I never found this show funny. Though not Pakistani, I never understood
1. Why his mother-in-law was living with them - NOT normal
2. Why the future son-in-law was mixing so much with the eldest daughter before their marrage
I understand is comedy show but should be based on basic reality, otherwise its about a white family, made Pakistani/Muslim just to make money

No it shouldn’t be based on reality because it would be boring that’s why it’s a comedy show just enjoy it and don’t overthink
Though normally I would agree but at moment in the UK/West the only time you see Asian people is in these types of comedy showes. The public (White people) are finding things funny that mainly don't happen in Asisn familes - Asian people do a lot of things that are funny or can be made fun of.
Both of those things are completely normal
