    I tend to over-winter a little early so I can show you on video. Everyone has their own way of protecting their plants through Winter but I like to show you what works best for me. Hope you find the video useful :)

    As I briefly mentioned in a previous recent video... I have been uploading a little less lately as I have been struggling with my hand pain (I have multiple issues: repetitive strain/osteoarthritis/inflammation, nerve & tendon pain) plus having the time and energy to film/edit around my job and rest my hands (which is what I'm supposed to be doing but don't). For now, I plan on uploading every other week which I will find a huge help. Thanks so much for your patience, understanding and continued support, I really appreciate it. I still post every few days on Instagram/FB so if you miss me feel free to follow me on there ☺️🧡 (Links below)

    Beautiful! I didn’t realize you are in a warmer climate, zone 8b. I’m in 8a. My new tree fern struggled this year in a pot. Yours looks great & you actually leave it outdoors. Wow. I leave my banana’s outside in ground & cut them back in late February. They always do well. I love your tropical paradise & it’s a perfect size to keep up with.

    Always enjoy looking at your tropical oasis it’s such a labor of love and attention to detail. I live in Pensacola Florida and while we don’t get many night below 32 it still manages to kill back the colacasias and banana plants. Wish I could pick up or order some fleece bag as as you call them so I could keep them a little talker

    Those huge banana leaves are perfect for making tamales 😂
    It's so cold over there, I couldn't stand it if I lived there. We get 16° here during the cold front season and I'm freezing.

    I wish I was a little warmer here in KY. We get down to 10° F for a low every now and then below 0. I would love to have some of the tropics in my yard too. I love your tree fern.

    Love your videos. What is an "airing cupboard"? I've never heard of this. I pulled my caladiums at the end of October since we get a little cooler in my part of Canada than you get. I air dried them then packed them in pet wood shavings & store them in my basement. Take care of yourself.💚

    • @TropicalPlantAddict
      @TropicalPlantAddict  Před 2 lety +2

      It’s a large cupboard that contains a hot water tank, it’s always lovely and warm in there so a good place to dry clothes etc. A lot of people put shelving up inside them and this is where you keep bedding and towels etc 🌻

    It's hard to chop the beautiful plants, i have done the same now.
    Im going to do my first Banaplant also.
    Did you put something inside the fleece? Or can i just wrap it around it and cover up the floor with leaves?
    I wanted to use jutte myself (don't know the English name) and 4 Branches to wrap the jutte around and inside that leaves. And also on the floor.

    • @TropicalPlantAddict
