    Come on this would make a great 1st vehicle for your young fella, road sign the floors and bed fix the brakes maybe put a blanket on the old bench seat for him. He could drive something with a lot of character ta High School one day. Plus he would have the great story of how he rescued it from a field with his Dad.

    Your pressure washer in the interior reminds me of a true story: Back when I was about your son's age, almost every Saturday my father used to take his old Bumpside F250 down to the shop at work in south "Minne-a-no-place" and give it a thorough wash...including the interior. To start, we would remove the ol' "wall to wall" rubber mat, he would hose down the floor and seat(!), and I would get in there with an ol' wash tub brush and scrub on the floors and vinyl seat while he washed the exterior. When I was done washing the interior, he would take the hose and rinse everything down, we'd let 'er dry for a bit while we had some lunch, throw the rubber mat back in, and take 'er home. Good memories!

    Just a tip.
    (pressure washing is part of what I do)
    Wet it and shoot pool shock mixed half and half with water and your gain. Use a pump up sprayer.
    Mold will melt off... Seriously. Stronger mix if you need it. Of course, use ppe.
    You can also use a weaker mix for interior.

    • @pejjiz
      @pejjiz Před 4 lety

      @@Tsalinger the reason the fe intake manifold is heavy is because when they designed the engine they had racing in mind. In nascar you couldn't have aluminium heads but you could have an aluminium intake so they just made the intake part of the heads to shave weight and it worked. It does put a strain on the back when lifting it off though!

    The leaky mechanical fuel pump can be removed and a cover plate can be bought or made to eliminate the hole in the block. You can rattle can the body using zinc chromate primer and antique white rustoleum glossy, satin, or flat paint as you wish. I have a white '79 GMC C-1500 I'm restoring and that is what I used.
