    On another note I really enjoy your style of videos.
    Have inspired me to start documenting my lack of progress in video form on my channel. Have only uploaded about half my builds so far but it might push me to finish them.

      yeah go for it. Ive just subscribed. Finishing a model is a rare experience for me - probably need to pop champagne each time that happens. Im like the wors example for finishing models.

    Good video on techniques , especially the sanding. I was not familiar with F4S Vandy 75 kit, I actually found one for $ 45.00 on MECARI, if any of your USA subscribers are interested. One idea for your gloss scheme might be to try the Tamiya Fluorescent paint. I have not used it but the videos exhibit a finish you are trying to achieve. The small bottles of Testors have a very nice gloss blue I've used in an A4 version of Blue Angels that is quite nice. I rarely use them because they take a lot of thinning to spray but look good. Although the fluorescent Tamyia are intriguing.To cover up the cockpit problem you could paint that solid, as I recall that part of the canopy was metal to reinforce it. Of course you could also make a RENO version of your " Harvard" they have their own category in the races, maybe using some formula one and motor bike decals. You know as you finish that F4 you will find the missing cockpit piece. Take a look at a video of the effect you can get from the Tamiya fluorescent paint plus maybe do a test of testors blue. Hoping to see Chicken giving you a hand you soon. Cheers Bob

      Here's a crazy but colourful idea for a 'different' Phantom , that blue, with outer wing sections in LIME GREEN?! Could look great (?) Vivid blue, silver and lime, or emerald green??? Thanks for your latest video. 👍

    Have the same citadel inks but haven't used them as washes.
    Have shaded a few cockpits with citadel nuln oil (liquid talent). It pools into corners and feathers out nicely.
    Have you tried the raised panel technique with black paint instead of silver? Guessing it would make a good substitute for what panel line washes would normally do with recessed lines

    I enjoy your content and I wonder if one day you might comment on why it is that so many modellers on YT never seem to finish a project? Is it boredom or do kits take too long or are they too hard? or is finishing a kit like saying goodbye to an only child off to War or something else? I wonder what you think thanks.

    • @jaws848
      @jaws848 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I don't think its a case of not finishing a project per say but rather it takes a lot longer than it should as most modellers,myself included, can never seem to finish a project before starting another 1...most of us have several kits on the work bench at various stages of completion at any given time.

      Interesting. I dont follow any channels on a regular enough basis to realise they werent finishing stuff. I can tell why i dont finish models at a fast rate - becayse i just work on too many instead of just finishing 1 and moving on, but i have no idea about other channels.

    Another interesting topic would be , do current models require less skill from a manufacturer because they are made in software and tool is cut by a computer, i think it required a lot more talent to produce the older tools at z higher cost , so we are in a weird position for cost of models , should be cheaper but market is smaller

    • @deonjansen
