wonderfully 👍🏾

any advice on installing PS1 games as I'm having alot of frustrating difficulty,
I have the BIOS file downloaded and in its file thats in the the playstation file but the games don't play, does the ps1 emulator come preinstalled or is that something I have to install? Dunno what I'm doing wrong but tbh I don't know about this kind of stuff
It should come installed but you would need to add the bios file if it's asking for it. Go to the funkey website for help and on their discord👍🏾
@@SWPLGAMING I was thinking that it was preinstalled and strangely their wiki and other parts of the website aren't functional the discord wasn't loading either,
Does it matter where in the ps1 file the bios is? If it's in the little bios folder within the ps1 folder

Did you do anything to get tekken 3 running smoothly? Really laggy on mine!seeing it run this well was a big part of why I bought the funkey😭
To be honest, I didn't do anything to it at all. Just seems to work really well. Have tried a different rom as it my be corrupted.

How do I put the ps1 games on there, NES SNES GBA are all super simple but can't get ps1 to work. What kind of files do they need to be?
Is the case you use comfortable? Do you recommend it for use with funkey s?

Hi Harry. I would say watch as many video's as you can on both products, as this will give you more information to work with. Weigh up the pros and cons for each and that should help you make your choice👍🏾

Yep, and what ever game you had been playing, it will take you back to that spot when you return, no matter what system you run. Soo cool👍🏾

How did you get the PS1 emulator running? Are u using a pbp file on this? Cuz I recently got and I can put other ROMs just fine, even the GBA bios. But I can't make Tekken 3 or make any of the PS1 games run.

That's not possible as the only triggers are L1/R1 and they work pretty well 👍🏾
@@SWPLGAMING Pressing the Fn button by itself is registered as SELECT, while pressing it in conjunction with L or R is registered as L2 or R2, respectively

What was the street fighter game you was testing?
It’s tricky to see as the screen is small, but it looks like x-men vs streetfighter. There’s also Marvel vs Streetfighter which is similar.
It’s called street fighter alpha 3 for the first one then he was a testing another one that looked different they looked small the characters

i can download the other platform games just fine, but the ps1 games dont seem to pop up in my device, should i put them in the bios(i think) file or just next to it?
May be more to do with the Game file type. The FUNKEY S team have a discord server and you can get all the information and fixes there. Be sure to check it out👍🏾

How do you swap discs?
I have not play a 2 part game as yet, but it most likely will prompt you to load the second disk automatically, At least I think
