    @thatrebelboy48 Před 5 měsíci +2

    First off, the truck is absolutely beautiful and kudos to you for taking the leap of bagging the truck completely yourself.
    One thing I noticed though. You built the brackets for the calipers but the calipers are upside down. You’ll never get them bled with the bleeder screws at the bottom of the caliper. I’m not sure if you’d be able to just swap the calipers side to side and it flip the bleeder screw location but I’d definitely make sure you can before you get any further in the build.

    • @Finding_Our_Way
      @Finding_Our_Way  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Man you scared the crap outa me, I had to skim that video and make sure i didn't mess that up 😅 If you pause at the 22:25 mark, you can see the brake line bolts to the bottom of the caliper, but the bleeder is actually at the middle/top facing forward, just under the park brake spring. So springs up and it should be good 😁Thanks though man, and appreciate the compliment, truck has come a long ways, and has a long ways to go yet. cheers.

    you could go with a watts link to eliminate any side to side movement of the rear, if it poses a problem

    • @Finding_Our_Way
      @Finding_Our_Way  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes thats right, I will have to see how it all fits together. Wheel to fender clearance in the rear was veryyy tight. I might have to switch to a watts link. Well see 😆

      @NightshiftCustom Před 4 měsíci +1

      I made my panhard bar as long as I could and get a pretty small amount of side movement
      the bar is frame rail to frame rail long

      @@NightshiftCustom that sounds pretty sweet, I got distracted with a Laundry room renovation, but i did finish my new Cnotches and will throw my axle back under soon to try and gauge panhard and bags. Did you go over axle for bag location?

    • @NightshiftCustom
      @NightshiftCustom Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@Finding_Our_Way I made my own 4 link kinda like what you got going on here and put everything behind the axle pretty much did a copy and paste of ride techs old systems they use to sell for these trucks and used the same firestone 9100 tapered bags they used back then
      I can lift to stock ride front and rear but also get down just before the frame and gas tank hit the ground lol
      also my diff hits the floor of the box and had to grind some of the top of it off so it didn't push my box up lol

    Awesome truck my friend. How difficult was it to shorten the frame?

    • @Finding_Our_Way
      @Finding_Our_Way  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks man, it wasnt that difficult. I moved the axle, x brace etc forward. And chopped the difference off the back of the frame where bumper attaches.
      Front box mount is same long/short. So just find a short box. Of course short fuel tank, had driveshaft shortened. Brake/fuel lines, had to build a fuel tank bracket and retrofit shock towers to work. ✌️

    nice work man!
    Not sure what air lift bags you are using for the front but i use to have firestone bags that i think were 7"? and would have to run like 80-100 psi in the front and it was a hard ride you could say.
    I ended up cutting more steel out of the front cups and went with air lift 58616 d2600 bags up front and now I only need like 45 psi at ride and is very smooth
    also I'm using old air tech tube a-arms

    • @Finding_Our_Way
      @Finding_Our_Way  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks a lot man! So i researched for soo long and could not find a definitive awnser to how much pressure you want for a comfortable ride. I ended up going with Air lift Dominator 2500 bags with about 7" travel. I noticed all the guys running d2600 or similar were going for huge lift, which wasnt somthing i wanted. I also intentionally wanted a stiffer ride as i am used to coilover suspension on lowered cars and i wanted to be able to drive it a bit aggressively while low. That being said, it may be too stiff, i really dont know. Only one way to find out i guess. 😅 ✌️. How do you like the control arms?

    • @NightshiftCustom
      @NightshiftCustom Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@Finding_Our_Way yours maybe will work better since you got the stock arms but the tube a-arms have been great for me just had to mod them a bit to get them to sit real low
      only thing I had a problem with is the bump steer that you will get from going down so low so you will need to lower your outer tie rod ends to fix this
      I also drive her hard in the corners and its still not to soft at all with stock sway bar in the front still

    • @Finding_Our_Way
      @Finding_Our_Way  Před 4 měsíci

      @@NightshiftCustom oh that sounds cool. Well im looking forward to testing it all out. I tunneled my tie rods into the frame, hoping this is enough and i dont need to drop the tierods at the knuckle connection too.

    • @NightshiftCustom
      @NightshiftCustom Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@Finding_Our_Way you will need to drop them at the spindle to fix the bump steer that you will have. they make kits with heim joints that you can move the tie rod end up or down to fix the bump steer problem.
      I didn't like the ones you can buy as they use 5/8 heims and there not cheap so I made my own with DOM tubing and 3/4 heims
      the other problem I have now is the front shocks need to be moved into the frame so I can turn the wheel to full lock
