Beautiful and as it should be. Every time I see a rare vehicle "restored" and described as "better than new" I cringe at the vandalism.
I agree with that...
Saying that it's "better than new/better than when it came out of the factory" insinuates that they're better than the people who built it in the first place...
Frankly, they're not...
They want to restore it? Fine, just don't overdo it and don't ever say that "it's better than new..."

You cannot fault the quality of the work. But original cars can’t be over restored.
Excellent, nice to see it won't be over-restored. This car was raced in Rhodesia in the late 50's, driven by John Love.

They were never made to this standard when new. It is totally wrong to over restore these cars.

Fantastic description and wonderful knowledge . I "think " l actually met this icon in 1973 . I volunteered to spend 2 weeks unpaid to train to learn the true art of panel beating . My tutor "Charlie "was very encouraging , sadly the boss only wanted me to make fuel tanks ......not for me ! The shop ceased trading but was based in Newton Abbot. Whoever was still using "gravity feed " guns and applying the paint in an "arc " fashion should be shot at dawn for 6 montns ! The golden rule of spraying is , keep the gun parallel to the work piece !!! Arrragh !!!!!!!!! Many thanks .
Highly sensitive apart from completely stripping off all the paint and re-finishing everything :=)))
