Update: An independent lab called Valisure recently found that several sunscreens and after-sun products were contaminated with benzene, a known carcinogen. One of those sunscreens was actually the Raw Elements SPF 30 tinted sunscreen that I reviewed in this video. I'd recommend avoiding this sunscreen. Here you can find the complete list of the products where benzene was found, as well as a list of products that were not found to contain benzene: www.dermatologytimes.com/view/the-cutaneous-connection-episode-24-benzene-found-in-multiple-sunscreen-products
I also recommend this video from Dr Dray that goes into more detail about this situation: czcams.com/video/KZU5OZxtoLk/video.html

Thank you for taking one (eight?) for the team with those bad ones! You have to wonder, many of us use mineral sunscreens because we have sensitive skin, but so many products include essential oils - and coconut oil breaks out a lot of people.

Thanks for this wonderful review. I'm trying the All Good tinted one today. I've been using the popular Paula's Choice one, but I think it's too drying for my skin. And I was also finishing up the Cerave tinted one, but it's too sticky and a bit dark. The All Good (so far) seems like a very happy medium between those, and the tint works for me.

Found this vid because of the Korean sunscreen issues and looking for a sunscreen that won't burn the crap out of my eyes - so thank you for this!!
I tried the Juice Beauty one and have found to apply a quarter sized amount to the face, rub it in, do the same with my neck while that absorbs and then go back to the face, apply another quarter sized amount, repeat until I have enough on! I'm finding with mineral sunscreens going in with smaller amounts and building up seems to work better at minimizing white cast!!

  • @alexandra109

Hi Sarah! I left a comment earlier but I think I may have deleted it accidentally. Anyway wanted to say that I’m also using the All Good tinted mineral sunscreen. I am of medium skin tone (MAC 35). But also I’ve been enjoying Vichy Capital Soleil 60 (titanium dioxide 14.8%). It’s a dry oil formula good for dry skin. It can be layered over another sunscreen and doesn’t pill under makeup. Heard about it from Dana Ann here on YT.
Another recent one I’ve been eyeing is the mineral BB cream from Purlisse Perfect Glow spf 30. Heard of it from Mel Thompson in her recent GRWM. Have you tried that one? Anyway if not perhaps more to add to your “Try on list of Sunscreens” if you want. 😉
Thanks for this roundup of sunscreens.

For those of y’all looking for a good zero waste sunscreen, ScentCerae has one on Etsy that’s quite affordable, is natural, smells like raspberry yoghurt, and only leaves a very slight light pink cast (which I don’t notice under makeup***). It does pill sometimes, but I put mine on right on top of my moisturizer, so they sort of mix and that helps the sunscreen blend out a little bit better. :)
***Take the cast comment with a grain of salt since I’m fair & neutral.

I appreciate you doing this. I am allergic to chemical sunscreens. I breakout with very painful cystic acne. I have been using EveryDay Humans Rose S'il Vous Plait SPF 30. Also, it never occurred to me to do thing layers of sunscreen instead of one thick layer....-face/palm- So I definitely appreciated you saying that. I've got super sensitive skin so when I apply something too heavy, even sunscreen, I'll sweat and get itchy. I literally just did the thin layers and fucking game changer.

Mineral sunscreens actually don’t burn my eyes at all! Only chemical sunscreens do. It’s actually fine to apply sunscreen around the eyes as long as it doesn’t bother you, since that skin is susceptible to sun damage too. There are also some SPF eye creams on the market too!

I feel like mineral sunscreens have come a long way but man.. there are still a lot of duds.. and some of the tinted ones look like look like you were out in the sun too long 😂 I like the all good tinted because it's neutral and too pink or too warm but it's a little too dark on me so I use the untinted one first and then put the tinted one on top, it's a little high maintenance but I like it for no makeup days

  • @begentlebutdontallowshit2549

You guys If you're into only mineral spfs You should seriously try the ARC SUNCARE mineral spf 50, it's fragrance free, alcohol free and non nano zinc. Its the least white castey Mineral suncreen i've ever tried hands down and I have a middle eastern skintone. Having perioral Dermatitis and overall very sensitive skin this is really top notch and I tested about 100+ mineral suncreens over the years. They do ship wordwide, the suncreen itself is quite affortable for the amount of 150ml. Its really a Game changer for me its not drying like some high amount zinc only spfs can be. Its not Oily either. The Brand is a small european Business so it's nice to support smaller retailers. I'm really happy with it so I wanted to share my experience since maybe some of you are looking for new Spf to try. Much Love from Germany ♥️

I’ve been waiting for this since the Purito/ Krave Beet Shield controversy.
I wish I could find a pale tinted sunscreen. They’re all too dark for my ghostliness. I literally look better in a white cast. 😆

I really wish more brands would make several shade options for tinted sunscreens!!

Just wondering, have you tried the cerave tinted spf 30? It does have a bit of medium “coverage” to it, which might be a bit dark for your skin tone, but it has a beautiful, hydrating yet lightweight finish, especially for more normal/dry skin and works well under makeup, at least that’s my experience with it

How do you reapply when you’re wearing makeup?
I’m good about applying some every morning but I always have makeup on!

I use a setting spray with SPF from Pacifica! There are also SPF powders.

I'm allergic to chemical sunscreens and love the Clinique Pep Start (SPF 50) for my face. It's on sale for $19.55 at Nordstrom today. It's made for the face, so there's no white cast.
I get annoyed with those heavy white glue-like sunscreens being marketed for the face. If you're a lifeguard maybe ... for anyone else, forgeddaboudit.

Yeah!! :( I think mineral sunscreens have come a long way in the last couple of years but they still have such a long way to go.

Do sunscreens in the US still have to be tested on animals?

That $72 one 😥 how did they even think that was reasonable 😅 I was wondering what you do with the ones you didn’t enjoy? For me even using them on my body is unbearable 😭

I have been trying the ren sunscreen and highly dislike it. It's sticky and heavy. Strong white cast in me.

Q: How much sunscreen should I apply to my face?
A: Sarah's face rotates slowly from side to side, covered in a heavy white cast of SPF
