Shopify store owners have recently been sent an email titled "Authenticate and add a DMARC record to continue sending emails from your domain," in response to Gmail and Yahoo's new anti-spam policies. This how to video tutorial aims to guide you through this process in a straightforward manner using DNS and tools, saving you time and technical hassle. Implementing DMARC is essential to monitor and consequently reduce spam, ensuring your emails don't end up in your customers' spam folders.

Your welcome. This includes all email providers but you will need to follow steps from your email provider for spf and dkim records for your provider. Let me know if you have any particular questions . Happy to answer

you can't . this is what dmarc is supp[osed to do. the best way is to have your inbox automatically move them into another folder so you dont see them. and then use a 3rd party tool to manage the data easier via tables and graphs instead of checking one email at a time . i am working on a video to show this but dont have an estimated date yet

Yes you need to do this only for your domain host email.

I have done everything you have said and this comes up in Value: * Value of TXT record should be taken in quotes and contain at least one latin letter or number. For example 'value=value of TXT record'. - what am I doing wrong?

Yes you can. If you bought the domain via Shopify domains , you can go to settings - domains and edit the dns to follow the same exact steps as in the video
I have two email addresses to my business do you know if I should add both to my dmarc records? There seems to be conflicting ideas out there saying it is possible but they can cause problems adding more thean one.
Dmarc is related to a domain name not email addresses. So as long as both your emails are from the same domain you just need to do it once
How about SPF and DKIM records? Do we need to add these records before setting up DMARC?
Yes you need to add them as well. Before is better

Do you know if the CNAME files shown at 3:10 are the same for all stores? I have reason to believe that the CNAME files have been lost from my DNS settings after a domain transfer. However, Shopify sees my domain as already authenticated, so I am unable to find these file instructions in my own Shopify admin page. If they are the same, I may just copy them from this video.
@@Justin-OSP I believe they are different for each store. Try to run the setup again or contact Shopify support. Better to fix this asap
Wait do i need mailer lite to authenticate my domain? I have a Squarespace domain that I transferred to my shopify but I don't use mailer lite so how?
if you dont use mailer lite then you do not need. you just need to authenticate for your domain and any systems that send on your behalf

Hey man, we followed the steps - shows successfully authenticated but the DMARC record finder is still showing this "We were unable to find a DMARC record. As a result, this domain is not protected against abuse and likely does not meet the new Google and Yahoo sender requirements."... any ideas?
Can you share the exact value you put in your dmarc or the domain name ?
It worked for me, but i couldnt do it with p=none
They made me choose quarantine for some reason it was invalid when i chekced on DMARC inspector
Happy it worked. None parameter should work . Did you check the spelling and the exact error?

yes you can. see example:
"v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:email1@mydomain.com,mailto:email2@mydomain.com"
anyone know if not having done this would affect staff's order notifications? it doesn't seem like it would, plus 2/3 of the accounts have been receiving them, but here we are. guess I'll comment back for posterity in

I certainly wasn't taking any chances! it turned out that yep it got the emails to go through again. wanted to understand the why behind it a little better

Missed the authentication date and unable to send emails to my customers from my domain name. Is there another way to fix this issue? Thanks
Don’t worry about the date. Just follow the steps and setup dmarc and all that is needed and you should be fine

@@onescales My domain is actually set up through shopify. So to fix the problem I opened Gmail settings where I could plug in the info but wasn't successful. Any advice?
