These are unbelievable. I have them on my stock gen 2 Viper 335s rears. Street use only. Quiet, decent treadwear, and a TON of grip.
Just the review I have been looking for before I take the dive. Was considering the MT ETs until the NT555R2 came into the options. Thanks man💪🏾
No problem brotha
@@AutomotivePerformance hey! are you running NT555r2 on the fronts as well? Or just the rear? Also does it cause the tire light to come on?
Thanks for the info! I am so educated on these tires now for my son’s cars. “920whp and below” is my Go-To line lol. Thanks again bro.
I just purchased these for my car. Haven't tried them yet, waiting for that first track day. I'll post the results to my channel when that happens. Thank you for the review.
Thnx for the review...!
Thank you for testing.
Excellent I just bought these for my 700whp 2021 gt
Love the content brotha! Much appreciated. I just purchased a 2020 Shelby GT500 and I wanna replace the Michelin pilots right away. 🐍🤜🏻🤛🏼
Thanks for thé content and good tips.
No problem brotha! Thank you for the support!
Thanks. Gonna try them on my formula
Nice video , have you tried Mickey Thompson drag radials ?
Thinking about tires for my old school GT500. This helped! Love your channel. Car is sickkkkk!!
Thank you bro! Really appreciate it!
Thanks for the feedback bro
No problem bro
Hey man good video and I got a 2002 corvette z06 750whp so they should hook up good!
Just put a set of these NT555RII 315/35R20s on my 20 GT500. I'm looking for improved 60' times over my my 315 R888Rs. While occasionally the Toyos would hook to a 1.65 60' they were very inconsistent. Haven't had a chance to do any hard pulls on them yet but you do immediately notice the increase in height over the Toyos, they are approximately 1" taller and really fill the wheel well. With the increased sidewall and softer compound I'm hoping they will hook. Can I ask what pressures you ran them on the street and strip for best performance. My power is stock with a JLT and the best I have run thus far is 10:43 @129.
Gonna buy some for my Redeye Great video!!
Thank you brotha!
I read reviews that states the sidewalls are not as stiff as the Cup 2’s and when turning at higher speeds on the street, they can feel flex in the rear and said “they felt squishier”. I can’t decide on what to get for my GT350. My original Cup 2’s are hard from age and heat cycles. I just spin all the time. So far it’s between the R888R’s or the 555R2’s. Any thoughts???
I will buy 325/50r15 but not sure really to go with Nitto or MT thx for your helpful review
great information
Thanks for all the info just what I was looking for! I'm considering getting them. they would be on 19" wheel but with my current set up making 960 hp to the wheels idk might get a little sketchy 🤣
No problem! You should be good bro! Just don’t do any 1st gear rolls lol
What do you think is better for 665whp. MT SS or these nittos. I have street R on 17s for the strip, but I want the best radial on my 20s for hooking whenever I drive it cause the street R only lasts like 2-3k miles lol
I have the 555r on 20s fir my 2011 Camaro. Ive had them 3 years and have been caught in a few downpours. They worked great. Thanks for the review im getting these for my Camaro now its cammed.
No problem brotha!
I bought them in th e15 inch rim application for a 1987 c10 stepside build. 454, th400, 373 limited slip, front and rear 1 ton dually roll bar system. I think they will be fine in a road course application. We will find out.
What size did you put on the rear? How big can you go? Do they come in a 325 for our cars? Thanks
Hell yeah! 🔥
Thanks bro! 🤙🏻
Raymundo!!
Do you have traction off in those street pulls? Can’t tell if that’s the gas light or traction haha. They seem to work good
Hi fantastic review was wondering how the fit is with the 35 sidewall And if there’s any warning lights or anything with the tires being that far apart between front and rear
Nope! No warning lights on my 2021 GT500
Nice. That inlet should be covered though, especially being parked. Rodents love inlets.
Do you think these tires would hook on a whipple 2019 5.0?
Does anyone know if a 18x10 with 295/40/18 with a +22 offset will fit a stock suspension 2010 mustang gt on the rear?
NICE BRO!! GOOD INFO ON THOSE NITTO TIRES🤙🏽💯💯‼️😈🐍
Thank you brotha!
I ran through my Toyo R888r's and there's a ton of road noise. They hook, but are loud. I bought the Nitto's this time so we'll see the differrence soon.
Any updates? How are they compared to the Toyo. My car is 740whp but I’m leaning towards these tires..
Just bought these for my little 450whp car 😅😅. Really wanted PS4S but nittos were suprisingly cheaper.
What PSI are you running the tires on these pulls?
How much horsepower? I may have missed you mentioning it..
Did u notice a little inside edge of tire wearing a little fast? Or is that just nature of these cars?
bro you have a steady ass hand lol
This is 100% the video I'm looking for. I'm a little over 700whp on a 20''. Toyo has the balls to charge $512 per R888R for a 285/30/20. These Nittos seem to be the way to go!
You’ll need Mickey Thompson et street R is you have 700whp
@@S550leon Not sure how you figure that, considering at 4:32 he's got 840whp and is hooking up just fine in 2nd gear lmao. I think MT makes relatively ugly tires and I'm pretty sure there's nothing they offer that's compatible with my stock 20" wheels.
@@G82Jesse what tire are you using on your F80 with the 20in wheels?
Just put 315 Nitto and I can’t hook under 60mph with about 850whp
@@Coyote_boa on what car?
Man I wished mine Hooked as good as yours . What psi did you run them at on the track ? I’m a gen 3 10r80 e-85 and I spin them from a 40 and from a dig was a fail even tho I warmed them up and my tire pressure is at 16psi
17 psi at the track 25 psi on the street
Are you sure you have R2 & not G2
What size tire did you put on your car? 20 x ? x ?
So if I am running Cup 2 I shouldn't consider changing to Nt555EII right?
Depends on your goals and power level... If you want the best times at the drag strip then yes switch to a stickier tire, if your car doesn’t hook on the street then switch over
Just got some for my super stock since my stock nittos are on back order lol
So for a Whipple 10r80 only 620 hp GT at the wheels these should be perfect for rolls starting from 2nd gear (30MPH)?
Yes
@@shiftlight314 u think I can hook them from a dig launching in second gear with just 480 whp ?
Did you mention your width? Just “on20s” is all I heard.
what’s the best tires for my 700whp mustang gt i have drag radial but need a tire to drive in different weather with good grip need a daily driver tire
I would say this one brotha! It’s a really good tire
@@AutomotivePerformance how many miles does it last
Let's see the tire in action and less talk
Very nice. I'm wanting to get these for at least the rears on my 2018 Camaro ss 1LE. The goodyear eagle supercar 3 I have spin in first even from about 30 or so like your 900 hp example. Plus I have about wore the rears down after about 7,000 miles. No burn outs but a ton of spirited driving
I can’t believe they made an automatic gt500. Seems sacreligious to me lol I bet it rips tho
would you say 275 are good for a car with 360 TQ and HP to the wheels? from a (dig)
Yeah bro you’ll hook up fine! Try and fit the biggest tire you can, but if 275 is the biggest you’ll still be fine
@@AutomotivePerformance thanks
@@AlBaNiAnGaNgStA93 No problem
Toyo 888r for the street on my 2020gt500!!!!!!
Yeah they're great. Just a FUCK ton of Noise
You should be dropping psi to 18 on the street
How are they in turns compared to the mp4s?
nothing beats cup 2s in the corners!!
What's the straight scoop on the NITTOs bro? There are a lot of videos out there from Hellcat and Redeye guys saying the Mickey Thompson ET Street SS hook better than the Nitto555RII in roll racing even from 40mph on... I always thought the Nitto555RII was the way to go for hooking on the street roll racing. I have a 19 Mustang GT 5.0 with a stage 2 Whipple made 742 at the wheel. I blow the 275 Michellin Pilot Sport 4S off even at a 70mph roll...You said you are making about a 920whp, so im very interested if you really can hook roll racing with the Nitto's and at what speed? Are these Dodge boys just inventing this crap? Thanks my man...Your stang looks badass.
If I were to choose I’d go with the Mickeys, but these work very well and you’ll have no issues hooking with them I ran them at 18 psi and warmed them up before my pulls and they hooked from a 50-60 roll anything under that they didn’t hook for me.... Thanks bro
Thanks for the reply brother. I was intrested in the Nitto because they are at least a little bit safe in the rain... Mickey ET street SS is like being on ice in the rain.
@@ssfouryou Yeah the Nittos will last longer and are better for daily driving
These should plenty good for my scat right ? 275 all around
100%
I'm looking at supercharging my 2020. Nothing crazy with a goal of 600 rwhp. I have 275 michelin pilot sport 4s on the rears now. I spent a couple grand on aftermarket wheels so I'm pretty much stuck running a 275 or 285 tire out back. I'd imagine the r2 in a 275 would start hooking at 40 in a second gear pull. I'm going with a centrifugal supercharger so all the power won't hit at once like your car
I have a similar goal at 630rwhp for street. I dont know what people are thinking with more power than that. I like using first gear. Starting a pull at the highway speed limit seems a little dangerous for street.
I done a Vortech Supercharger on my 16, I made 639 to the wheels. I'm running Atturos 285 on the rear now, they are good from 2nd gear on, shift from 1st to second sometimes can send you sideways so I'm definitely looking to upgrade my tires bc the first gear is nearly useless from a stop.
Holy shit the acceleration is bonkers lol
How well do they hook from a dig on 840 hp?
Never tried them from a dig at 840, but at 900+ at the track they hooked up well
What psi you leave it at when you race from digs?
Wondering the same.
15-17 psi
4:40 is it the frame rate or optical illusion or is the Tach that jumpy? At the night scene it looks to be making 17 psi vs 13 psi so combined with lower temps and additional power from the cooler air its certainly a drivers side adjustment. She's a ripper for sure man.
Probably an illusion from the wide angle go pro lol… The car was on the stock pulley during the 13 psi pulls and an upgraded pulley on the night clips that’s why there’s a difference is psi… Thank you for watching bro really appreciate it
It's a drag radial? I thought these are just a UHP summer tire?
nevermind. was thinking of the nt555 g2s
Hey that's impressive they can handle 800hp. I'm pushing 500hp with 275 do you think they can handle it? What do you think of the NTO5R? Is it better?
I believe nitto discontinued the nto5r
@@josephmendozajr8993 ya I noticed that at America's tire. I wonder if I can still get them. If I can't what should I use instead. I don't understand why they would discontinue them. I mean the 555r2 are not as sticky so I don't know how that could be the new go to.
@@generolmatt4 from my experience with the nto5r once it got half tread the tire was useless and you could not drive it in the rain at all. You may be able to find some dealers that have leftovers but I doubt it . The new nt555r 2 is gonna be the way to go without going with a full drag drag setup , and still be able to drive it home safely
@@josephmendozajr8993 I don't care about water. I was going to mount it on rims and put it on to drag race. Then when I got home put on my street tires. I just want max grip I can get but be able to drive to the strip on them.
@@generolmatt4 not sure what kind of car you have , but if that’s the case get a separate set of rears and throw some mt et street r tires on them. That’s what I’m doing. I have a hellcat, with a pair of 17s for the strip
I have a set of these tires on my 2016 392 Scat Pack Charger. 275/40/20 and they are altogether insufficient at this size on the street. I'll try some M/T drag radials in 305 next time.
I’m gonna get these for my cat
meow!
I feel as my cats would try to eat the tire, no tires for my cats!!! 😂
Asphalt- car will spin heat or no heat - Asphalt weeps oil to the surface believe it or not...
Concrete - car will hook
Driven cars with full slicks to and from the track, drag radials also.
I avoid hard pulls down low / racing on Asphalt roads.
Concrete roads car will hookup much better. NT05R or Full Blown slicks same results.
I wanna try these for my 19s as a daily set up I just want them to hook from 3rd gear lol
So did you find a tire that you like?
dodge viper gen 2 stock? no track racing or street.
Bro, please cover up your speedometer on your videos. People are getting popped by the cops for that. Awesome car and awesome videos
@@gdub5588 How so?
Depending on the speeds, you are potentially giving them evidence of felony behavior that they can use to file charges. Depends on where you live and the local laws and ordinances.
what tire pressure? cold
16 psi
Are these for daily driving?
Yes you can daily these
What sizes did you get?
315/35/20
@@AutomotivePerformance on what size wheel
Why not just go with a R888r that doesn't have to be hot to hook at 60 mph....no they aren't as good from a dig on a prepped surface when warm, but they are better literally everywhere else and will last longer...
Because they are about 500$ a tire
@@DougdeaI run a 275/35/19 for 350 each...in today's money. Last set was like 300. They are only about 25 bucks more than the NT555RII
More horsepower..
At 950 hp there is not much that can handle that go to a racing slick at that point.
Good review on the tires....just need to show some more personality....you sound like a robot....relax a little and let it flow....
Thanks brotha I appreciate the advice!
@Expect no love @Automotive Performance - I actually agree with this comment a LOT - this is by far the best technical review I've seen of these tires and provided evidence (video) of the performance. I love the way he breaks it down by: WHP, results of test using parameters 1 (1st gear/30mpg), results of test using parameters 2 (2nd gear/50mpg) etc. Its just that, when he's talking to the camera, it sounds like he's reading from a script. If I wasn't already so interested in the content, i wouldn't have been able to pay attention. Best tire review format that I have been able to find on CZcams. Great review and I agree with this comment - if you sound more natural, you will attract more people and it will help grow your channel (which I want to happen because I like your content). Best of luck, thank you for the review and take care!
@@1994SHOtime Appreciate that brother! It’s always good to hear constructive criticism it helps me create better videos!
Wtf size are they!? How you gonna review a tire and not say if there 305 35 or 315 35
So not 1000hp... 920hp
Very not informative video, just are waste of time. You can have 1000 hp but if you have 100 torque you will be able to dead hook with 235 street not R tires. Next time put tires full size on the description or in the video atleast, with how much torque car have.
