To be fair, who's to say he's not making it now. Maybe not quite the glamour and glitz but I think he's making it in a better way.
@@Warrickomega never said he wasnât; like he has said, heâs one of the only guys of his era/crew that is still alive, so thatâs a win in itself. But he has a successful CZcams channel that doesnât glamorize the life, has written books, does community outreach, etc.
If he ever feels guilty or regretful of his past, I think anyone would agree he has at least made the best possible attempt at rectifying his wrongs with his positive character arc.

Joe is a great man who gave a huge personal sacrifice (6 years deep cover is INSANE) and took down a lot of horrible men. Michael is saved and reformed and been with his loving wife for almost 40 years. This is a beautiful thing.

You can do bad things in your past and become reformed and do good things like he's doing now, just because he was a different years ago doesn't mean he can't still be respected in the present, he does a lot of good work giving speeches to people in gangs or delinquent kids to convince them not to go into the criminal life because of the regrets he has from his criminal past.

I have seen Joe several times interviewed and he is a very intelligent and courageous gentleman. I'm amazed every time I imagine the kind of pressure he was under. In the movie the greatest irony was the $500 check... not much reward for his risk and sacrifice but that's what a hero does. God Bless.

I just wanted to say: My god this was a great interview. Here you got two guys who couldn't possibly be further apart from each other in the spectrum of life but as they sit and talk each of their perspectives and sides of the same stories, they have an incredible common ground. This is almost something out of a great crime movie but as real as it gets.
First time in my memory that i sat thru an entire 30min + youtube video, never fast forwarding and just glued to what both had to say. Obviously, im now switching over to part II.

I'm at 10 years way to go! I didn't need to drink I just went to parties and what not at least every other day sometimes every night others just the weekends. It depended who I was around. Then I just traded alcohol for painkillers, my body was hurting a lil bit by that time. After working at the same job of 10 years. I got laid off but still took pills still. I ended up going with a small group of my friends who worked for a guy with a big reputation and ran the illegal gambling in our state so I went with him and made a lot of money. He let my friend who brought me in go and made me take him home and gave me his route of slots. I fixed it up to make alot and was in good then and lived like a Rockstar. I made a little empire of knowing different people getting different pills and had the money and bought em all up with a full blown opioid addiction I'm still fighting. We ended up getting raided my best friend took over he got greedy and lost my best friend and left on bad terms too. Now I'm happy with my ol lady and my dogs living legit, having gotten out of that with no charges luckily! I'm still battling with that addiction every day but living and thanking God for that second chance!

So glad I found Michael on the Utubes just now... 5 stars, instant big fan. â€â€â€ Look forward to lots of catching up. â€PS... this reminds me a little bit of that scene from Heat, where Robert De Niro & Al Pacino met and had a sit-down... not the same thing, of course. But it did remind me of that. Two guys from opposite sides of the isle, yet I got the very distinct feeling they had respect for each other, maybe could have liked each other in a different Universe. Great great acting.
