It's NOT FOR SALE. I do the leather crafting for fun! (Not an expert, Not related to Hermes at all) I have no idea how the Hermes actually make their bags, and I did everything in my own ways.

Some people here are discrediting her ability and 'talent' by saying that her skill is over practised and simply taught or repeated. She obviously is not formally trained by Hermes or Gucci in Europe. And she doesn't look like she has made 1000 of this model in the past. She figured out the templates on her own and most likely everything else in the process such as the intricate hand stitching and which materials to use. This require natural abilities like accuracy, attention to detail, 3D thinking and very neat and sensitive hands. There is talent behind this work.

Actually all those things are achieved by hard work and practice which is also a lot more respectable than pure talent. Person that has never done any leather thing would never do this as good as she did. I'm not saying she's not talented because she clearly is but saying it's all something she was born with is disrespectful to her hard work with polishing her skills.
I've made bags from scratch before with no pattern and have friends still using theirs years later but I could never make this bag as she has done because she has a skill that I have not formally acquired and that's from actually studying craft. I don't have even 90% of these tools! They are foreign to me and I can make bags but not at this level! To know these tools you have to have studied. There is talent in this, yes, but this is definitely more about skill than anything else. You don't have to be formally trained by Manolo Blahnik himself to have a go at replicating his shoes if you're already trained in shoe-making to begin with.

I work for an Italian brand, very famous for handmade bags, and very expensive ones. I have them in my hands everyday, and everyday I see people just passing in the store, craving those items which are too expensive for them, and it makes me so mad cause ppl don’t really need those things to have a good life.
And to see someone like you, develop the skills and do an awesome job by yourself, it just warms my heart.
I wish we all had this type of mentality, like “ I can do it by myself” “I can make it” in all areas of life.

Yeah I work in an embroidery lab and see and do all the hard work for high end brands. Only now I can truest appreciate the work and the price reflects it for sure.

The thing about Birkin is that they are made from skins of animals. For example the most famous and expensive one is made of off albino crocodile skin which is super rare and that's the reason they're expensive. I could be wrong Tho. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
you are aware that te fact that the bag is handmade and the time taken to make it actually cout towards the price? if she made her own design by hand, it will not hae the sameprice as a machie made handbag. the craf is worth the mone. If i could afford it i would gladly give her a couple of thousads pounds to have an original handmade handbag

Actually in the 60's many companies were making Kelly bags and selling them in their stores, I have a few from this period onwards. It's illegal to make it identical and obvioulsy so 'sign' it Hermes but otherwise it's ok. In the 1970's Louis Vuitton took a Marocain factory to court because they were making fake Vuittons. When they tested the two products, the Marocain one was much better quality so they lost as the copy wasn't 'inferior' to the original. Vuitton began working with that factory after that. Her bag is not the same crazy standard as Hermes, where they take 25 hours to make one and 48 for a Birkin. It is still an amazing bag, great job as many details that make it great are hidden from view.

This is a very practised, skilled person making this bag. She has all the tools for a start. Talent is when you are good at something natuarally even if you havent done it much before, like having a good eye when it comes to photography or drawing etc.
being good at your skill is already a talent.
not everyone is good at making these sort of things even if they practice . just like how one can study to be a fashion designer and not be really any good

I tried making a hand braided leather bracelet and I gave up... When I tried to hand sew... You need a lot of strenght and the right thread and thick needles!
The power of knowing and using the right tools
There are tools that poke holes in the leather first
I think you use an awl to poke the holes ahead of time to make it easier, or you can buy a sewing machine that is made to be able to sew leather and thick materials. They are pretty expensive, but worth the money if you have it.
