When Kevin breaks out the horn, Matt starts making the drum sounds, and Scott takes over the bass line. Mitch can hit soprano notes and low tenor/high baritone notes, and Kirstin can hit high soprano and low alto. Their versatility is just insane. In my opinion, that is what makes them the best.
You can clearly see Matt is still singing the baseline at this moment. Maybe they do it that way live, but something else is going on here.

If I remember correctly, this is the official video with the new bass, Matt sitting left-most. Kevin, the one sitting right-most, provides the percussion and beats and of course the trumpet.

I love everything about this cover. Mattâs bass as you said is straight off the bat just amazing, Kevinâs beat throughout the song is so cool and then the trumpet is perfection, Kirstieâs chilled Latina vibes give me life lol Iâm supremely jealous of Mitchâs gorgeous high notes and his pink jacket đ and then of course Scott just delivers a solid, flawless performance as usual. The video itself is so damn good, itâs so chock full of casual swag from them, theyâre just chillin out on some couches, delivering the best version of this song Iâve ever heard.
