  • I have a very interesting guest today, his name is Mike Thompson, and he was once the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. He did 45 years in Prison for a crime that he maintains he did not commit. In this episode, you would hear a lot of things about all the controversies he had been around for years. No doubt that you’d enjoy this Sitdown.

      Now Thompson stands accused not of violent crimes, but exploitative white collar offenses, such as bilking homeless people out of unemployment, or signing up a fake Southern California firefighting company for $1.5 million in business loans. According to the complaint, Thompson and his co-defendant, whom he met in prison, convinced 16 people to give up their personal information to benefit the alleged scheme.

      I agree. But the second poster had a Reply comment saying that Big Mike is back in for some kind of "theft of govt services". I asked for some kind of link, some form of proof, cause after 45 years, and from what it sounded like, he's got it made on the outside now, I can't imagine that someone who's clearly gained a vast amount of education would willingly do ANYTHING that would even remotely have a chance of endangering that. Still waiting on a response, but I asked about 5 minutes before making this comment. I really hope that comment was wrong. I liked Big Mike when I saw the Documentary some years back, found him to be incredibly well spoken and intelligent, and see that has grown exponentially as he's seen here. I can't imagine him risking anything now. Unless he got set up for not "testifying" the way they wanted him to. That would suck.

It gives you a framework and moral compass to live by and also a community of support. Cults are led by dangerous people who brainwash others for selfish gain and to control. There’s a big difference. If everyone just lived with selfish motives, this society would be even worse than it already is. You just swap one gang for another, and no gang is worse than the Catholic Church, or the southern baptist convention. Pulling in billions a year, and spend maybe 2-3 cent pr dollar on actual charitable outreach, like soup kitchens, and that is almost always just to have a captive audience to preach to. R*ping all those kids and hiding it for so long didn`t help the reputation either. When I hear the word youth pastor, all my alarms go ringing.

The prison guys that knew and knew of him all universally say that its true, he was for a time an enforcer and a seriously deadly one. However he exaggerated about the number of men he simultaneously fought and other things. The actual stories were apparently crazy enough but he went over the top talking about beating 10 guys or whatever.

      Yep, you guys could get a pocast going with the 2 of you, where you guys talk to current criminals, or prisoners who haven't changed their bad ways yet. You guys could be a guiding light, and bridge for criminals bcuz they could relate to you guys, and as such, your message has a much better chance at reaching them. You wouldn't even need to talk to them specifically about changing their ways, but rather just speaking with them, without judgment, they'll be able to see a practical way out, and a life that they could build for themselves. Not only despite their past, but even bcuz of their past. Their knowledge and experiences could be used for good, if they so choose. And they could always invite Christ into their lives, to guide them towards a live rich of dignity, love, and God's strength. At any rate, sincerely sending my prayers to the both of you. 🙏

    God bless you Michael for the work you do. I was a firefighter in a large Metropolitan City for over 30 years. I have seen my share of violence, death and destruction , most of it at the hand of man. When friends ask about the "worst thing or things I've ever seen" I think about the things that one person or persons did to another. When you do this type of job for this long you get very familiar with who the bad players are in the area you work. The gang members. The drug dealers. The street people And yes even a few of the mobsters/ gangsters. You may recognize certain tradecraft or handiwork and no who was probably responsible. I've seen a lot of these same people ultimately become the victim as well. I have however you seen a few, albeit very few change their ways and their lives dramatically. For most of these people, like you and your guest today it was an inner reflection of themselves that they were forced to make while incarcerated. It's amazing because of the thousands of individuals who get incarcerated very few make the change. It's even more exceptional when you consider the fact that like you and what your guests talked about today our prison systems are not designed to offer any type of Rehabilitation. They actually do the opposite. It's like grad school for criminals. I've talked to many of these people who would approach me and my crew on the street and say something like "you probably don't remember or recognize me but you saved my life when I was... shot" or "stabbed" or "O.D.'ed" or whatever. They would say thank you for not giving up on me and letting me die. Some of them even admitted to being the one who was responsible for a stabbing or shooting or bludgeoning someone to a bloody pulp. But the point is is I believe inside of every human is the ability to change their course in life and if a few can do so without any help from the system imagine how many could actually be rehabilitated with a little effort. And like you guys said how the politicians really don't care, that's definitely the problem. How can we expect people to care about themselves if they don't see that anybody else does. With the exception of some severely mentally Disturbed individuals I believe most people would rather live a good life than an evil one but when their choices are limited they will do what they have to to survive especially in a hostile environment. Most street cops that I worked side by side with seem to be too jaded and burnt out to be the one to assist these people in finding a better way but it seems as though the few that have reformed themselves Reach Out to the firefighters and paramedics when they run into us because they tell us it was something that we said or just a single moment of compassion that we may have shown for them while doing our jobs that is the reason why they feel compelled to approach us and tell us their story. And they are almost always right, that we don't remember or recognize them because after so many years all the names and faces just become a blur but I do have some small sense of satisfaction when somebody approaches me and my crew to thank us for what we did, Once Upon a Time somewhere in the street, the ghetto, the projects or wherever that that little bit of humanity that we showed them somehow affected their life in a positive way. If the penal system and the courts would show a little Humanity as well I would think it would go a long way toward not only bettering individual lives but reducing a lot of criminal behavior in the future. The fact is is that most of these criminals will be in and out of the system multiple times before they do something so hideous or violent that they're finally put away for life. I believe a lot of that can be avoided and a lot of lives could not only be changed but also we would see a reduction in the numbers of victims as well. Sorry about the long-winded comment, I wouldn't have been able to do this without the dictation feature on my phone as it would have taken me a few hours to type all this but just wanted to tell you that I believe in your message and I believe that you are making a difference. God bless you and your family and please continue doing what you do. And of course may you have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year

    • @missesmew
      @missesmew Před rokem +1

      What an awesome comment sir. I believe you are right about the little kindness or compassion going a long way. Yes if the system could help out a little bit instead of creating a gladiator school. But alas, think of the big picture. A society that’s based on the police state doesn’t benefit from less criminals, it needs more.

    • @voluntariosdesants9527
      @voluntariosdesants9527 Před rokem

      Normally a big chunk of print like that doesn't get digested my end but that was very readable. You never know where compassion can lead. I'm British. I remember ex-Nazi now Catholic scholar Joe Pearce talking about the touches of humanity that changed his life. He once had a fiery radio debate with a member of a Punk band Stiff Little Fingers. He thought after the debate the other guy would ignore him and head off, but instead he asked him if he fancied a pint. They obviously disagreed when chatting over a pint, but the guy treated him like a human being, and it was part of what led to his change. I've been in prison myself. It was a political thing. To me rehabilitation is facilitated by fair treatment, the desire of change has to come from within. In my experience I think what accounts for crime is 90% weakness, 10% wickedness. That 90% can be worked on. God bless you for your service as a fireman and the difference you made to people's lives.

      It's such a beautiful thing ,that a black man can enjoy an interview of a Aryan Brotherhood man. Personally ,I can't stand white supremacist YET I watched this open mindedly WITHOUT assuming the man was a Devil. The world is such a complicated place , quite strange how the leader of the White prison gang is NOT a racist man. I mean he loved going ro Native sweat lodges !

    45 years for tipping off the dad a kidnapping plot was in motion is a hero! You two are absolutely correct about most prosecutors when it comes to individuals who are innocent.

      He wasn't a leader per say. He was on a commission which meant he was part of a group that all had to co sign any decisions etc. The California commission consisted of him, Wendell Norris and TD Bingham among others.

    One of the most well spoken interviews I have ever watched on any channel. The level of intelligence shown here I believe is a perfect representation of the ability to learn and use the knowledge that he was given the opportunity to acquire while serving time in prison. A very well representative of how people who do serve time are not just mere images or reflections of a single choice made in their life that landed them in prison. Thank you for the content and the message that both of you shared not only in this interview but throughout the platforms that you have made through your life experiences.
