    Sheesh. This went from a 50 dollar 45 minute quick fix on my old car to a 3-4 hour job real fast.. love technology

    You know why mechanic hates engineers

      I worked as a production supervisor/foreman with mechanics and engineers. I think all engineers should do an apprenticeship as a mechanic in the real world before qualifying for an engineering degree.

    Damn designers should be required to remove and replace all parts they design on a fully assembled vehicle multiple times!

    On the 2008 4 cylinders Hybrid, the Tensioner is on the top. Where they show the idler on this car. Belt replacement is easy, and the thermostat is right under it. Just pop it off, 3- 8mm screws, and you have plenty of hand space. Just sayin. Nobody has a video for that one.

    Are you just replacing the thermostat or is it the whole house unit too

    How long is this process and whats the cost in general?

    • @FerrellBill
      @FerrellBill Před rokem +1

      The cost is a thermostat and it probably comes with the o-rings. The non-monetary cost is just a general PITA as replacing a thermostat used to take 15 damn minutes.

    Would be helpful if you advised viewers that you neglect other engines that are available in the Ford Escape. Including "Titanium" and "2.0 litre" in the search produced your link, yet there is no mention of the 2.0 or the 2.5 litre engine specs. Not exactly helpful. Try having your website developers refine their skills so that useless search results don't appear on users computer when search for viable information, and try putting a disclaimer of sorts up front indicating that your video excludes 2.0 and 2.5 litre engines. Would be outstanding if you didn't waste the viewers' time! Otherwise, nice video showing how Ford screws over consumers with outrageous procedure for removing/replacing a simple part on the vehicle as a thermostat. No surprise on the part of Ford's lack of ethics and professionalism. It's running rampant across Corporate America.

    That's not what a 2002 Escape looks like the T sat is on the right side the alternator is under the passanger side not sure what car your working on

    Why would you take the alternator off, their are many easier ways to pull this job off successfully, way too much work and extra here

      I'd like to see you do this without removing the alternate, maybe if you took the radiator out

      @@mikehoncho9344 essentially if you only are replacing the thermostat and nothing else you can disconnect the battery pull it out completely land reach your arm in, if you have good lighting and a partner if needed but yea, im doing what you just said and replacing the radiator while im at it. People who don’t have a lift can try the battery method and reach across in tight space nonetheless. Good luck fellas. If your positive its only the thermostat don’t do all of this. If you go to a mechanic they will more then likely try to get you to replace the radiator or the alternator as-well because most are dishonest and a thermostat is a fairly cheap job for a decent amount of assembly. Trust me
