In this One Piece Isshō Fujitora character analysis I discuss the role of Fujitora in the one piece manga and the one piece anime. Fujitora is one of the marine admirals and wields the power of the gravity paramecia devil fruit. Important moments for his character include the events surrounding the dressrosa arc with Doflamingo, Law, Sabo and the straw hats as well as the abolishment of the warlord system. Fujitora follows the path of blind justice, which is unique in the line of Akainu, Aokiji and Kizaru, who all have their own take on the question of what justice truly is.

Fujitora would’ve been around 12-13 years old during the Rock pirates era, wonder if they were the reason he blinded himself.

I feel like you've overlooked a fundamental characteristic the relates to Fujitora's sense of justice: His gambling habit. It shows that he believes that the natural state of the world is fair and balanced, and reflects his desire to punish those who cheat. Later on, when faced with the decision of what to do with Luffy, he again relies on neutral chance. That said, with his powers, it's possible he manipulated the dice to get the result he wanted, which would actually reflect growth in his character, as it would show his willingness to take responsibility to enact his own sense of justice.

I was just thinking about how interesting a character Fujitora is a few hours ago & this video pops up. I'm satisfied.

Do you mean “philosophy” when you say “psychology”? Because the themes and topics that you, through Fujitora’s trials and tribulations, are talking about, have less to do with the behaviour of the human brain and more to do with ethics and predicaments of the conscience.

I cant help but think Fujitora was sent far into the future by Toki in the past. Perhaps he is from the void century? He did make sure he spoke with the king of alabasta about a decision their kingdom made when they decided to not join the other celestrial dragons in marijois... He just gives me the vibes of a guy who has been sent to the future and was disgusted by what he saw. I think he saw the factories in wano and blinded himself. Or blinded himself once he was drafted into the marines..

Another thing that is interesting is the fact that the strawhats are masquerading so nobody recognizes them but fujitora wouldn't see them eitherway he sees what they truly are inside he sees their true souls their spirit and maybe their true intentions

Fujitora is amongst the Marines who I truly respect and admire for protecting the citizens HOW IS SUPPOSED TO BE. Heck! Nami's late Mother served with them and probably were a few in a dozens to actually give a damn about the citizens who can't defend themselves. We need more of them than the IDIOTS who are failing so spectacularly.

One more thing I find really interesting is the choice of color, with Fujitora's design being purple...a mix of Blue (Aokiji) and Red (Akainu), which is what he turned into in the end. One thing I noticed (but unsure) about Aokiji is that he is a moral yet passive justice. He doesn't think in black/white like Akainu but neither does he go out of his way to confront the morality of Akainu's action. A bit different from Kizaru, whos sense of justice seems to be like a "Let it be" type, with neither morality questioning nor enforcement. Fujitora, on the other hand, understands Aokiji's PoV and set out to enforce/confront it.

Hey everyone! After what feels like a way too long time, I finally managed to analyse another character! These are so much fun to make! What are your thoughts on Fujitora? And what series of characters should I do next? Stay safe out there 🦊

I like the choice of his devil fruit as it adds to his character.
