Paid for itself in 4-5 years. Also, you are 100% right. I'm down 10 pounds this winter harvesting my fallen logs.

Yes it pays for itself rather quickly if you have the square footage. The exercise of harvesting trees is good for the body but in addition to that I find it very relaxing for the mind.

I’ve been though it all when it comes to wood heat. Your much better off going with a good free standing wood stove. Them outside wood burners are no good. They are big wood hogs and take all your time. Very expensive to install. Take that money and put in a new chimney for that free standing stove. You can also cook on it. Free standing stoves have come a long way. They use 20% of the wood for the same size your heating.

A free standing stove is definitely a good choice. They have advantages of cooking as well as they work even without electricity.

that is INsane....if they tried all those taxes in Tennessee Trudeau would get (rightfully)burned at the stake

We are honestly in the process of looking for properties in the US. If Trudeau wins and Biden loses, that will be our sign to make the move.

@@timberstoneranch right on man. lots of nice remote places west of the mississippi river but the govt and native American tribes own about 30% of it and the west coastal states are no better then what you would be leaving. i live in east TN and it is really a nice mix of natural beauty with lakes and mountains but also lots of civilization. once you are sure you can meet any building codes which mostly aren't too bad you wouldn't get messed with. certainly not paying any ridiculous carbon taxes or any of that crap....only thing is you will need to pay for air conditioning electricity because it gets hot during the summers.
you know, ive always considered myself an enviromentalist....meaning i take care of mother nature and respect her.... but most that refer to themselves as such are just nuts and need to be institutionalized. either way, good luck to us both. If Biden gets re elected im moving forward with my retirement plans to Southern Italy.

Thank you so much for the advice. I really really appreciate it. I really hope Trump will win and bring some sanity to America. Everything seems upside down and backwards now. It’s a very difficult choice between Trudeau and Biden. Italy is actually really nice place and their more recent government seems to be really reasonable. They have rejected all the craziness. We were considering Italy ourselves actually but to buy any sort of large plot of land is considerably expensive. Smaller country with much less land.

@@timberstoneranch me too my man. yeah you won't find big plots of land in italy but you will find really nice homes for much cheaper in southern italy on smaller plots in the countryside that are really laid back and quiet. its beautiful southern california-like weather and surrounded by the medd. sea. cost of living is low. population is shrinking quickly. but maybe that's not a bad thing? idk. italian folks are really nice and i love that. there are reasonable firearm rights and that along with the mafia(suprisingly) keep out invaders that would turn the culture upside down. its very easy for US and Canadians to get permanent visas. easiest one lets you live there as long as you can support yourself and not work( so that you aren't displacing employment opportunities for italians)
im a pharmacist and i figure i will volunteer at a local pharmacy to help my italian vocabulary and to meet and donate my time to the locals. i would hate to give up on north america but i think we are probably both smart enough to have a plan B. ✌️

For sure, it is amazing to find like minded people now days. Most of them have been consumed by the woke media. I know that Italy has a decent gun culture and gun rights. The weather is amazing too in a way that you can grow food pretty much all heat. Also, I am not sure if you have heard about this but there are some rural towns that will even give you a free house as long as you put 50k into fixing it. Thanks again. Good luck to us all.

I'm also in Central Ontario - did you guys find you still went through 4 bush cords this winter with it being mild? Also - besides the regular weekly maintenance, have you found you have had to replace any parts on your boiler (fan, etc.)? Would also love to hear your thoughts on the Heatmaster as a brand. Thank you!

    • @timberstoneranch

This year we went through 3 bush cords. In a colder winter we go through 4 to 5 cords. We have not had to replace anything yet. The dealer told me that the fan and pumps should last for about 5 years. Headmaster is good so far but I had an issue with their technical support. I had an issue staring the boiler the is year because the there was some creosote buildup in one of the fans and it was stuck. I called them and they did not call me back until 4 business days later. I did not like that very much especially if it was an urgent matter. We do have propane backup but was expecting better from customer service. It was actually the dealer that took my call right away and helped me diagnose the problem. The only reason why I chose headmaster really is because the dealer is about half hour away from me. I did not want to buy something that would be difficult to service if I had to or could not do something myself. I would recommend getting one that is closest to your house. From the research that I did before buying, they are all pretty much the same when it comes to the conventional ones, the gasifiers are a little bit different and headmaster is the only one that was EPA approved at the time. Let me know if you have any more questions, I am happy to help. Please check out our other boiler videos, you may find them helpful.

I found a way to get FREE* propane.
    How?
My secret, but I'll give you a clue. Think of buying only a car key and getting the car for free.
    * 20 pounds of liquid propane for $5.
