To get it out of the way really quick, losing around with over 2.1m points is goddamn insane. But I just want to point out that amazing sportsmanship at 3:35 from Fractal. I mean, look at that hug, man. He wasn't disappointed he didn't win, but so glad to be there and so happy for Eric. I've never seen a hug like that from someone who just placed second. Also, thank you for that speech at 4:25, Chris. ❤
I am new to this, I'm impressed by seeing what I thought was humanly impossible, but to see these guys being so friendly and positive as they are competing is incredible. I hope this community grows and I can't imagine what the players will be capable of in the future.
Greatest weekend ever. Xeno had asked me why i loved Tetris but I couldn’t give an answer. CTWC helped me figure out why I love this game so much. Tetris is so special to me because it’s all about turning up at the venue, hanging out with friends, and playing our favorite game really cool. The close-knit community we have makes it feel like we’re all friends and it’s crazy that this puzzle game from the 80’s has given me so much. Hope to see y’all next year.
I was there.. this was the coolest event of my life!!! If you ever get the chance, go to the CTWC. Quick shout out to my mans eric I met there, we gotta get on a Tetris
4:25 I liked Chris Tang's speech after he won the Lifetime Achievement Awards. I've had people tell me that the World is a terrible place. The World might not be perfect, but it has amazing things to offer. When I decided to watch the CTWC on CZcams, I didn't know that I would be watching this tournament every year.
I got kinda emotional during this Even tho im just an emulator player with a pb of 362k i really love the fact that this community has pretty much 0 drama in it. I really hope i can attend next year. It looks like so much fun!
There should be a world championship for video games for all around gaming, where a player has to play a variety of different games to be world champion. Just like other games where is specialized in one game, variety all around would test a professional gamers skills in all genre categories.
Although I was a little sad that most of the OG tetris legends were blown away by all the new blood and innovation flooding into the scene recently (blame Covid?), this was an amazing event to watch. The spirit and positive attitude of the competition sure stayed the same and Chris' words make me tear up yet again 😅 I'm grateful I get to be part of this, even just as a little spectator! 💜
Watching all these mad killscreen chasedowns was like nailbiter after nailbiter, so intense! I hope they don't set some linecap or do something else to prevent games from going on like this.
@@Alvin_Vivian Nobody can play forever, except maybe Eric😂. It's a shame, sure but don't bash him for it. He was there in spirit, and that I have no doubt
@@Alvin_Vivian Even if Joseph wouldn't have won, he'd still have been a top player. And different people will choose to prioritize different things. It's perfectly legitimate for Joseph to decide that he needs to spend that time on schoolwork or irl responsibilities, and for Eric and Fractal to decide that taking the time to come to the tournament is worth it to them.
@@elizabethmac1475 For sure, and Joseph almost beat Huff in the rematch last year with tapping was a microinch away from doing it which woulda made him top 2-3 last year, even if Joseph just used tapping there is zero question hed have made the top 8 yet again at least in 2022.
They have to stat playing against time at this point. When the pros can just keep playing like that, you need a hard limit to motivate riskier play, like in the good ol days. However now the limit wouldn't be the killscreen, but a time limit; who get's the highest score before the time ends. Riskier play and tetrises in killscreen would be so much more interesting than one line burns for 10 minutes.
Some or most if there younger are just more awkward than others, obviously gonna be an issue more with teenagers then adults which champs of the past were but also gonna be an issue when anyone besides Dog or Joseph who are surprisingly good in front of a camera and less awkward win who are exceptions to that general rule, which was the case this year. In the end skills and accomplishments matter most in a tournament period bottom line a rightful winner being Eric was justified, but you do prob have a point if the views are down as opposed to previous years for now.
best weekend ever.
god yes it absolutely was
100%
god yes.
Casual follower here, did Joseph not compete?

SO glad I could make it out this year. CTWC community is truly something else
First, there's Vince Lombardi and then there's another legend -- Jonas Neubauer. And the Portland CTWC is OUR way of saying "the Super Bowl".
Haha damn, with the remember the titans music it really makes this even more epic. I think Disney found its next film

Honored to have witnessed this in person! It was freaking insane.
I’m not crying; you’re crying 🥹

This might sound weird but I really enjoyed watching the hugs after the matches, it made me feel really good inside.
Absolutely amazing video!!! Making me already miss everyone and definitely Valor’s hug. Cannot wait for next year!!!
Truely a spectacular event!
Unbelievable passion from the players and community members that weekend. Great recap video, it's edited so well!

Unforgettable weekend.
But when you get the line...
wholesome gamers
Так держать, молодцы🔥🔥🔥👍🏻
Dang, it’s a tiny bit sad that me and Batfoy missed the silver bracket photo.
Jealous. I feel like I let you down because I live in Seattle and this is “down the street”. Such a great event.
Very cool
Already miss you all :')
Till next year
buncha gamers
i love this community.
I agree, I was there too

I was going to ask if you spoke Swedish but I realized that the shark he is holding is probably from IKEA. 😂 Nice comment though 👍🏻
What happened with Joseph (the one who beat Jonas)? Didn't see him at all?
he couldn’t come this year because of college
@@spxcesoda Excuses, Fractal is in college too, and so is EricICX.
He's just past his prime.

ERIC!
Im so glad the community quickly moved to rolling since hypertapping strenuously exhausting not good for kids.
RAHHHHHH
It was a great tournament even though i found it sad that greentea, koryean, josepf and Nenu weren't their
Where is Joseph?
Joseph Saelee was busy with college.

There is a reason why number of viewers is so low. The best players have no personality and people don’t care for them
