Comicstorian you are a little off in your conclusion about Banner finally finding some peace. Quite the opposite, what makes this story all the more tragic is that Hulk forced a transformation just before Banner could die of a heart attack, meaning that Banner's psyche is now forever trapped inside. Hulk even says so himself, that he can never let Banner out again or that heart attack will happen and they both die. This story is heartbreaking.

I think its pretty clear Bruce died at the end. Hulk says that if he reverts back to the Banner form he'd die as well since Bruce is no longer a living vessel.

I remember reading a book called "The Ultimate Guide to The Incredible Hulk." In the book, they touch on this story, and I love what was written about the final scene:
"The Hulk had always said he wanted to be left alone. And he had finally gotten his wish."

i think hulk should be rewritten again this time hulk should be immortal as he is now but there is no alter ego like professor hulk but so hulk has the chance to actually deal with all his issues and be a stable being, he should be basically a gamma powered mutant with no alter ego.......strength waxes and wanes according to how angry he gets but where he's totally in control of his actions his eyes just glow green based on his level of anger......

Bruce didn’t actually get peace, the hulk came out just before he died. If he turns back into Banner they will both die. Banner is trapped inside.
Well, as depressing as this story is especially with the ending I actually feel better that Bruce has gotten peace and has reunited with his old pals in the afterlife. Honestly, the last person on Earth stories really are depressing especially those when the last person is immortal and when they end with them still being alive and can never die like in this story and in the Juggernaut story.

The Hulk in the end knew that he was alone. It felt like the end of an episode from the Incredible Hulk tv series. The song of the lonely man would play, only it’s Hulk and not Banner. Now it’s the Hulk that will be alone forever. Very sad.
When Hulk says he feels cold at the end, it means he feels lonely and after finally letting go the person he hated and wanted gone the most, he was lonely.
Edit: Also, am I the only one like after these stories I want to know what happens next, like what happened to the hulk after?
I'm pretty sure in another comic where Thanos finally wins it all, Thanos arrives o this version of earth defeats Hulk and pretty much turns him into his personal dog. So Hulks ending does not improve in that universe.
the hulk wins.. he defeated banner.. he claimed his body.. and in the process proved he could outlast anyone and everyone.. the hulk doesnt need anybody...he is strong.. more so -resilient; but with it comes the price of endless demise, a lifetime of solitude.. an eternity with no peace
the hulk has the power to break into dimensions and timelines...he could be wise in this process... and perhaps try to change his ways in the past
Paulo Cuento Look at the Planet Hulk series. In an What If off shoot of that series it posits the question, What If the Hulk's ship did not land in Sakaar. There you find Hulk landing in the planet intended by Iron man and the rest of the Illuminati and shows what would become of Hulk in a world where he would be alone... same thoughts could be applied to here.

I read this a couple of months ago and it kinda reminded me if Logan; just with the Hulk. All in all; great and engaging story that also gets emotional at times as well.

Man screw Chulk. I've been a collector of Hulk for almost 30 years and I stuck with the title through thick and thin. Then Marvel kills Banner and Chulks him out, before bringing Hulk back but now as an unlovable immortal dick bag. Sorry Marvel, but I'll hold onto my old collection for dear life as you sink the boat with your bullshit.

So um.... I’m guessing that deadpool died. Good for him. Also this is probably one of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard. Not due to death but permanent solitary and the lack of the sweet release death brings. Too bad the hulk can’t just hop in a spaceship and become the king of another planet again
All Hulk has ever wanted was to be left alone.
But in this story you can tell that affects him in the end.
He got it, but there's no one for him to brag his strength about, he's not going to do anything with that strength either. He's living a miserable existence, and I think he wants to stay in such denial to the bitter end.
+leon4000 You misunderstand why Hulk wants to be left alone. His entire existence he was hunted, hated and eventually betrayed by every "friend" he ever had. His desire to be alone is to finally escape that fate. With Banner gone, there is no misery or denial. He is at last at peace, aside from the bugs.

The hulk has always been my most favorite marvel hero, and when I saw this in some big hulk book that's like showing his powers and other characters and their stories

Love this storyline. It's shows that no matter how powerful you are, you can't stop loneliness. Everything has an end. Even with immortality comes a price.

CHEESE BURGER FREDDY This was a "what if" future of 616, so his powers are about the same (pre WWH levels) meaning those mutated super bugs were capable of shredding solid steel like paper.

Idea/theory/thought,
1) He could go into wild breaker hulk and destroy the entire planet leaving him in space with out oxygen to flow in his blood, this would ultimately cause him to die. (O2 needs to be carried in the blood to the brain and if he has no o2 he wouldn’t live).

The one thing Benny left out that I enjoyed so much was how personal and heart wrenching the argument between Banner and Hulk is. These two who have so much hate for each other but also depend so much on each other is a very cool concept. You see Bruce go from hating his alter ego to ultimately begging him to let them move on and be happy again with their loved ones also the parallelism from Bruce mentioning the Hulk never feels anything like the cold and then the Hulk feeling could at the end of the book was a very nice touch

At time mark 7:22 the Hulk was spawned from the heart of a nuclear blast , uranium or plutonium does not matter both of them will decay down to a stable form of non radio active material , that means so many hundreds of billions of years later the Hulk's internal radiation will fade away to nothing and so will the Hulk
then the Recorder will return for the final analysis and to retrieve the vid bot. The End.
You're not entirely wrong. Theoretically, it would eventually decay down. But in the Hulks case, it's actually different. In any comics, he has been shown to be able to have near instant adaption. At one point he was actually able to convert almost anything into gamma radiation. His body is constantly producing more of it. what this means is that even while it does being to be broke down and fade he is constantly making more of it to the point that it would be basically impossible for him to run out.

Pretty sure this leads into the Maestro comic. Before Banner dies he fantasizes about recreating humanity which is what Maestro does after everyone dies making him a god to them.
I liked this ending for the Hulk, but it was a bit confusing how Banner just suddenly vanished

This is good story but it's inevitable that alien race will visit the planet capturing him or giving him a means to escape to another planet
Take note of The Recorder's words. The Alien Races of Marvel do not look on the Human Race as a good thing. No one would step foot on Earth until Hulk was dead, just to make sure. I point you to the early 2000's story *Maximum Security* to corroborate that.
Hulk wouldn't want to leave either. He has nowhere to go, he's alone which is what he always wanted.

Eventually the Celestials would show up...or even Galactus to devour the planet after there was no one left to stop him...except a supercharged Hulk.
I always wanted to see Hulk powered by a Quasar. Cosmic Hulk with a Beyonder Belt or the Quasar bands themselves. Hulk converts energy nearly at 100% efficiency already. World Breaker Hulk...ha. Super Nova Hulk would match Galactus quite well.

The Celestials only show up to judge planets they have seeded, on their evolutionary potential. There is no more sentient life on Earth, so they wouldn't bother with it. It would be beneath their notice, a dead world to them.
Leaving Jason Aaron's Thor run aside (as he was depicted completely out of character) Galactus traditionally wouldn't go out of his way to eat a planet that is as lifeless as Earth is in this scenario. He only eats uninhabited worlds as a last resort, if there's nothing else nearby, as they don't contain all of the necessary energy to fend off his hunger.
For that matter there is no way of knowing if Galactus or The Celestials are still around in this era.

@@itsgamer9324 He has been retconned to be straight up completely immortal, the current hulk series is called The Immortal Hulk, he is night unkillable and in the straight up completely absurd event he does die, he just comes back, and it seems he comes back faster each time, the immortal hulk run was going some pretty dark places last i checked on it too.
All the major Marvel characters with healing factors age slow. Deadpool, Hulk and Wolverine have all showed very slow ageing in the comics.

I know this came before “SCP-682: The End of All But Me” but I think the hulk is just going to experience that, unless some aliens come by but just a thought
