This was my first attempt, and I definitely came unprepared. Doesn't help that I accidentally switched styles with Kiryu at the end, causing me to sustain unnecessary damage.

I love how Kiryu is just like "Look, I get it, but... we've each moved on, Lau Ka Long. Let's at least part ways amicably." without actually stating it.
Lau Ka Long always kinda felt like the closest thing Kiryu had to a personal arch enemy, maybe besides Hiroshi Hayashi, so the two of them being willing to bury the hatchet is really heartwarming.

It could have pierced the skin but not the skull, probably due to the angle. Like if he could pierce the skull but not damage the brain.

This definitely throws the twin brother theory right out the window. This doesn't really explain how one would survive a direct shot to the head (which they remind us of in this game). Was he revived by mystic Chinese herbal medicine? I bet it was mystic Chinese herbal medicine.
People have survived being shot in the head though so it isn't impossible. The bullet was also in his head and didn't exit out the other side so the damage wouldn't be as bad.

Story wise it feels like the Yakuza series has become a joke. First Kashiwagi, then Han Joon Gi, Chau Ka Long (Who i assumed was Lau's brother), and now Andre Richardson.
You learn in the previous game that the Joon Gi Han that we see is actually a body double that outlived the original. He’s got a drink link about it too.
Yeah besides han joon this all seems a bit absurd. I especially don't like Richardson being alive even though it seems cool at first. Should have been someone else who didn't die just didn't appear in the later games

I like how Saeko casually stop by at an underground arms dealer, and nonchalantly deals with deal-gone-wrong situation as if she's shopping at a local Walmart
Its so hilarious, like they could've danced around it by never showing how he died but RGG is so smug and just plastered his headshotted flashback picture there to remind you.
The best part is they never explain it, similar with Richardson, it's both just "yeah, I got better, what of it?".
I'm surprised here. Despite his Snake Flower Triad was not anymore. He actually still have a power to rebuild his clan once more. But instead, he decided to hide his real identity and became weapon dealer? 😶
Last times he tried to gain more Power he got Beated by kiryu and after 3y to 4y got shot in The head

This is one of my favorite bucket list substories
This is one of the few substories I somehow missed in my playthrough of Infinite Wealth. So we got to see Kiryu's reaction to Kashiwagi and Lau. Now I wish we got to see his reaction to Richardson. Too bad he already met him off camera.
After all of those fights in the past which are to the death, both men now let go of the past and forgive each other as both become a man who erase his name.
I know headshots are possibly survivable and all but goddamn this plot armor is ridiculously thick.
Im guessing he survived with the power of 4000 years of Chinese martial arts

i woulda expected him to at least be lau ka long's unknown son who's had grudge against kiryu for killing his dad but i didnt expect it to be actually him. it really doesnt make sense how he's still alive from a bullet to the head

Yeah I agree. I dunno how they butchered them so badly. Vtuber literally revealed he's alive but not a single bucket character acknowledges it so far. I'm hoping it changes but I don't think it will at this rate. Literally so many people know Kiryu is alive but the people that should acknowledge him.

As a massive Yakuza fan, this is why I prefer the Judgment series now. There are no more stakes in Yakuza anymore, Infinite Wealth also ends so disappointingly, I'm pretty sure in 9 they'll 'kill' off Kiryu, just to bring him back in 10. Repeat.
