    Save yourself time & money. Skip right past the Gastroenterologists & PCP go straight to a Naturopathic doctor or Functional Medicine provider so they can help you. Sign up for yoga too. It literally will help your gut. I have been trying to fix me for a while, going to traditional medical doctors is a waste of time & money. If you have gastroparesis along with SIBO, try acupuncture. It can help with motility. There are herbs that help with all of these disorders byt medicines are a hit n miss mostly miss. Good luck.

    After two years of misery, I have recently been diagnosed with IMO. I was mainly on plant based diet during pandemic, mainly to save cooking time. After so many tests, now that I have finally diagnosed, the insurance has rejected my antibiotic, which sucks but I have changed my diet and have reduced fermentable carbs significantly and started to see improvements in my symptoms. Also noticed much flatter stomach in the recent weeks.
    This video is very educational, thank you so much for breaking down the issues and treatments!

      Start low would be my advice. For me it took lowering to 15 for 3-4 weeks, then I could tolerate 25-30. You will have to find out what YOUR body will tolerate and remember that symptoms may not be apparent until the next day. @@TineSkrede

    Can you please do a video (or blog on your website) addressing how living in a moldy environment - particularly one that’s high in mycotoxin-producing molds - can contribute to these conditions of gut dysbiosis, as well as to reflux/GERD? I suffered a long time before realizing that this was one of the root causes of why I developed IBS, SIBO, and GERD with reflux esophagitis and esophageal ulcers … the adverse effects of toxic molds are not talked about enough!!!

I eat low histamine because if I eat histamine food I feel hypoglycemic and lately I started getting brain fog after eating histamine food

      When you store things like rice and potatoes in the fridge, resistent starches are created which you DO NOT want in this type of restrictive diet:
      Therefore, stick to newly cook meals with as little carbs as possible. It sucks for some of us but 4-6 weeks should be enough if done well.

    Doing low Fodmap did make it worse which is also what the studies show. Low Fodmap is not recommended by many health practitioners and evern Dr. Mark Pimentel recommends the low fermentation diet instead of Low Fodmap. But still my own experience was it only got better once i reduced the amount of proteins and fats i ate. I guess reducing symptoms is does not mean that one is working on the root cause. If methane or hydrogen sulfite producers are the problem then it's obvious that once you start eating fodmaps that it will flare up symptoms, but reducing prebiotics will only make the dysbiosis worse. Low Fodmap usually is highfat high protein and will make methane overgrowth or Hydrogensulfide overgrowth worse.

      what did you limit fats and proteins in grams?

    • @Salamaleikum80
      @Salamaleikum80 Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@gabe-cv7yt No just reduce it but it depends on the kind of dysbiosis. There are some scientific papers on how high amount of proteins are connected to hydrogen-sulfite dysbiosis. Especially with energy drinks(taurin) and whey shakes. But also when protein digestion is inhibited(low acid, bile or enzymes), which results in more proteins getting to the colon. I would reduce protein intake to the minimum(depends on weight) if it's hydrogen-sulfite. If methane I would probably reduce fats, but I am not well read on methane sibo. I only konw that both types do have a relationship with hydrogen producers(something I learned from Pimentels papers). You can think of hydrogen producers usually self-containing (like pickeling) not creating a lot of problems, but when methanogens or sulfite loving bacteria use the hydrogen it becomes pathological. There are also differences between where the dysbiosis is causing problems(small intestines vs. colon)

    I suspect that I may be dealing with both SiBO and LiBO. I'm planning to take Rifaximin for the SiBO however i'm a little reluctant if I also have LiBO that the Rifaximin won't treat that as well. I've tried treating SiBO for the last 7 months with herbal antimicrobials, extreme dietary restrictions, & probiotics. I want to stay clear of antibiotics as i'm susceptible to developing C Diff infections but i'm still dealing with SiBO. I haven't taken a SiBO breath test because i'm afraid of how terrible i'll feel after ingesting the Lactulose solution, but after ingesting carbs i start to feel unwell within 1 Hour which is SiBO and not LiBO. I've treated SiFO with Nystatin for 5 months so SiFO isn't an issue anymore. A couple of weeks ago i tried eating ice cream and vomited 7 hours after, which my Doctor believes could be more linked to LiBO. I guess i'm trying to get a better understanding of LiBO.
    Do you know if FMT (Fecal Microbiota Transplant) is effective for treating LiBO?

      @@Salamaleikum80except fiber and fodmaps are not necessarily equivalent to movement, the body requires movement to function properly but carbs/ fiber is not REQUIRED evolutionarily. That being said if you can re-introduce foods I think that is great, but in my experience nothing is strictly necessary for the actual function of the body itself in the way that movement operates other than animal proteins/ fats.
