I really feel like anyone would be happy just adding on that stock and new pump grip if they didn't want to fiddle with any internals, but that extended mag release and improved trigger just seem like the cherries on top.

This is absolutely beautiful. The paint choice makes me think of high performance carbon super bikes. Very interesting that you didn't focus on ways to increase the velocity, or the "accuracy". which is the first thing that comes to mind when considering "upgrades". But the paint job here... bravo.
Accuracy of rival is pretty inherent and the design language on these is nice enough as is, as for the power. We coulda dialed it up 15 fps but returns in real range data for rival are minimal and the internals arent super beefy.
The Magwell and trigger guard area.. interesting. If a whole unit and breech system could be printed, they made a great short dart launching apparatus.
If you're still looking for a name, I think an easy twist on pathfinder could be range-finder. It is an "accuracy" focused product and I think it fits :)

Honestly my 3d printer has been a godsend, the filament is so cheap you can print so much with one spool. Upgraded it with an ezabl auto level system and once you learn the software u can save bank instead of paying for mods that really cost pennies to produce, like 8 bucks for the trigger release, but it is a 2 hour print and 50 cents worth of filament. not to mention you can print a whole sheet at once it is the only economical way to get into 3d printed mods. not saying that developing these 3d files is easy work cause it aint, but being a 3d designer sometimes it is easier to design something yourself. I could imagine spending like 50 to pimp out an entire blaster anything higher I can replicate it myself and enjoy the process

Normal 2014 model magazine can work properly because if you look properly, it got a small staircase notches and then Pathfinder magazine catch only can lock tightly and subsequently to release the latch that catch the rival round. Meanwhile, if you look at 2016 magazine, the staircase notches is gone and the magazine catch just loosely catch it and cannot release the latch and cannot release the round. Conclusion, Pathfinder only compatible with 2014 model magazine but not 2016.
Agreed. Same issue. Pathfinder only works best with mags that came with it. Otherwise those rival finisher mags works fine too. The transparent mags are a bit finicky though..
Dude you made the fate actually better than the pilot now with that on board storage. Without it the fate just looks and feels like a blaster you would pick up for somebody as a gift if you didn't know what to get them. The pilot smaller and does the same stuff minus the fun break action, of course.
I'm quite late, and you probably found out since, but the Pathfinder mags are particularly strange. The Pathfinder magazine has a small shim under the overhang at the top. This makes other magazines that don't have that shim incompatible with Pathfinder, but the Pathfinder mags are still compatible with other blasters. It's a really strange design choice, but it's not hard to 3d print some small shims and superglue them onto other Rival mags to make them compatible with the Pathfinder.
For those without a printer or don’t want anything to do with printers I took mine apart and used plastic pellets that you heat up in water and is moldable by hand and I molded it to the back of my trigger mechanism and it took five minutes and it works amazing slight pull will fire instead of the long trigger pull or even super gluing something in between that space would work too but the plastic pellets worked for me

I just took the stock pump grip on mine and flipped it around 180 degrees. I had to cut out some material to fit over the little bump under the stock, but it looks pretty cool and works much better

The foregrip looks great, did you consider a operator style one to have your hand perpendicular to the barrel, also added rails would be cool too. All in all it looks amazing and im planning on buying myself one👍
Seems to be related to the HIR Magazine Compatibility change to prevent the DZ powerball/etc from using them. New Hasbro-Only magazines work, while old cross-brand magazines don't. When I get a Pathfinder I'll try to design a new magazine catch to work with the old style...

Low-key eyeballing that 'Fate' rail upgrade. Hasbro should have at least provided 1 or 2 back-up round storage spots, which we can see would have improved the overall look. My Target doesn't have this line yet - They're clearancing the 'Curve' line ASAP, presumably to stock the new line.

Calling out the color separation via different shell pieces as being for the sake of cost cutting just feels wrong. I will always prefer that method for color blocking over paint, and it should especially be highlighted as being BETTER for hobbyists who wish to custom paint their blasters.

I've watched your mod guides for a long time but stopped after a while because i was uninterested in acquiring any new nerf blasters, but now that the pathfinder is out, do you think it's worth picking up even if i want to keep it stock and maybe mod it sometime later down the road? Also, what kind of paint do you use? I've attempted painting in the past, but it always wore off even with clear coat. I love this blaster's design and have wanted one like this for a long time. I've been doing sls for nerf fir a while it makes some wonderful flywheel cages.
I wonder how a Diamond-Tech trigger would work in here? Also has anyone tried re-chambering one of these in .300 Blackout?
This whole line reminds me of the Seventh Seraph weapon archetypes, and the paint job takes that look even further.
If you were to slap a bar between the trigger and magazine it'd look just like an omolon fusion rifle.

One tip I heard for disassembling the clips is to get a laptop spudger, as those are made specifically to find clips without damaging them.

Love these new blasters, but Rival was never gone, since 2015 there has been consistent Rival releases every year!
I just picked up a pathfinder and wanted to mod and paint mine. But I saw your video and had to buy the mod kit. Can’t wait to instal it.
Would be so cool to call it the "Trail Blazer" as oppose to the "Path Finder". Sticks with the original naming scheme, but sounds more badass!

@16:00 XfoxGames had the same issue with the old mags not working. They don't quit sit all the way up in the blaster correctly.
