Next game we’re gonna have Nishiki run a bar called Explosive Passion or something and then talk about how he survived a bomb going off in his face after another harem misunderstanding
That might be funny actually, considering him and Ichiban has the same VA
Mine's bar will be Paradise Falls
@@Katanakid6 I thought it would be Sky Bar, & the motto would be soaring to new heights it'll make you want to fly.
Yeah how werid would that be if I survived..

He went from not speaking Japanese to being fluent. Can't expect less from a guy who survived a 20+ story fall.
Funnily enough, Andre Richardson can speak Japanese in RGG online, with his voice by Charles Glover (his VA) himself
50 story building, standing at 465 meters tall
Mine teach him while flying
Didn't he at least understand Japanese in 3? He just chooses to speak English.
No me extrañaria que mine tenia un cuerpo tan duro que amortiguo su caida y luego agentes de la cia lo recogieron y curaron sus heridas
"Richardson explains how he survived the fall"
The explanation: "Things were real touch and go"
Must have been a soft touch and a quick go.
ShortVer: I don't fucking know either
Late but: Seriously, I increasingly think they're building up to a vampire twist soon, probably in the next game, and we know 4 of the reveals (Survive Bartender (Kashiwagi), Revolve Bartender (Andre Richardson), Chau (Lau) Ka Long and Bryce Fairchild) for that twist.
@@Volvagia1927 or andre richardson just got lucky and fell on one of those window washer things that hang from buildings
"Rubber Mine" I read in another comment 💀
If Richardson could survive a 20 story fall,Lau Ka Long survived a bullet to the head and Kashiwagi survived after being shot by a 50 cal in a helicopter shootout then Kiryu should survive terminal cancer too
It’s not 50 cal, it’s a M134 Minigun on a Black Hawk chambered in 7.62 NATO.
Honestly let kiryu fuckin retire. They keep bringing him back too much. we want him to be with his family
@@evandaymon8303Thule could set him up as an Eri type cameo where he's only canon to a substory and a extra party member not part of the main plot at all
Lad 10 will have an old looking guy that looks similirly to Kiryu that runs a bar named Chemotherapy
So I’ve been to the IRL hospital that Richardson fell off the roof of, it’s Obuko Hospital just north of Kabukicho.
It’s apparently 17 floors high. Not as tall as it looked in game, but definitely not a survivable height to fall from, especially since it looks like Mine didn’t make it
If you died in Yakuza 3, there's a good chance you're now a bartender.

Can't wait to see Rikiya in Y9

Well, same thing happened with Kashiwagi so...
How did both of them think about opening a bar in different parts of the world.
@@SpectrumByte nah, Kashiwagi's japanese and Andre is american. simple as that

God, I'd cry if they do that. That would be a happy ending for everything
waiting for the "Change of Plans" bar ran by a guy who fell off a hospital roof and took some blonde guy with him
I still find it funny of all people they chose Andre Richardson to be alive. At this point I can only assume Kanda really died. First Kashiwagi then Lau Ka long and now Andre. When will it stop?
Even more funny, all of them "died" in Yakuza 3. At this point if Rikiya or Mine lived, Im not surprised anymore
Nah, Kanda will probably return in the next game, saying his fat preserved his body long enough for his head to be stitched back into his body

i hope mine also got the rubber floor plot twist and survived, hiding somewhere to become a better person for daigo and kiryu, i hope it could be a new companion for ichiban in later games or spin offs

Also, what's next? Yagami goes to Hawaii and finds a bar owner, who mysteriously looks like Kuroiwa and has named his bar "Eyes for you"?
No way. That’s crazy.
His bar is called “Judge Eyes” in English and “Judgment” in Japanese

Yoshitaka Mine surviving seems likely if richardson somehow survived. While i´d be hyped to see a return of Mine, it would be kinda strange. Then again, we have Andre. Anythings possible i suppose.
Mine’s body probably broke Andre’s fall.
@thunderlord3747 That is not how physics work. With the height they fell from, Mine would not act like a cushion for Andre at all.
So Mine's sacrifice really was in vain... watching this leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
But I'm biased since I'm a fan of Mine. Congrats to the fans of Richardson
If richardson could survive, then Mine could too
@@cowboy6083 that's true! I want to be hopeful. It's true that the fact that Richardson is alive only broadens the chances of Mine havig escaped death too.
I just wished he was at the very least mentioned or we just had a confirmation that he's alive.
Maybe next game...? ToT
@@pee1167While I doubt they’ll undo the death of a primary Kiryu “rival” antagonist anytime soon, I imagine they’ll have the half-taunt half-nod bit going for Mine too at some point the way they have it for Ryuji.
Personally, I think it actually fits Mine’s ending to keep himself completely off the radar and just live out his days doing menial busywork. We saw how he changed at the end of 3, and I think that Mine ditching his fraudulent business empire and reputation to try and relive his life for the better makes sense. Hell, I’d say a good cameo would be for him to be seen running an orphanage as a little nod to his past.
My dream for a Mine revival would be just having an otherwise unrelated substory regarding orphan kids with Ichiban, and then having the ending resolution show one of the kids ask for their hither-to-unnamed caretaker to come see them after Ichiban leaves, and that caretaker to reveal himself as Mine. All he does is ask the kid how they’re doing, and smile while knowing that Ichiban Kasuga really is just like the Dragon that taught him. Nothing big or flashy; just a humble look at a new life.
@eunster9095 I completely agree with your vision! I also wouldn't want for Mine to be re-integrated in the main story (though part of me would love it simply for the sake of seeing more of him hahah, but yeah no it would damage the story). The substory you proposed sounds really nice. I also think he would have started making a quieter life, and a little cameo would quiet my aching heart that worries for him, hahaha.
This is slightly unrelated, but I think another thing that could be nice would be a kiwami 3..... so that the jump from kiwami 2 to yakuza 3 that most players take isn't as jarring (yakuza 3's popularity suffered a lot because of it), but also so that maybe Mine could get more screentime, exploring more about his past or, most importantly (since tbh the explanations we got of his past was enough I suppose...) his relationship with Daigo, since it's crucial to his motives. Seeing more of the two of them or more of how he climbed the tojo ranks could make the ending and all the jabs at how important Daigo is to Mine all the more impactful.
...I can't hide that it's also a little for shipping motives hahah, but I promise you it plays only a little part in what I'm saying, because I just genuinely enjoy Mine as a character. Shipping or not, canon or non-canon, their relationship *is* crucial. A lot of people insist that his character suffered from minimal screentime, much like Ryuji did.
But tbh now that we know that Richardson is alive, a little nod to Mine sounds like the least they could do..... it's a bit unfair to him, but at the same time, it is true that Mine died to atone to his misdeeds other than to protect Daigo and Kiryu. But since he had showed to have made a change of heart... it leads me to think it was a spur of the moment decision... so, he deserved a better life....
I made a joke about rubber floor after I replayed 3… I didn’t expect him to actually be back
Kashiwagi - Survive Bar
Richardson - Revolve Bar
Now I'm hoping for
Nishiki - Skydive Bar
Saejima - Rub Bar

What I find interesting is that unlike Kashiwagi or Lau Ka Long where its left more ambiguous and only had hints, here it basically confirms "Yes, this is the same Andre Richardson." But honestly? I believe he could've survived. He did still have combat training and was part of the CIA, even if it was a part of Black Monday. I think he managed to maybe land on something a bit higher up, still nearly killing him, but not enough to do the job (after all he survived multiple beatdowns from Kiryu and still got up, and lets not forget the one dude who Kiryu drop kicked out of a window in 0 and theh still lived). He's probably also under tight watch from the CIA in exchange for him being allowed to roam free somewhat.

He survived because he fell off a ruff not a roof, a ruff isn't very high up
I like to think everyone who ever died in the yakuza series survived and owns a bar somewhere. With a karaoke machine and a spare room upstairs.
So does this mean Richardson is the ONLY villain that actaully received a happy 'ending' since he survived and owning his bar and all?
Man Mine died for nothing. Not complaining though, I liked Richardson.
Suppose he had a changed heart now. Maybe gave Mine a proper burial as a sign of gratitude for opening his eyes. Who knows. The survival of his fall was murky at best unknown.
Mine Could have survived
If Andre survived, then implies Mine too and did the same as Kashiwagi and Kiryu, deleting their names.

@@matthewmondragon2074 I'd say Mine probably padded Andre's fall and in the process was likely obliterated, but with how illogical these survivals are I could believe he somehow made it out alive too.

If only RGG knew how to keep interesting characters alive instead of killing all of them. You can really tell that they are starting to notice that, Characters are dying alot less than the older yakuza games.
OH MY GOD, ITS ACTUALLY HIM. WHAT THE HELL
Mine's sacrifice is now in vein...
A fall over 18.3 meters (or over 60 ft) is lethal. The highest real life japanese building is 125.95 metres ( or 413.2 ft) with 26 floors. The Touto University Hospital in Yakuza apparently has even more floors which means that they fell even heigher.
He couldn't have survived
probably got snagged by a electric cable somewhere alongthe fall
A second time for Ichiban experience this harem stuff. It must be a huge scar left in his life
So Mine died for nothing?
2:12 IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!
There wasn't any rubber floor or rubber Mine, Richardson simply tiger dropped the fall damage.
Can't believe he fell of a hospital ruff and survived, that's wild
Were you killed?
Sadly yes.....
BUT I LIVED.
Mine fans in shambles right now (I'm Mine fans)
Honestly this is fine. With Kashiwagi and Andre being the only real fakeout deaths (with likely/confirmed doppelgängers like Han or Chau Ka Long being similar but different), they handle this pretty well. Kashiwagi is crippled and has to tragically watch his old life end while starting a new one (not to mention a coma for around a decade before he woke up). And Andre not only has the training to survive harsher scenarios (and likely used Mine to cushion himself) it’s really implied that he was in a similar state to Kashiwagi, and was also snagged by the Daidoji faction for his recovery. Pretty well done for the couple of fake deaths there are
Chau is Lau. Confirmed in game
ya about that.... Chau Ka Long is Lau Ka Long.
@@dmitrisemenoff6455 yeahhh just got there, really don’t know how I feel about it, but I guess real life people have survived pistol shots to the front of the head, plus his original scar likely blends the bullet scar given the placement. Ok so Richardson:
1. Survived a huge fall
2. No broken bones
3. Not captured by CIA agents
Since he survived, his body was never found so you would think that the CIA would still be looking for him but i guess they don't cause its a Yakuza game.
I rather know how Chau Ka Long survived a shot to the head. In Richardson's case, anything is possible falling off camera.
My guess is that as he fell he landed straight on a stretcher and Mine softened the blow. Since they were already at a hospital, he could get imediete treatment. Sounds Yakuza enough.
