Recently got a used 2017 AT, with aftermarket exhaust too. The original tires handled really weird, big upgrade changing to Conti TKC70, very happy with them. Next thing I changed back to the stock exhaust, much better in my opinion and subjectively more torque in the lower rev range. Great simple reliable bike, perfect upgrade from the 98 TransAlp I was riding before.
Picked up a 2017 DCT AT 2 weeks ago, can't wait for the lockdown to be lifted then I'll be off, looking at some conti tkc70 tyres once the Dunlops run out.
You made the right choice. I have the Adventure Sports DCT 2018. Love it. On my channel you can see some of my weekend rides on my beautiful Madeira Island.
👍 off to Wales this week for 4 days , Snowdonia and Brecon mountain area . Was going to take my new Ktm 890R Duke BUT rain forecast so taking the trusty AT 👍
Love your beautiful Jersey shoreline. I am exactly in the market for a used one in California. Like your idea on the 3M tubeless conversion kit. Thanks!!

Thank you for sharing. Question: Have you experienced any tank slapping? Have you heard of any tank slapping issues on the 2016-2019 Africa Twin (Standard)?
Hi . No issues and I’ve ridden mine pretty much flat out fully loaded . I have put a stiffer rear spring on . Always best to adjust sag etc on suspension on any bike to get it to suit you , many people simply don’t touch it . 🙈
Hi, sadly not. I wanted to keep both the AT and my GS but the boss, aka the wife wouldn't let me😂. Still wish I had the AT though. I would put the throttle lock on it for the motorway and extra lights...oh and go tubeless as repairing the tubes without damaging , in my case, gold wheel rims would prove impossible under the best of conditions and beige me I tried it out numerous times when I had the tubes on mine just to see how difficult it could be. Nope , glad I went tubeless.👍enjoy the AT
for the sound the 2018/2019 have 95 db on the stock pipe a 2 chamber pipe and 2016/17 have 92 db stock so get a used 2018+ pipe to be happy czcams.com/video/e_Qx51b4cIs/video.html i stay with tube tire,s never had a isseu on my Cagiva Gran Canyon and believe strongly my crf1000 wil hold 20 years + tube tire,s as factory qualety control disign them for long term. on story of a police motorcycle loosing front tire pressure at hich speed pursuit and crashed hard not knowing what happend to him (investigation it got a bad inside valve) don,t like to lose my crf1000 bleu ....
Each to their own, I know one viewer who within weeks of having a crf1000 had a flat on the highway with his wife on the back.....he said never again and went tubeless. I would definitely do it again. I always seem to get a puncture and am unlucky!!!! Ride safe .

about the same path here. Riding a 929rr right now, thinking to move to a adv and get a less aggressive sport bike if I really miss it.

Thanks. I'm in no way jealous of the California weather and supposedly great access to the hills .

I totally abuse mine and it's never once complained
I think at 40 mph you'd struggle to achieve a tank slapper 🤣
Are you still riding the Africa Twin?
If so, any thoughts, comments or suggestions for a fellow AT owner?
