  • In this video we manage to get our Defender to wake up and we use the remote app. This allows us to see vehicle journeys, make the lights flash and the buzzer beep, remote start the car to warm it up / cool it down, lock and unlock the car etc.

Hi 👋 I am using In Control in my Range Rover . Asleep 😴 mode is showing after lock 🔐 last location without moving the car 🚗. And other features you can check windows/ Doors 🚪 / Bonnet and Boot status is open/ closed. And remote start is cut off after 25/30 minutes automatically.
    Very nice 👍 video.
    Thanks 🙏 🙏

Another fascinating video. I am a big fan of new technology but I can't see any use for this other than it being nice on the odd day when its cold and you want to warm it up. However i just put my coat on when its like that. I cannot see why i would want to start it or lock it from my phone, especially when its as slow as that, just use the key fob buttons. I lost my wife's Fiat 500 in a dark car park once but i've never lost a landrover ! :) This just looks like more complicated electronic type stuff that can go wrong.

A week before delivery I was told to download the newer of the two apps, did so to my new iPhone SE after checking that I still had my account from 2018 when I left LR ownership for a while, account was OK, logging worked fine there but neither the dealership team nor I could get into it by smartphone only on laptop or pc....... anyway told LRCS and nothing happened for 2 weeks then I was requested to download the old app V1.8 I think it is and Lo and behold straight in, all functions are working fine. I’ve owned many Land Rovers and Range Rovers, 13 up to 2018, and only one ever gave any problems. I wanted to keep my 2015.5 RRS SDv6 HSE Dynamic but LR refused point blank to give extended cover on the snapping crank issue so I went to the local BMW Mini dealer and bought Mini Countryman PHEV. Cracking car and in two years not a single issue, one service in May this year and one safety recall for a new label on the granny charger for the domestic plug in charger. I put down a deposit on a Defender the same day as I signed the order for the Mini. Have been disappointed that in the two years I’ve been away from buy new LR products NOTHING seems to have changed either in the way the company doesn’t value its customers or the Quality Control at the factory. As you know my car had several defects that showed up after delivery, defects that it should never have left the factory with........ dealer is fantastic JLR on the other hand couldn’t give a toss and they wonder why people won’t buy their cars. At Mini I was treated like their most valued customer, they couldn’t do enough to help when there was a problem with my order, before it was even built I had a designated person in BMW UK to deal with, all I get out of Land Rover CS is “take it to the dealer and make a warranty claim”

klopdogs the Volvo app isn’t as good as the land rovers, on the Volvo app you can turn the heating/cooling on but it only comes on at the last setting ie you can’t change the temperature. Another thing that looks better on the Land Rover is the map route, again the Volvo doesn’t do that , all it does is tell you where you started & finished , how long it took , how many miles & mpg. It doesn’t show the route. I’m talking about all versions apart from the T8 (electric car) , the T8 app does what the Land Rover app does.
