I have the TopDon Phoenix Smart and love it! I had a memory issue with my first model and Topdon sent a new one, no questions asked even after I had it for a couple months. It's been working great. However, I have seen multiple times, incorrect voltage readings on oxygen sensors and ignition voltage parameters. If I see a voltage parameter out of bounds, I'll first make sure I can trust the data.

Brings back memories of a 2006 RAM 1500 Bighorn HEMI regular cab at CARMAX I ended up having to not buy. They offered to fix it, not them, dash has to come apart, but they send it out was going to take over a week so I got impatient and got another vehicle. I really wanted it. They even loaned me a car the whole time for days they had it looked at.
The blend doors are cheap plastic and break. Heater Treater makes metal replacement doors and related parts so it never has to be fixed again. This kind of job is a nightmare. Credit to the salesman to test all the doors/vents and HE noticed it.😇

That $900 topdon makes more sense; or the Xtool D8, or even the Autel 808 now that it has bi-directional controls added to it; or the Thinktool. It's such a great time to get into scantools though- since they are being forced to compete, everyone is putting out excellent stuff, trying to out perform the next guy. @@ScannerDanner I appreciate it. The short n skinny on it. My friend near 80 has a 90 f150 4.9l efi auto trany. Rear tank inop for decades. 6 years ago was running rough. I put alternator, belts hoses and a batt. He was to do plugs rotor and cap. I moved to houston. They had me come back to ft worth to re- remodel a house that was messed up. Truck was barely running now. He tried to pull the plugs but couldn't. They'd back easy a few turns then dead stop. I shot pb all over and went in with them then out then in and out. They had basically welded themselves in the engine. They had slag all over the smooth area past the threads all around the electrode. Git em out sucked the slag out of the cylinders. New plugs rotor cap fuel filter. The one on it looked 20 years old and was backward. Purred like a kitten. Ran like a bat out hell. 200k miles never heard it run that good. Sits most of the time. At idle 1.5 - 2 mins it had a hiccup. So tiny it wasn't a miss. It was nothing and I'm anal about that stuff. Planned on high pressure fuel injector flush. Jim obsessed on the hiccup. Day and night revving it up pissing his wife off. She calls a shop. They get it for a week. I hear him driving up and it sounded worse than before I tuned it up. I think they jacked with the timing and used the wrong marks on the timing gear cover. That 4.9 has two sets of marks and one notch out of the damper on the back side and a hairline scribe 1/8 " long near that. Red paint t had been a slopped around and saw it over the notch. Then I checked fuel pressure. 0 on the rail koeo. Three times 0. Started it and had 0 on rail with it running. Killed it. Undid gauge little gas squirted on my hand nit a lot. Pulled filter. Rigged up gauges under the truck after flushing fuel filter best I could. Put it on connected to fuel filter out. Koeo very little movement. 10 times 30 psi. Left it for hour came back 25psi. Reconnect line and gauge on rail. Koeo 30 psi. Started it 30 psi. Pulled pressure relief hose. No difference until I stick my thumb over hose then idle increased very little no diff in pressure. Rigged up connections without a filter. 35 psi. Couldn't run it like that. New filter 32-35 psi. Hard start. Even koeo multiple times before cranking it. Poor acceleration. Rough idle punch it and get pvvvttttsss stp spet pvvvvtttsz. I understand it should have min 45 psi up to 60psi. Don't think it's back filling the rear tank that is inop. It's never gotten over flowed no gas smell no fuel in vac hose on regulator. Check engine light hasn't ever come on which is amazing because it was running like it had it only had 2 cylinders. Only thing I can think next is pumpand whole set up in the tank considering it's a 90 and never been changed. Any thought ls or ideas I'd gladly welcome. I enjoy your videos. It's helped my memory some. Sadly other days I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my ass.

      1. make sure you have a good power and ground at the pump
      2. Pinch off the return line or block it off and recheck psi. This will test for a stuck open fuel psi regulator. That system should put out near 100 psi with that line blocked if the pump is good. It is very unlikely this is your issue though based on your symptoms and the fact that I've never, not once, seen a stuck open regulator on one of these systems.

How you fix that is to NOT USE IT.. Stop adjusting that dial so much. I just leave everything on full blast and either turn it on or OFF. Period. Leaving it running, while barely turned up is just silly to me. Either blast it full steam or leave it off. Operating the stystem this way makes it last much longer. You don't need your AC or heater running all the time in the background, even though you have it turned way down; that's why these things tend to fail for some people. Stop fiddling with it. lol

That's ok.. It's not off by much. Less than 1%. I think it kinda learns over time anyway, as you crank it from 0% to 100% and vise versa.

The Phoenix Plus is around $1000 and is more than capable. Combine that with a Pico scope and you are all set for way less money. A 4424A starts at about $1600.

It covers all regions cloud programming needs vpn in USA and Spain. There are no fakes just and autel has no fakes either it’s just regional sales with ip limitations. TopDon has thinkcar programming in it as well so you’ll find them the same. As a USA seller we are retricted to USA/Canada sales. Hope that makes sense. Just to Clarify you can use/buy anywhere on the globe
