Greetings from Scotland! "Ворона" is pronounced as "Varona" and means "Crow". Remember this was a contest and a live contest at that, in front of a full audience and other contestants. I think you may be meaning the very deep note in between the very high note that you are hearing? That deep note was done by a backing vocalist named Vlad. Everything else is absolutely Diana. This young singer has the worlds most unique vocal abilities and they are all naturally occurring in her. I think you need a short background on this vocal miracle! 😊😊 Diana was 18yo here but is 19yo currently and I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. Hi, I have heard many of Diana's performances. One thing, among many, that she is great at is being on pitch. There is a second, or two, in the song "Can't Help Falling in Love", where I initially thought that she was was searching for the tuning. But, after hearing a few other performances, where she does the exact same thing, I understood that it is an artistic decision. I don't hear anything "out of tune" here. So, maybe it's just that Diana was doing something that wasn't expected.
Diana was abused and abandoned as a child and raised in a Russian orphanage ........Her adoptive Mum used singing and voice lessons to help Diana overcome the trauma of her earliest years.......Diana is a natural Contralto which is the lowest female vocalist's register....this performance alone should make us all recognize and appreciate the talent of performers from the "world music" genre......

(I am not a professional but I have compiled information found on Diana's official website, in interviews and in reactions from singers and musicians)
Your astonishment is not exceptional! Diana is an unique contralto (dramatic contralto) her comfort range is C3-C6 but in constant evolution. Diana uses many vocal techniques rarely used in pop music (like overtones, yodel, and some from lyric chant....). The one that seems to amaze people the most is multitonal (polyphonic) voice. The root notes are enriched with powerful harmonics which can give the impression that there are several overlapping voices or an artificial effect which gives this result.
This technique is used in Slavic folk music. I cannot tell you exactly how these artists achieve this result, I was just told that it is linked to the simultaneous use of the different resonators of the human body and that such a mastery of the voice and of the breath with such a fluidity requires years of work, Diana has been singing on stage and has been taking singing and performing arts lessons since the age of 6!
She has become famous in the broadcast "You're Great!" ("You are Super"), a song contest reserved for children who have had a difficult start in life. This is the case of Diana who was mistreated and ended up in an orphanage at 3 years old.
In her shows, Diana participates in the direction, direction and arrangements of her performances. She is a complete artist.
In addition, until the recent past her costumes were often designed and sewn by her mother and grandmother since she was 5.

Hi! Diana changed the plot of the original. She sings on behalf of the "White Crow" (white clothes and feathers) among the black ravens. The White Crow is a metaphor used in the Russian language to refer to a person who has a behavior or a system of values that differ from other persons of their community. In many European languages, the partial analogue of the Russian expression "white crow" is the idiom "black sheep".
The choreography is based on the confrontation of the heroine and a flock of ravens that attack her. In the finale, the crows manage to forcibly throw black clothes on the heroine.
Diana Ankudinova on the stage is a "White Crow". Her work evokes different reactions from the crowd, from absolute delight to complete denial. Diana does not seek to fit into the framework of show business. She offers her original ideas.
Yet at the end they drape her in a black cloak. My favorite far and away of anything she sang on that competition.
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Greetings from Scotland! "Ворона" is pronounced as "Varona" and means "Crow". Remember this was a contest and a live contest at that, in front of a full audience and other contestants. I think you may be meaning the very deep note in between the very high note that you are hearing? That deep note was done by a backing vocalist named Vlad. Everything else is absolutely Diana. This young singer has the worlds most unique vocal abilities and they are all naturally occurring in her. I think you need a short background on this vocal miracle! 😊😊
Diana was 18yo here but is 19yo currently and I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time!
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. At 13yo she held her 1st solo concert and one of the songs she sang was in a very rare Sephardic Jewish/Spanish dialect, a song called "Me Voy" (I'm leaving) with a power and emotional commitment that staggers belief! czcams.com/video/-9_c5fPrqno/video.html

Hi,
I have heard many of Diana's performances. One thing, among many, that she is great at is being on pitch.
There is a second, or two, in the song "Can't Help Falling in Love", where I initially thought that she was was searching for the tuning. But, after hearing a few other performances, where she does the exact same thing, I understood that it is an artistic decision.
I don't hear anything "out of tune" here. So, maybe it's just that Diana was doing something that wasn't expected.
