  • EDIT: Look at that beard. Heck yeah.
Anywho, after enough time I've actually gathered the names of everyone sitting with Glen here thanks to all the awesome people in the comments!
From left to right, The Host - Michael Parkinson, The Legend - Glen Campbell, The Comedy Writer - Jeremy Lloyd, The Comedian - Billy Connolly
Really a solid group of guests who, to the surprise of some, actually have some pretty great chemistry! I can definitely recommend watching the full interview linked in this description, a second episode of the show with all of them would've been awesome!
Really, thanks for watching, talking with fellow Glen fans in the comments has been great!
    Original Description:
So this definitely isn't my normal kind of upload, and I'll definitely be back on something more my style tomorrow, but this performance from Glen has been living in my head completely rent-free for nearly a month now, and the video I found it on doesn't even mention that he played these things in the title, and if you ask me this is the star of the show right here, not the performance of Rhinestone Cowboy he did with an entire band, this is where it is at man, just Glen and his guitar. I love it so much, check out that near impeccable hybrid picking, or the amazing little triad licks he does, or a certain little Jerry Reed lick you might recognize from another certain little banger of Glen's, also a little bit of jump cuts because why not to capture the humor of this little talk show thing, I really recommend watching the full thing if you find yourself enjoying this as much as I did, it's a nice little talk show thing and they talk about some neat stuff, just wish they talked more about how he learned guitar, getting into gypsy jazz and discovering Django as his guitar master, but whaddya gonna do!
We still got just Glen and his guitar! It's always either in the church or on a british broadcast like this lol
Welp, I think I've rambled enough for this, editing this made me think what if I did more CZcams nonsense with Glen to capture more of his comedic side, idk, that's for another day, let's just enjoy this great little thing for now.
Also, what the heck is that solo from anyways?!? Kinda sounds like Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives To Me, but I think I would recognize it more if that was the case, because man, is that a hell of a song.
    Love it.
Oh yeah, here's this link to the original video lol: • Glen Campbell Sings "R...
    From the distant year 1981.

One I knew of was frank Sinatra when he recorded. Strangers in the night. Also Glen was a fill in with the beach boys for a short time I think it was during time that Brian had stopped performing. Glen was such a versatile artist that could play classical to Spanish guitar and his collaboration with Jimmy Webb produced many of well known songs. And even through he had a wild times during the Tanya tucker Era. And certain times he had a little trouble. He never lost his moral background from his being brought up in good faith and family.

Nah! He's plucking up there in one of the greatest guitar jams of all time with ol' Jerry, Chet, Merle, and his guitar idol, Django Reinhardt!
That would be a really weird blend of styles lol, I wanna hear it! Glen did always figure he'd be a guitar player, he never thought he'd be known for his singing of all things! Interesting how things go.
Welp! He's phenomenal at both! What can I say!

Enjoyed watching this performance broadcast on BBC again. That lil guitar solo was Glen's improvisation at his best, this and that, favorite bits plus the Jerry Reed guitar lick.

@@thegloobster So true! I miss him. BTW, here is Glen's recording of "Blues My Naughty...." and it includes the Jerry Reed bit! Glen claimed it took him 3 months to learn Jerry's riff on guitar...and I seriously doubt that! czcams.com/video/XRZRNClCQWI/video.html

@@BringBackMyYesterdaybyDee Ahh, yes! Such a jam of a song! Incredible vocal performance, man is it fast, I know I can never get it quite right! I may talk about the full album at some point on this channel honestly, I really love it, even own it on vinyl! Actually it's wasn't even meant to be sold, it was used as a promotional record from the seems of it, which just makes it awesome, not sure how it ended up in my hands!
Also, I can't believe it took him 3 months, he had already learned a bunch of Django records and everything at that point, and I don't even think it's THAT crazy of a lick! Not like it's some sort of Polyphia Tim Henson lick, alright! Enough rambling lol, love it!

Glenn was one of the people that had the gift.
For Christmas I got most of the wrecking Crew stuff. Any way I read about Glenn. He was so talented that he was playing live on stage at a very early age. They called him a prodigy in his early very early years.

Hah! I remember being in that position! Started digging through all sorts of old interviews with him, man have I found some gems in the process. All began by being amazed that there is footage out there with Glen completely alone with no backing playing his guitar! Instantly was hungry FOR MORE.
      So, the digging began!
It's really just a huge plus and amazing to see I'm now sharing it with other people as crazy for this man as I! As well as sharing it with more guitarists who don't think of Glen as truly a stellar guitarist like he was up there with the likes of Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, he was just too dang good at singing! It took all the spotlight man! Those big orchestrations and stuff, NAH, I'M HERE FOR DAT NITTY GRITTY HEHEH! Love it! Wish his guitar got more spotlight like Jerry's did. Really man.
Thanks for commenting! You're right, it's one thing to dominate on guitar, it's another to have a UNSTOPPABLE ear that could pick up melodies with one playthrough, it's RIDICULOUS TO HAVE A GOLDEN SINGING VOICE MADE FOR THE HARDEST OF POWER BALLADS ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT.
Truly a man born with TOO MUCH talent, and I'm here for it.
